    Louisiana Sleevers??!

Just curious... did your Dr. discuss what size sleeve he'd be giving you? I heard it ranges from 30 to 40. My surgeon explained that he uses a size 36. His reasoning was that in the case of leaks, it's not difficult to repair as something smaller.

    Shopping list

My sweet loving supportive fiancee bought a craps load of baby food. We opened one to try and could only eat half between the two of us it was so nasty. Now we have a shelf of baby food and no babies...my mom saw them and started looking for signs of a new baby arriving.

    Louisiana Sleevers??!

Hello! I'm new to this site and would like to know if anyone has gone to Mexico to be sleeved. I'm scheduled for Tijuana Aug. 10 2011
  9. I'm just curious if anyone had a good recommendation of what types of vitiamins I should start taking now. My surgery is a month away in Mexico, but I want to give my body a head start.
  10. I feel your pain, I just try to laugh along. My 7 year old step son likes to call me his "pillow" lol. But in a few months I know it will be different.

    dr garcia in tijuana

I'll be going to Tiajuana for surgery on August 11th and was assigned the same Dr. Garcia as well (a lighter me). Found Dr. Garcia on http://www.obesitysolutionsinternational.com/doctors.php after I asked Sandy about his info. Not sure if you all have already had your surgery, but I also sent in some questions that I compiled to get answered by Dr. Garcia. Once I get a response, I will post those as well. If you already had your surgery w/ Dr. Garcia, please let me know how your experience is! What size sleeve would you recommend for someone of my size? Is 32 the smallest? How do you determine the size? Based on my preop results, can you predict any possible complications from this surgery? My spanish is very poor, if I suffer extreme pain, what is the prrotocol to let a nurse know that a doctor needs to be called? What if he doesn't speak English? What is the procedure should I have any complications during surgery and I need to be transported to ER? Do you have arrangements with the hosipitals in San Diego should I need to transported to a US facility? How many gastric sleeves have you performed? Is your infection rate comparable to other Bariatric surgeons in Tijuana? I ask because there are some forums that have some pretty scary stories out there. What steps should I take should I have any complications once I return to the US? Should I have my family doctor take out my stiches or can I take them out myself? What kinds of pain medications are prescribed? Will I see you for a follow up before i fly back home? When should I be able to return to work? Swim? Start a vigorous exercise regimen? What are my chances of death with this operation?

    CHEAP FLIGHTS

I found my flight to San Diego through www.hotwire.com and that's where I usually go for the majority of my flights. They sell "clearance" tickets so if you have a large window in which you can depart, then you can find a great deal. My second best site is Travelocity.com. The time a day you look for tickets may be a factor in the published price, so try looking in the mornings as opposed to the evening time. When's your surgery date? I'll be flying in on August 10.
  13. Actually I'm kind of curious about pre-natals. Has anyone been taking those for your Vitamin intake? I'm just curious if anyone had a good recommendation of what types of vitiamins I should start taking now. My surgery is a month away in Mexico, but I want to give my body a head start.
  14. 3 - 6 months to start enjoying alcohol again? My surgery is August 11 so, I'll be just in time for Mardi Gras!

    Goodbye LB

My surgery is coming up in August, but i've still resolved that I will still be able to buy clothes from Lane Bryant. Afterall, the smallest size they have is 12 and I just can't see myself fitting into less than that! Plus I have a LB credit card lol
  16. Hey all. My surgery date is coming up in August, so in contemplating how I am going to get th rough the first few weeks of post-op, I got an idea. What about baby foods? They're mushy, full of Vitamins and variety (fruits, veggies, even chicken!). Plus, they come in little tiny jars. Has anyone tried this as an option over puree-ing everything? Is it working for you? Also, I was thinking about how I would keep up with my Protein and saw an ad for those Pediasure Sidekicks. They have 7 grams of protein in each serving. I figured, this would be a great althernative if I need a break from Protein shakes. Curious about your thoughts.... Thanks!
  17. Going to Tiajuana in August for my surgery. Has any one used Dr. Garcia? Any thoughts on your experience you'd like to share? Thanks!@
  18. This thread is great. My surgery date is August 11, 2011 and I was planning to be back to work by Tuesday the 16th. I may have to re-think that!
