  1. I was at the amusement park with my family and needed a wheel chair to get around. My right knee had been replaced two times and I was going to end up being a cripple if I didn't do something fast. I had lost weight and regained several times and then I heard about the Sleeve surgery and knew that was the tool I needed. My starting weight was 295 lbs. and I was sleeved on 8/16/2011, I am now 133 lbs. and have been maintaining since October of 2012. I am so greatful for my tool:)
  2. The nurse at the hospital gave me a trick for feeling nauseious, if you put an alcohol swab or any cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol on the bridge of your nose and breath in through your nose slowly and out through your mouth. It really worked for me and I never heaved. As for the taste, everything changed for me I loved the chocolate pre op and then after I hated it (still do) I found I love the fruite ones (Syntax nectar Lemonaid ) is my favorite, but all the fuite ones are ok with my new pallet. I am now 4 weeks post op and eating soft food but it too is dificult to find what tastes and feels right, don't worry you just need to find what works for you. I hope you feel better soon. I am 2 days post op and feeling miserable. My left side pulls constantly, I have been dry heaving since gettin home from the hospital yesterday and have a bit of blurred vision. So please excuse any typos. I am having buyer's remorse as well. ALl I want to do is sleep. I wake every 1.5 hours though amd walk, do my respiratory therapy and drink another ounce of something. I have been taking prvacid and gasx and they are helping some but I am having strong hunger pangs as well. Nothing tastes good. I am trying to drink a Protein shake today as my 1 ounce every 15 minuts. But, I know I have missed alot of them since I keep sleeping so much. I am praying for all of us to get better. For now, I am a bit depressed and miserable.
  3. Ok surgery was yesterday morning, went home by 1:30 pm slept ok except the gas pain moved to my shoulder and it was killing me. It hurt every time I take a sip of protien drink and it hits my stomach is this normal??? How long does this last. I also have found that I need to grind up my pain pill to take them because when they get to my stomach it's like an excruciating pain. Just want to know that what I am feeling is normal.
  4. I have just received a phone call telling me my surgery has been approved and scheduled for August 15th. I was not counting on it happening this fast so we have a vacation planned to go to Florida on August 22nd. I really don't want to disapoint my kids and cancel the vacation and it seems as far as work is concerned this is perfect timing. I would love some feedback on how people have felt a week after surgery and if a vacation seems unreasonable (I can just relax at the hotel while the family does the amusement parks). thanks for any input you might have.
