  1. @@#9grammy, thanks for the info. I do like the G2 so that is a plus. I like the fruit juices even in the diet. I've tried cutting back on the soda, not a ot of luck yet but getting a litte easier. I will open one and have a few sips, back in the fridge for another sip later. I can make last 3 - 4 hours, at least before it loses it's carbonation. I need one of those can lids to put on.

I don't have a date as of yet. I do my oral surgery next week and then the psych eval. That will finish everything. I don't know if they can do it before the holidays, I am thinking probably after the first of the year. I am planning a trip to Texas the day after Christmas to see my niece and I kind of hate to miss it but I will wait and see. My concern is if I have it close to then the possibility of having problems.

  2. HELP !! I am going in the wrong direction !! Told my doc today that his scale was wrong, It says 336 and mine says 320. He assured me his was right as to what they spent for it. I have the dial on mine and I want it to be right. Told me again to cut back on carbs and told him that I was only eating one starchy card per day. Small potato, Pasta, toast, etc. He believe that my inability to exercise is part of the problem. I cannot walk more than once around the driveway before I have to sit down due to the back pain, even using my walker. That was his response when I asked how my

A1C can come down and lose no weight, and gained some even. A1C was 8.2 from 8.9. Dying to get to the 7's.
A Maybe it is time to get an electronic scale.

I don't drink coffee but drink a lot of diet soda. Trying to figure out how to handle that when I can no longer have it. I hat drinking Water and I know that will be an issue. Can we drink gatorade since it has some sugar. Crystal light is fine but I like the great value from Walmart better.

Anyone having an issue giving up carbonation ?

Glad to know everyone is doing well.

  4. @@traveler60 so sorry about the ankle. Don't let it get you down though, you have come to far and your surgery is right around the corner. But I understand wanting to munch on the candy, been there myself and easier said than done. Just do the best you can. Prayers for you and next week.

@@Kathy812, sounds like you are coming along well. I have not quite comprehended the mushies yet. What can be good that is mushed up ? But I guess if it is more than liquid it may be quite good.

  5. Hi everyone, not been here for a couple of days and looks like I have some reading to catch up on.

First, my cousin who had 4 bypasses on Tuesday is doing very well. She was up today and walked around the nurses station. Swore to no more smoking as did her daughter and husband. She will be out of ICU tomorrow.

I am done with all medical tests required, at least I hope they don't throw anything else at me. I have to get my A1C checked when I go to my dr next week. And I have the psych evaluation on Tuesday. Last thing is the oral surgery I have to do on NOv 13th. Then I will meet with the doctor again and the nutritionist. I am hoping to get this done before the end of the year, but just have a feeling it may be after. Awfully close to the holidays and people being off work.

I have to get my A1C down a little more before it is checked next week. I've been having a Protein Drink for Breakfast and salad or my main meal at lunch. If I do the main meal then I have salad in the evening for dinner.< /p>

Since I had to fast for the cath test I have not been very hungry since then so I am taking advantage of it. But still having something so my body does not think I am starving it.

@@Kathy812, how are you feeling ? How long do you stay on the liquids ? Do you get the wonderful Jello yet ?

  6. Kathy, good to hear that you are doing well, I know the pain will get better with time, I am glad that you said you never wondered why you did this. We know what will be on the other side for us and none of us should question our motive.

Lady, good luck tomorrow and keep us posted. So excited for both you and Kathy.

Had my cardiac cath today and came away with a healthy heart - no blockages and good heart muscle. It was a long day most of it laying on my back,, Really was ready to ask for a gun. The procedure was a cinch it is all the laying flat that you have to do. But very happy with theoutcome.

Prayers for my cousin Susan, while I was getting good news she was at another local hospital having 4 bypasses done. Feel so bad for her but I know this will make her feel better.

    Night, see all tomorrow

  7. Kathy, so glad that everything went well for you, outside of the csection comparison. I was wondering which would be worse, the surgery or birth ? I had my son naturally, with no drugs. Can't imagine anything being worse than that was. It will be better day by day. Keep us posted as you feel up to it !! Prayers are with you

  8. Happy Birthday Beachgal !! Hope that your day has been a great one !

Been thinking about Kathy today. I am sure she did fine and cannot wait to hear from her.

I don't remember if I posted but I will be having a cardiac cath on Tuesday. They are not certain there is anything there but the camera images were not 100% so they want to be sure they did not miss anything. Keep your fingers crossed for me !

    Have a good weekend !

  9. Grammy, called today to double check the medicare issue but I forgot to ask when they submit the paperwork as we got off track with things. She said that the 20% is due the day of surgery but since I have medicaid it will be paid by them so I don't have to pay the 20%, She said that medicare only requires BMI over 35, psych evaluation and dietary consult, medicade is the same. I panicked when she said pay the 20% at the hospital.

Still concerned about being able to do the surgery following my test results. Has anyone had blood clots or heart issues and were still able to have the surgery.

    Thanks !

  10. Well, received results from stress test and doppler, Doppler showed several chronic blood clots (DVT) in both legs, small enough though for blood to pass ( in lower legs ) One in left thigh and still have the one in the right leg.

Stress test was a bit inconclusive. They don't know if they did not get good images or if the soft tissue between chest and heart interfered with images. Now cardiologist is calling my doctor next week to see if they think I need a cardiac cath to check for blockages.

OK, now I'm depressed !! If something stops this surgery I will be so disappointed and upset.

  11. Grammy, medicare does have criteria to meet and so far I am on the right track. No one has told me when the request is submitted, I would assume before. Seems strange it may be after surgery. I still will have medicaid as my secondary and they cover it also. I just have to meet my spend down (1000.00) and they should cover the other 20%.

I will get my test results, hopefully by tomorrow. I am guess they did not find anything bad otherwise I would think they would contact me sooner. My biggest question is if the blood clot is still in my right thigh.

  12. Welcome Beachgal, you will like this nice group of ladies, lots of shared experiences, help and support.

All, I had my venous doppler yesterday, It is not a bad test except for laying on my back for nearly an hour. I got to hurting so bad I felt nauseated. She gave me a little break between one leg to the other but did not help much. Got home and took a nap with percocet. Feel better today but a little sore in my back. Anyway, all medical tests are done ! Now I have to have some oral surgery next month. The last thing is my psych evaluation. I should have done that first but it cost so much out of pocket, I waited until now as I now have Medicare. Watch them reject me after all this. What kind of questions do they ask ?

Hope everyone is having a nice day
