  1. Frustration is abound. I had my surgery on Aug 2nd. Filled..unfilled...Filled...filled, now back for an unfill. Its hard to find that "sweetspot" with the lapband. There are so many variables and EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. I am going back in tomorrow after being filled last wed. Thank god my husband was out of town all week, it has been difficult weekend and I was try ing to make the best of a bad situation. Thinking I could handle eating 1 TBL at a time and spitting it up. TG is right around the corner and its just me and the spouse. I will cook the TG dinner as always, but probably wont get to eat a bit of it. I dont really care, I just want to continue to lose weight, but not spitting it up. Good Luck. Just know that everyone is different and all the food that you can or cant eat varies as well.

  2. <BR>yes you will have some swelling but you should be able to get liquids down. i would call your doc and see if you need a slight unfill, you dont want to get dehydrated. just my 2 cents <IMG class=bbc_emoticon alt= src="http://cdn.lapbandtalk.com/public/style_emoticons/%3C#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif"><BR>
<BR><BR><BR>It was alittle better on day 2...Still have issues with cold items. Like tea. Easier if I drink hot tea. Or coffee. Anything cold seems to stick and make me burp. :( Thanks for the 2 cents...:D hehehe <BR><IMG class=bbc_emoticon alt= src="http://cdn.lapbandtalk.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif">

  3. Wow..You can remember the steps. But your right , it is easier when you can go back and read how you were feeling. I had a Day 5 and 6 where I was alittle sad. Not about food, just sad that food seemed so important to me. Maybe because I am hungry or my stomach or my mind thinks I am hungry. So alittle regret creeped in. Its gone now. We are heading in the same direction. I am at 205 now and 130 is my goal. I will settle for 140 I am sure I will know when I actually get to the point where I am my healthiest. I am so excited for you and you will remember all the information is still stored in your head. YOu have been a great help to me and I am here for you too. I need to update my blog as well..:D Keep Blogging :D

    :)

  4. It sounds mentally you are right where you need to be! The most important thing is to follow your dr's instructions to a "T" right now. Do not advance any quicker than he/she has allowed you do. You need to make sure you are healed and are ready to advance to the next stage before you try to eat the next level of foods. After the first 6-8 wks then you might be able to speed it up but not before. Getting stuck now would be the worst thing for you. Each meal should take 20-30 minutes and you should be getting 60-80 grams of Protein a day in equal portion if possible. As for the shakes I try to have my take longer..like 45 minutes. I still have a shake everyday for breakfast and it lasts for 3-4 hours. Just asking..did your dr say it was ok for you to do the WII Fit Plus Aerobic workout? Keep in mind every dr is different but a lot of doctors do not allow that type of workouts for the first month..they only allow walking BUT if your dr has released you to workout then go for it! Stay positive..each day will get better!

Hey Fin, Its good to know mentally I am in a normal place. Its doesnt feel normal. Its hard to have a meal last 20-30 minutes when Its only about 1/4 cup fo food to beging with. Or 4 oz of liquid shake. And no my doc did not say it way ok to do the wii fit. Its just stepping up and off of the wii board. I walk everyday to get the paper at the end of the road. LOL 1/4 mile. Just thought getting a bit of heart rate involved would be better. LOL. My doc is in Sturgis with all the Bad Biker Dudes ...LOL. I am just feeling tired I suppose and missing my old way of life. It will be a week Tues. I kinda figured I would feel loss after the surgery. things arent quite the same on the homefront with husband and his eating habits. So that is taking its toll on me as well. He is a feeder and its all I can do to Convince him No means NO ! (Especially when I want to say Yes) :( I am sure as the days go by it will get easier to be Me. Now At almost 50 yrs old, I will try to find who that person is. Also, I havent been smoking. Never been a big smoker, but an angry smoker. That has lost its charm lately. Which is good. I needed and wanted to quit anyway. Just seems like every vice I had that was somewhat enjoyable, eating, drinking wine, and smoking have all left me. Not sure what to do with myself now. Thanks for listening and the well needed advice. xoxo

  5. Time heals everything!!! You should be good to go by Tuesday but remember it will be your first day back and expect to be tired & a little worn out. Make sure you pre plan your meals. This will make your day a lot smoother. When you get home you will be hungry and tired. If possible while you are at work get up and walk around as often as possible..this will help you heal better & quicker! Your first 4-6 weeks is really your healing phase..yes you lose weight but it really is to lay the ground for which the rest of your journey..the better you heal the better your journey will be. This growling your hear is more than likely the gases they used the bloat your tummy in order to do the procedure..it is just rumbling around. Stay happy! Having a positive attitude will allow you to reach your goals! Take care!

