  1. I just had my band removed today for health reasons! :( I was very happy with my band and had actually just hit my goal weight. My fear is that I will gain back all the weight now... has anyone out there kept the weight off after band removal? Any tips? On top of all this stress I am 9 weeks pregnant so I want to be healthy for the baby ad well!!!

  2. its been a while so I wanted to see how all of you did!! Im 7 weeks pregnant...my band slipped a while back so we took all the Fluid out to let it try to repair....then a few weeks later I found out i was pregnant...yesterday my band started bothering me again...feels so tight that I can't even keep Water down! I've heard of people having surgery to fix bands while pregnant but not this early...what can they do?? Im terrified! :( :( :(

  3. I was banded in July 2011...and was doing great until this may (2012)....i couldnt keep anything down and had a feeling that my band had slipped! Went to the doc and sure enough it was a bad slip...they took ALL my Fluid out hoping it would repair it self in time. After taking the fluid out I felt great...just took it easy on my stomach! This were going good ...then I found out I was pregnant. Im now 7 weeks pregnant and as of last night the same symptoms I had with the slip are back!!! I can't keep ANYTHING down...even water!! Im scared out if my mind bc they already took all the fluid out so I don't know what else to do and I have to get something in my stomach for the baby!!! Im so scared and tired of being in pain that I am leaning towards getting the band removed..but not sure what I'll do for the next 9 months...Im terrified that I'll loose or harm my baby!!! :(

  4. I'm so glad you posted this b/c I'm feeling the same way...I feel hungry all the time and I'm so scared that I have streched my pouch but I keep hearing "don't worry, you're fine" and my 1st fill is on Aug 18th...I had surgery July 19 and have lost 17 lbs since, but I feel like I'm starving so I hope this 1st fill does it for me because my husband is deployed and will be home on leave the middle of December so I want to do the best I can to surprise him with my weight loss!! :)

  5. Welcome to our forum and congratulations on your surgery. Very brave of you to do this while he is deployed. All the best to you and hope that you are surviving the heat ok. Stay hydrated! We look forward to progress updates. The next time you talk to your husband, tell him thank you for his service to our nation and for his personal sacrifice. It is deeply appreciated!

    Take good care,

    Melinda

Aaaww thank you! We dont get many thank you's!! He says it's just his job...its what he loves to do, so I will be here supporting him until he's finally home! :) I think it's actually easier on me to do this while he's gone b/c he's a friend chicken, mashed taters kind of guy so now I don't have the temptations in front of me in my own kitchen on a nightly basis! I hope I can keep on target though with out his motivation skills! :)

  6. HI! I was just rebanded 4 days ago, I am also a military wife with a deployed hubby. I am also on a liquid diet for about 2.5 more weeks! Not sure if I'll make it!

Tell me about it!! I'm dying right now ...my dad is here visiting and I have a 3 year old so they still have to eat and I just want some cottage cheese or even mashed potatoes!! I'M FREAKING STARVING!!! I just want to eat! AAGGHH!!! LOL!

  7. Hi everyone! Just wanted to drop a line and say that the surgery went really well. I was banded last Friday July 22 and had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time. I feel better than I thought I would, but the shoulder pain feels worse than yesterday. Love the heating pad for that! I am on clear liquids only for 5 days and I am feeling hungry but the fear of causing my band to slip by skipping ahead will keep me from cheating. Happy to finally be on this side of the surgery!:bananajump:

Congrats!!! I was banded the 19th and also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time! The pain in the shoulder was...well a pain! I think my 'gas' pains was the worst of it all though!! Mine finally subsided last night...was the 1st night I slept comfortably!! Well good luck with the liquid diet...Im so bored with it now and I'm ready for the mushy stage but like you I'm scared to mess anything up so I WILL NOT cheat!!!

  8. I was just banded this week and I was, in the back of my mind, wondering the same thing b/c my husband is army. The 'job' he has in the army would really only send us to Cuba or Germany!!! My husband is currently in Cuba for a year on an unaccompanied tour so I won't be going there anytime soon!!! BUT I would LOVE to go to Germany one day and was hoping this woludn't hold us back!

  9. aagghh I feel the same way! I'm so tired of Soup, Jello and pudding!! I have a 3 year old and my husband is deployed so I still have to cook and feed my son...it's so hard b/c I want to eat with him!! Heck right now I'd kill for a small bowl of cottage cheese!! I"m so ready for the 'mushy' stage!! I was banded on the 19th so I still have a way to go....

  10. OMG I'm not alone!! I was banded on Tuesday and I have been STARVING!! I was so hungry yesterday that I felt like I was going to pass out! I had some sugar free pudding and it seemed to help...BUT my mom was here and made tacos (my FAV) for her and my son for dinner...just the smell made me even more hungry! Today was a little better but I'm so totally ready for these mushies foods...I LOVE cottage cheese and I have been itching to have a bite or two!! These Soups just aren't cutting it!! Cant wait to see my surgeron again and see how I'm doing...and see when I can move out of this liquid stage!!

  11. Hello...I'm new here and new to this lap band world! :) I was banded just a few days ago- 7-19-11 so I'm still recovering and still on liquids. I'm getting pretty bored already with the liquid diet BUT I"m looking forward to a new life!!!

I am a very very proud army wife and my husband is currently on his 4th deployment away from us!! He is going to be very shocked when he gets home 10 months from now and sees my progress!!! :) He does know that I got the surgery done but I don't plan on sending him any pictures of my progress just so I can surprise him!! :) Well off to walk some of this bloated feeling off! Still in pain when I get up and down and i"m sure hoping that subsides soon!!!

    Thanks for having me! :)
