The slimes.... can anyone explain them?
@MeginNola-Do you get the slimies with eggs even if it is a bite? (just curious.-My surgery date is close) @ Becca-Same to you. Is the portion of hamburger meat irrelevant?

Looking For Gastric Sleeve Seminar/surgeons In San Diego Area
If you don't get answers you might want to search for surgeons of excellence in her area. http://www.surgicalr...g/locate/asmbs/ Actually I will re-phrase that. I would first search for surgeons of excellence and THEN ask others their opinion about them.

Anything you wish you have known/done before surgery that you didn't?
Thanks for this. It reminds me to also take my neti pot, just in case. Actually, I will start using it today to hopefully have it under control.

Whip out your crystal balls please!
Hello! We are planning a trip to Europe in March. It is the only time of the year we can go. I will only be 4 months out and not at goal, of course. (I need to lose 100 pounds). This is where your crystal balls come in. How will I feel? Will my energy levels be high or will I still be recovering? Will I be able to eat "normally" by then? ( I mean our new normal, of course.) Will I be able to eat Desserts and non Protein foods once in a while? Lastly, I am thinking I will be at least 40 pounds lighter. Is this a reasonable expectation? I know I am asking you to predict the future. LOL Indulge me will ya? :plane:

All I have to say is what a difference a year makes
Great story! You look wonderful with your little black dress. Believe it or not, I think you carried your weight very nicely on your wedding day. Of course, you are probably healthier and a whole lot happier now. Congratulations and thanks for stopping by. Very inspirational.

Nov 16th is my new birthday!!
Try GNC. They will let you return opened containers if you don't like it. Also, for a "juicy" taste (as opposed to milky) try the Isopure bottles. They sell them there as well. Don't buy too much though, since I have read here that our taste buds change.

Breast Reduction and Lift Before Sleeve
I get the impression the original poster has already had a breast reduction and is wondering if she will lose the small breasts she now has. Hopefully she comes back to clarify. I got tired of waiting 20 plus years to be thin and got a breast reduction 6 years ago. Best decision I ever made. I think I will end up with saggy, SMALL deflated breasts and I am ok with that! :biggrin2: I can't imagine walking the halls after VSG with huge breasts that used to reach my waist! :nono: I hope someone tells us HOW small they will get. LOL

Another bump in the road

Excited Waiting For Gastric Sleeve Surgery Insurance Approval
I'm so sorry! If you read above that is exactly what I had to provide. Seems the insurance coordinator at your surgeons office is inexperienced and that is terrible. Aaaaaah! Have hope though. Hopefully it is all they need!

How do I talk to my doctor?
I totally agree with Thinoneday. Keep researching the surgery so you become & sound informed. I would say something like " Not sure if you remember but we have discussed my weight many times. I have done such and such to lose it but it keeps coming back and I am worried. I have researched blah blah surgery and I know it will help me be healthier and live longer. I would like a referral from you to such and such surgeon." Be prepared to answer questions such as why did you pick Sleeve Gastrectomy or comments such as "I think you just need to eat less and exercise". Change primary doctor if you have to. Good luck. Keep us updated! Don't give up, but research , research, research. This is permanent and you are very young! Consider going to a therapist that specializes in bariatric surgery to help you through this. Big hug.
