Yes, this is normal. I just had surgery on 7,18 and am having the same thing. My doctor prescribed me meds for esophagal spasms and it has really been halping. With time, I see it going away for good. Be patient, and dont get frustrated because I did.

Just be strong! It sounds like you are already on a good start. Just remember if you get bored, you can add some protein and you should keep loosing the weight. On you side! =)
