  1. I have a date!!! Nov. 16th. Hip Hip Hurray!

  2. Sorry to hear you are in pain. I hope your surgeon finds out what it is soon!

  3. I was approved in less than 72 hours!!!! Phew!

  4. Thanks! You are sweet. :-)

  5. Hi!

I met Dr. Marema this week for the first time. He answered all of my questions. I was pretty much decided before I met him though.

I won't get approved (or not) by my insurance until October, so can't schedule until then.

Have you checked the "band to sleeve" section in this forum? They speak horrors of the band. Not trying to scare you,...

  6. Hi Christin,

I have also picked Dr. Marema. When is your surgery? I am going through insurance hoops and hope for end of November. You are self pay, so it is probably soon.

I live in Jacksonville and had been all over Florida (and the rest of the country) EXCEPT the panhandle, until a month or two ago. We loved it.

    Take care,

  7. Glad to hear surgery went well. How is your heart? I hope you are feeling better!

  8. Came by to say hi. I had not seen your posts for a while and was wondering how you are doing.

  9. Meeting FloraBama tomorrow!

  10. I see your surgery is scheduled for November. I am trying to meet all the requirements by then. Hopefully we will be "November sleeve sisters". :-)

  11. How are you doing wishes?

  12. We need an update! How are you????

  13. Adr I can already see a big difference on your new ticker picture! Congratulations!!!!!

  14. Good to hear from you! I'm glad they took your comment seriously & acted on it. You are on the losers bench! I am so jealous!!! :-)

  15. Happy to hear you are doing great. I remember reading about your complications early on and was wondering how you were doing. The hair thing is inevitable. :-(

I haven't had surgery yet. Hopefully sometime this year. Nice to hear from you!

  16. How are you doing? I have been checking every day hoping to see you. I hope you are recovering nicely.

  17. I read some of your posts. Glad to hear your surgery went well!

  18. How are you feeling?

  19. Hi there!

I haven't picked a surgeon yet. I am leaning towards Dr. Marema at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. However I live MUCH closer to St. Lukes and Dr. Webb is a surgeon of excellence as well. Decisions, decisions. :-)

I would love it if we email one another to talk about this in more detail, if that is ok with you. I listed my email on my profile. Thanks ...

  20. Great to hear. I am a volume eater and those long liquid diets terrify me.

It's a shame we can't be in the same support group but looking forward to seeing you here often!

  21. I'm getting the sleeve as well. Do you know about their pre-op diet? I am hoping it's not one of those long ones I hear about all the time on this site.

  22. I live 45 minutes away from the hospital (Jacksonville). I have other surgeons & hospitals of excellence that are closer but I am leaning for Dr. Marema. Who will be your surgeon?

Melissa spoke to the group after the doctor (forgot his name). I love that she had the surgery there and also the gal that photocopied my insurance card & drivers license. How great to have found you!

  23. Hi FloraBama!

I just got home from the bariatric information session at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. I just read you will be having your surgery there soon. Hopefully we can keep in touch. I would love to hear all about your experience with them.

    Best Wishes,

  24. Hi, I am now in the research process and read one your posts that states you were at a low BMI and even had to gain weight to qualify. I find myself in the same situation. I have no co-morbities (sp?). Did your insurance accept a lower BMI for the 2 year history? Also, did you gain weight and THEN attended your first orientation meeting? When does the official first weigh-in occur? Thanks so much
