  1. Happy 38th Birthday Ask4me1!

  2. Hey there! I'm also having surgery with Dr. Hollis 8-12-11. If you could give me some kind of "heads-up" on what to expect that would be great! The only things I am kind of worried about is the pain and HAIR LOSS!!!! Congrats on being banded!

  3. I will try thin soup haven't had that yet. Any other suggestions please share
  4. Shakes, Popsicles, I do broth, Jello that just frustrates me..... Has anybody had, Grits, mashed potatoes or eggs 4/5 days out? I'm hungry and need more than shakes and popsicles. I need something more than liquid

    Amounts of food

Before your first fill do you have to worry about food such as meat, pasta, and or bread getting stuck or does that happen only after the first fill and after. i am assuming that there is no restriction to anything going down before the first fill at least. Is that true?
  6. Just got my band 7/27/11. When you guys say no restriction, do you guys mean y'all can eat absoulutely anything without it getting stuck or caught up? Breads, pasta, chicken, steak? Im just asking, just got mine done and Im still on liquids but wanted to know if there is any restriction in the beginning or the hole down there is the same size its always been till a fill
  7. It went quite well and the pain afterwards was nothing, compared to what I expecting. Just a lil sore in middle of chest. I have very low pain tolerance. The pain feels like a soreness from working out hard the next day after not working out in months... Not asthmatic but did have to take albuterol treatments to stop coughing in recovery. That was my only hiccup in surgery so I stayed a lil longer in recovery than most, plus I had a nurse that cared for me like I was her child. I was greatful for that. Drinking water with no problems, had chicken broth, and plenty of sugar free popsicles they are they best. Will eat jello next. As far as scars all 5 of them are derma bonded, which doc says should heal good.(hope so)... They also corrected hiatal hernia, that I didn't know I had. Thats all I can think of for now... So I look forward going from 232 now to 190/185. All my weight is in the belly area so I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!

    Lap Band or Gastric Bypass

Hello I'm getting banded at 6 am July 27. I chose the band bc it was reversible my insurance BCBS covered either at 100% just had to do 5 weight loss visits. I also chose the band bc I did not want to look like a shriveled up person on drugs, and what i mean by that is, if i'm losing too much weight I can get the band adjusted. With the sleeve or gastric bypass when you drop the weight there is nothing to adjust to slow the weight loss. I'm just glad my ins covers it 100% with no out of pocket bc I have sleep apnea and diabetic with high chols, so i'm anxious to stop taking the meds
  9. Getting Banded at 6am tomm. Kinda scared of prebanded life and the procedure. 249 start 232 preop diet, trying to get to 190/185.
