    Wonderful lunch!

Today I was a little nervous going out to eat with my co workers, I am 3 weeks out since surgury, doing really well. We went to Luby's which is like a cafeteria style. I had mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, and beans. I had maybe a about 2 tablespoons of each and did fine. I get nervous eating now, especially not being at home, but so far so good. I'm loving this site, thanks for sharing your ideas!

    Denied!

Put 10 pound weights in your bra, I had a friend do that so she would qualify. you only have to be that weight, for 1 day. Try it, it might work! Good luck!
  10. little hard, wishing maybe of not doing this surgery, but it is too late to wish back right, it is not like they can add my stomach back on. I am trying to keep focused of why I decided have the surgery and it is for the benefit of my health. How are you doing?

  11. to the ER and the dr. would meet us there. After 2 IV's and 10 pokes, 2 CT's, the found no leak but something called actleosis (Sp?) bassically pockets of fluid building on the lung. An effect from surgury, some people get it. Stayed in the hospital until Wed. and feeling a little better. Day 2 of dirhea, not fun at all. Other than that, how are things going for you? Today was a little a

  12. Hi, going ok. I just got out of the hospital, on Monday I had my drainage tube removed and felt like someone punched me in the stomach really hard. I was in a lot of pain. I told my dr. he said I would feel much better after the tube was removed. By noon, I was in so much pain I couldn't even walk, I thought I was having a heart attack. My mom called the dr. office and they said to take me

    Denied!

this sounds horrible, but I had a friend put 10 pound weights in her bra, to make her weigh more. This did make her qualify, but not sure how safe this is. Also, they weigh you right before the surgury.

2nd Day PostOp hardly any liquids!!!

I had a hard time getting liquids down too, and the past 2 days I have had a hard time with my protein. Today, I slept and rested most of the day, and hoping tomorrow will be a better day. The first 3 days were really sore for me, then I started to feel better and did too much, and down for 2 days now. Take it slow and get your rest! My surgery was on July 27th, and I am starting to heel. I am looking forward to getting this drainage tube taking out on Monday.
  15. So, I all day I laid around and still felt sick to my stomach, today I hardly got in any protein and the thought of drinking a shake made me sick. I just had hubby go get me some WW fudgicles, hope those do fine with my new tummy. I am really tired of the liquid drinks and would love to eat something! I am 9 days out from surgery, it is going to be a long month!

  16. I can so relate you about being with others. For some reason today, I was suppose to meet some friends at a Mexican resturant, in my mind I thought I would have tortilla soup minus everything but the broth. After getting out of the shower, I felt very weak and felt like I was going to loose my cookies. So, I cancelled meeting my friends, thought how could I sit there and watch them eat.

    home from the hospital

I was very very sore too, I felt like I shouldn't of been in the pain I was and I was not a nice patient coming out of recovery. Luckily I haven't had the nausuea part, but I do have the pain in the chest when I swallow too much too fast. My dr. said that was normal. I also don't sleep well other than on my back elevated. This has been really hard for me b/c I am a side sleeper. I am 1 week out since surgery and getting around great, I did over do it yesterday and feel the pain the pain today. My stomach is itching like crazy so I am hoping that is a sign of healing on the inside. I do have trouble getting up and down though. I just love this site and connecting with others that are experiencing the same as me! Hope you feel better!

Week 21 and down 61.8 lbs! Pics!

Awesome way to go! Very encouraging for me just starting out!

    OMG!

I still get pain on my side where I have 2 large incisions, where the drainage tube is. i can't wait to get his thing removed, I don't like it. I also have chest pains if you drink too big of a drink or lay down after I drink something. I talked to my dr. today and he said it was normal. Down 15 pounds, yea, but I am hungry and sooooooo tired of these shakes, I want some real food! How are things going for you?

    Doing fine

Well, hard to believe, I went thru with the surgery. This is day 4, and not doing too bad. The first day was really rough, but it has gotten easier each day. Looking forward to getting this draining tube out, if is uncomfortable. My goal is to take in more water and protein. It is is amazing how you don't feel hungry and have to make yourself eat. Day of surgery I have lost 14 pounds, I thought wow, maybe I don't need the surgury, but decided to stick to my guns, and went with it. So far pretty satisfied.

    Doing fine

I have had the Gladiator shake from the smoothie king, it has no carbs or sugar. So far doing ok, the worst part is the drainage tube for me and I have an incision above my belly button that is sore too. I am trying to get in the protein, but not much of an appitite. Today I am going to try some butternut squash soup, we shall see how that goes. I have noticed that my stomach does make all kinds of noises, yesterday is sounded like a thunderstorm ready to rumble, it was the wierdiest feeling, I couldn't go the bathroom or pass gas, it was really wierd. I had the surgery done in Houston, where did you have yours at? Did you do pretty good with it? I was suprised my surgery was only an hour long. Hope things are going good for you.

    Kaiser Liquid Diet

My sleeve surgury to today, 2 1/2 hours away. Hard to believe I survived the liquid diet, it wasn't that bad, I did have a few bad days but overall I just kept real busy. I lost a total of 12 pounds in 10 days, so I am ready for the new me! I am so glad I found this site, it has really help me a lot! Good luck to all and I will report when I get home.

    Emotions!!!

I am having the sleeve next wed. from my preop appointment, I learned the sleeve is not as good as they thought. They said it was very easy to cheat, and came with other issues such as band slipage, vomitting a lot. My dr.'s said the sleeve was much better and would be happy with it. Good luck!
