    GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have started making my list of items I am going to need before and after surgery. I have been to gyms in my neighborhood to find out what they offer and cost of memberships. I even have been in the stores looking at my dream size 10 regularJ. So I have found something’s to distract me, but the surgery is never far from my mind. I call the doctors office to ask questions and make sure they have all my test results and I have my seven week count down going. Thank you all for your word of encouragement and support.

    -Bougie sizes-

Hey my Florida Sleevers, I am in the Orlando area and my surgeon is Dr. Jawad. I wanted to know what size bougie are your surgeons using? Dr. Jawad will be using a 44 french are yours that large?

    -Bougie sizes-

Yes i asked him and he said because with the 44 there are less complications. He sews over the staple line so it will end up being a 42, but that is all he uses. I am almost finished with all my requirements so what do i do?

    GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!

It feels good to know I am not alone. I am so encouraged and excited for my forum friends when they have had procedure and share their experiences and before and after stories. This is life changing for me and so exciting and that explains the insanity.

    GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks you, for all the words of encouragement. I have been on this forum for a while now and have read and prepared my mind for the surgery. I have my list of things to bring to the hospital have samples of Protein drinks and recipe ideas. I am over prepared and over informed. Maybe I need a break from the forum so my focus is not just on the surgery.
  8. I had my gallbladder scan today and it was pretty painless and only about 15-20 minutes. I didn’t even have to get undressed just pulled up my shirt. I could see all my organs on the screen and it was pretty cool. I am past the halfway point to my surgery. I only have two more weight management appointments and some lab work. My packet should be submitted to the insurance company the first week of October. I am looking forward to a healthy, happier future.

    What was your Bougie Size?

My doctor will be using 44 bougie and he sutures over the staple line so it will end up be more like a 42. His past patients have had great results, so I think your 40 will be fine.

    irrregular menstrual cycles

I have been wondering if the weight loss would help with my heavy menstrual cycles and shorten the cycle. Now at my heaviest it last about 6-7 days and the first few are heavy and I have to take Iron supplements.

  13. Question for all the pro-sleevers, is there anyone on here that has lost and maintained the weight loss for 5 yrs or more. I am afraid that the once I have the surgery and loose all my weight that it will creep back on like all my other diets and failed attempts. Are there any studies or testimonials from past sleevers that can say, yes this works and I have kept the weight off.

Hi my Florida people. I live in the Orlando area and will be having my surgery sometime in October hopefully. Dr. Jawad is my surgeon and I have two more weight management appointments with his office and my gallbladder scan and lab work and I am all done. I see there are a few Dr. Jawad patients on here. Have any of you had the surgery, and how was your experience.

Question for mothers who have been sleeved????

I just want to take the time and thank all the mothers for there wonderful suggestions and words of encouragement. My daughter is 8 and can do most things for herself and she is a wonderful helper. I am just going to cleaning up and stock up the house before my surgery so I have everything I need. My sister will be there to help with anything I might need after surgery; and I am hoping I have a quick and painless recovery.
  18. Hi Sleever’s I have a question. I am a single mother who will be having my surgery in November and I wanted to know how you all handled caring for your children or households after the surgery. Were you to sore to prepare meals or to exhausted to help your kids with home work. Did you have strength to clean up the house? How long were you down? How long will I need help from friends and family before I can start mommy duty again?

Emergency Surgery 1 month after being sleeved

WOW!! Is all I can say. Thank you for sharing. What I got from your post is that not all pain is normal and we need to be in tone with our bodies.
  20. I had my 4th weight management appointment today and I have lost 11 lbs. I have two more appointments before my packet is sent to the insurance company for approval. I am so excited because I am getting closer to my surgery. I asked the nurse today about what size tube the doctor using during the procedure and she said it was 15 cc; I am not sure how big that is. I have been reading about some of your pre-op diets and restrictions, and I was told my will be two weeks of high Protein, low carb and 24 hours before surgery to use a suppository or milk of magnesia that’s it. I cant solid food not just liquids or shakes
  21. I work in a small office of about 10 people, who love to bake Cookies, cakes, pies and love to buy donuts. They place these items in the break room that is across the hall from my office. So I can smell and see all these goodies all day. I haven't told anyone but my supervisor about my upcoming wls and struggle with them bringing in all these tempting treats. Should I tell them???

What was the worst part after surgery ?

You will do well and have a smooth recovery. It is normal to have second thoughts and fears, but you have come this far don't stop. You have alot of cheerleaders on here and we are here if you have any other questions.

    For the ladies,VSG and PCOS

    What is PCOS ????
  24. You're right, that’s why I haven’t said anything to them because I don't want them to feel obligated to change or stop doing what they love. I know I need to learn more self control and after my surgery I wont be able to indulge on those treats anymore. I just have to close my office door so I don't have to smell or look at the food any more.
