  1. MyFitnessPal you say? Thanks! I had no idea that existed!
  2. I'm over 2 months out of surgery and it still sometimes hurts me to eat or drink. For instance, when I start drinking my first bottle of Water for the day, the first few sips hurt my tummy but then it usually stops. The same thing happens with the first few bites of food, regardless of how soft the food is or the size of the bite. Does this happen to anyone else? When will it stop? On a positive note, the gurgling that I used to feel all the time when I would eat or drink only happens now when I get full. If I under eat my sleeve, it doesn't usually happen.
  3. I love beans more than words can express. I wanna make this. Do you have the nutritional info?
  4. Centrum VitaCraves are the first multivitamins that I've been able to take that cause me absolutely no issues. Bariatric Advantage and Celebrate vitamins make me throw up.
  5. I'm still on pantoprazole and I wouldn't dream of quitting them yet. I still have breakthrough acid. When it gets bad, I start popping a Prilosec at bedtime.
  6. A friend of mine is planning on lap band surgery as well. I really wish she'd choose a different surgery.
  7. Congratulations! My husband and I are planning to adopt as well. How was the process for you, if you don't mind the question?
  8. it took me a week to have a BM and it was horrible. I had severe constipation. I still don't poop normally. It's my least favorite thing about the surgery.
  9. be warned, the texture is more frittata than quiche, but it's pretty yummy.
  10. My doctor prescribed me Vicodin for pain (unrelated to the surgery) and I've been taking it for almost 2 months without issue.
  11. This week is the first one where I've felt 100% back to normal. I'm positive that it's because I finally started taking vitamins. It's so nice to feel like myself again, I can't even express it.
  12. Gosh, please let me be in the skinny 70%.
  13. Cheer up, Buttercup! 3 lbs lost in a week is normal. I have many weeks of 3 lbs weight loss and I feel like I'm losing at a really solid pace. I usually lose 2-4 lbs per week (some more, some less). It's true that this is an amount of weight that could be lost by dieting, but we didn't get sleeved to accelerate our weight loss (I hope). We got sleeved to help us make the necessary dietary changes to lose weight and keep it off. It's a tool to help us mend our shitty relationships with food. The fact that the weight comes off quickly is a byproduct. As far as the stalls, I think you may be focusing on the negative. Not all stalls last for weeks. The 2nd-3rd week stall that most of us seem to get only lasted a week for me. It was a frustrating week, but I knew it couldn't last forever. If you take a step back and look at things logically, you'll realize that sticking to your plan cannot help but yield results. Calories in/calories out. It's as simple as that. Getting your Protein in will help to preserve your muscle mass. Your muscles are necessary to efficiently burn fat. Restricting your carbs to a reasonable amount will force your body to use your fat stores for energy. Water is like the oil that makes the machine perform at it best. I'm sure you're doing everything that you're supposed to be doing, and I understand how upsetting it can be to do everything right and not have things turn out the way you expected. What's worse is that I'm sure you feel pretty crappy in comparison to the way you felt before surgery. Your energy is down, you don't understand your body anymore, eating and drinking have become a chore, and the whole thing really freaking sucks. Try to focus on the fact that this surgery WORKS. It works if you work your sleeve. You're gonna get there. I promise on my own Little Sleevie Wonder.
  14. You look great. I <3 pencil skirts.
  15. Words to live by. Fabienne: Pot bellies (...) on a woman, a pot belly is very sexy. The rest of you is normal. Normal face, normal legs, normal hips, normal ass, but with a big, perfectly round pot belly. If I had one, I'd wear a tee-shirt two sizes too small to accentuate it. Butch: You think guys would find that attractive? Fabienne: I don't give a damn what men find attractive. It's unfortunate what we find pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the eye is seldom the same.
  16. You've done a phenomenal job. Congratulations.
  17. I'm sure it's probably more carbs that you would normally want, but I had sushi at 6 weeks out and it didn't slow my weight loss or disagree with me. I was only able to eat 1 and a half pieces of a seared ahi roll before I was quite full. I wouldn't make it a habit in the losing stage, but if you have a craving go for it.
  18. I miss corn so much, but I was told to stay away from it until about the 4th month when I can start eating regular salad again.
  19. mnbsleeve - I read a few of the comments and it does seem that people left the cottage cheese out when they made their own versions of this recipe. I would say to go ahead and experiment. Since it's basically just eggs and filling, the worst case scenario is that you make a frittata.
  20. I made this recipe tonight for crustless, low carb quiche. I used mushrooms and onions instead of ham and broccoli and it was GREAT: http://recipes.spark...sp?recipe=29099 Ingredients 1 cup (not packed), non fat cottage cheese 2 cups egg substitute, liquid (Egg Beaters, or whites) 1/2 cup broccoli, cooked, chopped (or whatever you like) 1/2 cup ham, extra lean, (5% fat), diced (or whatever you like) 1/2 cup Cheddar or Colby Cheese, Low Fat, shredded Salt & Pepper, to taste Cooking Spray Directions Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a pie dish sprayed with Pam or other cooking spray. Place on cookie sheet in oven. Bake approximately 45 minutes or until center is just set. Makes 6 servings. Variations: Substitute different meats, cheese, and veggies such as: turkey bacon, sausage reduced fat swiss, mozzarella, or feta spinach, peppers, onions, asparagus This recipe makes 6 traditional servings. 126.4 calories, 19g of Protein, 2.2g of carbohydrates per serving.
  21. The best advice that I can give you is to follow your plan, especially protein, water, and vitamins, as closely as possible. I didn't and even though my weight loss had been really great so far (46 lbs gone in 2 months!), I started to feel really terrible. I'm getting on plan now and it's already making a difference in the way I feel. Good luck to you!
  22. Also, hooray for women with big feet! I shop for shoes exclusively online. Thank goodness for Zappos!
  23. I'm still in size 12 shoes, but they are obviously loose. I never wore wides to begin with, so I'm hoping my current shoes are only loose from being broken in. There's no way feet as long as mine will comfortably fit into size 11 shoes. LOL
