Stupid Question: How Do I Know If I Need Another Fill
S2b replied to S2b's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks 2muchfun, I read it. Very informative. I'll have to read it again. But this is making me learn towards getting a small fill. Thank you ! -
I am sure that may sound like a stupid question to many. But I am so scared of ever being too tight. I have read to many horror stories on here. I am just asking for opinions, of course I will discuss it with my Dr. At my next appointment. I was banded 8/16/11. I have had, I think 4 or 5 fills. I'm not sure because one time I went expecting one, but then we decided not too. So then I messed up my count. I'll have to ask. LOL My last fill was 8 weeks ago. My first fill that I could really fill restriction. The other fills I could only feel tighter for about 2-3 weeks. I have been going every 2 months for a fill since last October. Now I am 8 weeks out from that last fill and I am noticing I am definitely getting hungry in between meals, I can eat more, yes, I know that doesn't mean I should, but I can so sometimes I do. Or I find myself having a snack to hold me over between lunch and dinner. I was hoping this would be the fill to get and keep me in the green. I know I still have more restiction then in the past because I have to make sure I chew and eat slowly or I will feel it where before in the past that wouldn't make a difference. I could pretty much eat normal. I hope I'm making sense. LOL ! I have lost 55 pounds so far. I am happy about that although I was hoping for more at this point. Thank you !

Stupid Question: How Do I Know If I Need Another Fill
S2b replied to S2b's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Elcee, I will discuss with my Doc and let him make the final discussion. Jenine, Thanks for the LOL !!!!! I am not feeling full after a small meal. Today for Breakfast, I had 1 egg, shredded cheese and a little bit of Turkey sausage crumbles. I was still hungry afterwards. I held it off for a while, I just had a Greek yogurt. I'll have to discuss it all with my doc and see what he thinks. I only lost 6 pounds since my last fill. But I definitely do not want to ever be too tight. Maybe he can give me just a tiny amount. -

I am so glad I found this thread. I had my fourth fill last Thursday and I have never had this much restriction before. I can get down liguids and shakes no problem. But I am having a hard time with other things, even some mushies, just had yogurt and it took a while to get it all down. Maybe I just need to get used to feeling what restriction is like. Is this normal ? I haven't PB'D, Although I have had a couple of incidents where it has hurt going down. I was starting to get concerned, but maybe I'll give it another couple of days before I worry about it. Thanks, Terri

My Story in a nut shell... Growing up I was overweight, I had the skinny younger sister so that was though. I was always trying different diets. In my early 20's I finally started dating, my future husband. I joined nutra system and lost 60 pounds. My largest weight loss ever. Over the years and with the birth of 2 children it all came back plus more. I tried different diets through out the years, losing some here and there but always gaining it back plus more. In 2007 I went for my first mammogram at 40 years old, and was diagnosed with breast cancer. I did the chemo. And radiation. One week after finishing treatment my husband told me "he" wasn't happy and told me he wanted a divorce. I went right into survivor mode again, this time to save my marriage. He stayed in the home for 2 more years but emotionally he was already checked out. In 2010 he had me served with divorce papers at my work, I was totally shocked, I had no idea he had even spoken to a lawyer. He moved out that night. Fast forward to last year, I decided it was time I started taking care of my self I was determined to take of this weight and started looking into the lap band. My oncologist approved my choice and that was all it took. Once I knew she supported it I started going to the seminars and finding my Dr. My surgery was August 2011. I have lost 51 pounds and I am feeling better than ever, emotionally and physically. I am about half way to my goal. And excited to be on this new journey. Here's to all of us getting stronger every day !! Terri

Personal goal for March~ get a handle On this and start losing again. Date banded~ 8/16/11 Total weight loss since banding/pre op diet~ 47 What is your favorite outdoor excercise/activity~ walking ! I am A breast cancer 3Day for the cure walker, so I love training outside walking several miles. I also would like to start a couch to 5K program this month.

Post Op Visit With Nutrition Dr. And Physical Therapist.
S2b posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just passed my 6 month post op. and have to make my appt. with my nutritionalist and pysical therapist that I visited before the surgery. This may be a stupid question, but is this really neccasary ? I am having no problems and I am physically in the best I have been in years. It's just an inconvenience. I made the appt.'s it's just that they are an hour away. I will go. Just wondering if this is something most do. -
Same. 185. I've been stuck at this weight for a month now. Terri V.

Stayed the same 185. I won't be making my February goal. My birthday is march 9th. My goal is to be in the 70's by then. My bad habit, and probably why I am not loosing, is picking. When I am making dinner for my kids. I pick at it taking a bite here or there. I am under calorie goal so I think I am safe. Obviously NOT. From now on going forward...NO MORE !! Terri V
