I'm in the Kansas City area. I'll be having my surgery at Menorah with Drs Malley and Fearing.

Yes, but I'm still waiting for my date! I got my insurance approval on July 15th. They said now just sit back and wait for the schedular to call me. Uggghhh! Why so long of a wait? The office said my surgery date will probably be in 4 weeks. I also am eating everything and going out to eat my favorite foods. Kind of saying goodbye. LOL! Linda

I may be September, but hopefully August! I have completed all steps. The insurance approval was received July 15th, so now am waiting for the scheduler to call. I was told the surgery would be in 'about' 4 weeks! Excited, nervous....Not looking forward to two week pre-op diet!

Hi Tina. I'm Linda from Independence, Mo.My surgery will be at Menorah with Drs. Malley and Fearing also. I'm hoping the surgery will be around the first of September or before. I got my insurance approval letter a week ago Friday and am just (im)patiently waiting for Rachel from scheduling to call!

Oh, I know it will be so hard! I will be scheduled anyday now and expect to be on the liquid diet within the next couple of weeks. I am NOT looking forward to it, but I AM looking forward to all the things I'll be able to do when I have lost the weight. I don't know if this will help for you, but I'm going to make a list of all the things I am looking forward to and look at it often. Example: Drive the car without the steering wheel rubbing my belly. Get out of the car without having to use the tilt steering wheel. Ride the roller coaster-they'll be able to get the seat belt on me!! Good luck. We're all rooting for you! Linda

I'm Linda from near Kansas City Missouri. I started trying to get banded backed in 2008. I kept getting setbacks with my insurance and kind of gave up. Then earlier this year I got a post card from Malley Surgical Center about the gastric sleeve and that was it! My insurance is finally approved and now I am just waiting to hear a date. It's driving me crazy waiting. I received my approval letter a week ago Friday. The office said it would most likely be in about 4 weeks. My surgeons will be Drs. Malley and Fearing. I'm off to read all the information here. Thank you all for being here!