Thanks so much for the good information. I am very tired now. And feel hungry. Will make a plan fo rmeals, but getting up and moving around is not much of an option, unless I go to the little girls room. I am at front receiption desk . CAnt leave it without back up. :(

  6. <BR>Glad to hear you are doing well <IMG class=bbc_emoticon alt= src="http://cdn.lapbandtalk.com/public/style_emoticons/%3C#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif"><BR>

  7. Best wishes and go slow for sure. Walking a little helps to get all things moving. You will feel so much better a day or two. Congrat's. Keep posting it is an exciting journey and we all want to hear how you are doing. Again, Best wishes imaluckydog

Thanks for the continued support. I feel so much better on day 3. Getting used to the fact that I cant eat alot and dont want to eat alot is wonderful. !!! I think i should have done this 3 years ago, but chickened out...Oh well...A new start ..a new day.

  8. 14TH DAY POST SURGERY. I AM DOWN 14 LBS. I CAN EAT EVERYTHING BUT BREAD PRODUCTS. I NEED TO HAVE A FILL. I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2 MORE WEEKS. I AM REALLY HAPPY SO FAR.

So glad you are doing so well. 14 lbs...thats great. So far I am down 11 from the beginning of my pre surgery diet. Looking at 6 lbs away from the 200 mark. That would be nice to pass by ! Keep up the good work and keep me posted ! YEAH ! US !!!

  9. So glad you are feeling better. Even though it's hard remember to keep up your strength and eat! Surgery is a major assault on your body and without proper nutrition it will rebel and take longer to heal.

    Good luck

I am so taking your advice. It is an assult ...I just have to remember to be a good patient and I am trying very hard and I THINK I am Succeeding ! :D

  10. You will feel better soon , just rest and take some short walks as much as you can bear to . I also had a Hiatal Hernia so I know what you are going though right now . Happy to hear you are doing great !

I do feel much better. Not on the pain meds anymore. Nausea...no thank you. Am feeling alot better today.

  11. Rest and plan to take good care of yourself. Body needs to heal from inside to out! Walking is excellent but not so much you get tired. Little spurts keeps things moving. Your are doing great.

Best wishes and keep posting. Imaluckydog banned 2 years, lost 110 pounds and in recovery from "Nip and Tuck"

Thanks and good luck with the nip and tuck recovery. Will need a reduction and lift after its all said and done, myself. :D

  12. I think every who has contemplated getting the band has had the same thoughts as you. I know I have. The board is here to vent and to get support. Good luck with your surgery.

Thanks so much. two more days...Ironically, I am not nervous anymore. Not today or yesterday anyway...LOL...Thanks so much for the support. Suppose I will Blog something after my surgery. :D

  13. When people say "it's a tool" you need to really understand what that means. My band contributes to my weight loss about 15%. The rest of it is extreme diet and nutrition and very intense workouts. With that, I still only lose half of a pound a week. If you have a lot to lose, the weight will come off very quickly. But if you are like me and only have 50-60 lbs to lose....boy, is this process ever slow!

Im glad I paid 14K and had the surgery. Its an easy surgery. Lots of learning to do afterwards. Lots of throwing up, eating the wrong foods and sticking to diets. THAT part is a lot harder than you realize. Wish you the best

Thanks so much Kelly..After reading the good and bad I am understanding more about it. I am glad to know that you are happy with your success and have done well, not without hardships. Nobody every said life was easy, I guess theres a reason why no one ever said that..LOL. Thanks again and good luck in your continued journey.
