Last night I broke every rule for my sleeve, good thing, I had a wonderful time.....but today, back on track!
-
I have not had the urge to eat when I am stressed, amazing to me, I am just not interested in food anymore. which is a good thing. 1 month out and have dropped 4 sizes and lost 35 pounds. I just tried on a bunch of my old cloths and I have a brand new line of cloths again!

I have lost 34 pounds in 4 so doing good so far! Way to go!

I had my surgery 7-27 and will not be able to eat bread until Oct. Has anyone tried pita bread 4 weeks out?
-
Best of luck, prayers going out! The first 2-3 days are a little hard, but it does get easier.

Today I was a little nervous going out to eat with my co workers, I am 3 weeks out since surgury, doing really well. We went to Luby's which is like a cafeteria style. I had mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, and Beans. I had maybe a about 2 tablespoons of each and did fine. I get nervous eating now, especially not being at home, but so far so good. I'm loving this site, thanks for sharing your ideas!

Put 10 pound weights in your bra, I had a friend do that so she would qualify. you only have to be that weight, for 1 day. Try it, it might work!
Good luck!

this sounds horrible, but I had a friend put 10 pound weights in her bra, to make her weigh more. This did make her qualify, but not sure how safe this is. Also, they weigh you right before the surgury.

I had a hard time getting liquids down too, and the past 2 days I have had a hard time with my Protein. Today, I slept and rested most of the day, and hoping tomorrow will be a better day. The first 3 days were really sore for me, then I started to feel better and did too much, and down for 2 days now. Take it slow and get your rest! My surgery was on July 27th, and I am starting to heel. I am looking forward to getting this drainage tube taking out on Monday.

I was very very sore too, I felt like I shouldn't of been in the pain I was and I was not a nice patient coming out of recovery. Luckily I haven't had the nausuea part, but I do have the pain in the chest when I swallow too much too fast. My dr. said that was normal. I also don't sleep well other than on my back elevated. This has been really hard for me b/c I am a side sleeper. I am 1 week out since surgery and getting around great, I did over do it yesterday and feel the pain the pain today. My stomach is itching like crazy so I am hoping that is a sign of healing on the inside. I do have trouble getting up and down though. I just love this site and connecting with others that are experiencing the same as me! Hope you feel better!

Awesome way to go! Very encouraging for me just starting out!

I still get pain on my side where I have 2 large incisions, where the drainage tube is. i can't wait to get his thing removed, I don't like it. I also have chest pains if you drink too big of a drink or lay down after I drink something. I talked to my dr. today and he said it was normal. Down 15 pounds, yea, but I am hungry and sooooooo tired of these shakes, I want some real food! How are things going for you?

I have had the Gladiator shake from the smoothie king, it has no carbs or sugar. So far doing ok, the worst part is the drainage tube for me and I have an incision above my belly button that is sore too. I am trying to get in the Protein, but not much of an appitite. Today I am going to try some butternut squash Soup, we shall see how that goes. I have noticed that my stomach does make all kinds of noises, yesterday is sounded like a thunderstorm ready to rumble, it was the wierdiest feeling, I couldn't go the bathroom or pass gas, it was really wierd. I had the surgery done in Houston, where did you have yours at? Did you do pretty good with it? I was suprised my surgery was only an hour long. Hope things are going good for you.

My son is type 1 and went he gets ketones, I can usually smell them b/f i know he has them. It is a distinct smell that comes and goes. Not for a type 1 ketones are not good.

Well, hard to believe, I went thru with the surgery. This is day 4, and not doing too bad. The first day was really rough, but it has gotten easier each day. Looking forward to getting this draining tube out, if is uncomfortable. My goal is to take in more Water and Protein. It is is amazing how you don't feel hungry and have to make yourself eat. Day of surgery I have lost 14 pounds, I thought wow, maybe I don't need the surgury, but decided to stick to my guns, and went with it. So far pretty satisfied.

My sleeve surgury to today, 2 1/2 hours away. Hard to believe I survived the liquid diet, it wasn't that bad, I did have a few bad days but overall I just kept real busy. I lost a total of 12 pounds in 10 days, so I am ready for the new me! I am so glad I found this site, it has really help me a lot! Good luck to all and I will report when I get home.

I am having the sleeve next wed. from my preop appointment, I learned the sleeve is not as good as they thought. They said it was very easy to cheat, and came with other issues such as band slipage, vomitting a lot. My dr.'s said the sleeve was much better and would be happy with it. Good luck!

I am doing the same and get tired and a headache too, maybe the body is detoxing itself?
I am having surgery on next Wed. Looking forward to getting this behind me!
-
What a great feeling! You look great! I had buttons too, lol!

I had my preop visit yesterday and the count down is on for Wed. After reading over all that paper work, doing all the test, I almost changed my mind. I have been hungry on this liquid diet and it is not fun! I keep telling myself, I have come to far to turn back but I am getting nervous. Since I started the liquid diet I have lost 6 pound since Monday, I am sure it all Water, but I do get hungry and miss eating. We are going to the beach tomorrow and staying down there, any suggestions of creative ideas? I did find out that smoothie King sells a good Protein Drink called the Gladiator, it is very good, but expenise, 7 dollars for a med. but well worth it. I hope my liver is shrinking! Good luck to all!

Good for you, I am also having my surgery next Wed. as well, looking forward to it!
