FDATrialGuineaPig got a reaction from lynette85 in Hey Everyone....
Thanks donali .
I'm glad that my journal was helpful to you...it's been quite a ride!!!
My arms and thighs aren't too bad. They absorbed pretty well. They certainly aren't wonderful but I don't think I'll need plastic surgery on them to be happy. My belly was just an atrocity that needed to be dealt with!
Good luck to you with your own journey .

I'm here..banded 8/24/00. Doing great! Have lost 145 lbs pretty much at goal but wouldn't mind losing another 10 or so.
Nice to see you all...

I enjoy eating MORE than I did pre-band. I've learned to actually slow down and appreciate it. I'm very particular now.
As for deprived it's VERY rare I've felt deprived. Usually it was because I was self-defeating feeling in the moment and wanting to do something self destructive but couldn't. Definitely not an overall sense of deprivation, more of a "wow, this must be how normal people eat and feel about food".
You'll do great!

FDATrialGuineaPig got a reaction from Band2Sleever in Lap-Band Failure Rates
I used to think my biggest fear in the world was having to have my band removed.
Then I was unfilled for close to 2 years due to reflux and realized that it didn't HAVE to be the end of the world.
I'm over 7 years out and still keep in touch with long term bandsters who are doing just fine--they're just busy and long past the need or desire to post much online.
I believe that statistic though.
At least with banding though you're either back to square one with your stomach or you have the option to upgrade to a more absorptive surgery.
Nothing in life is for sure, eh? At least we're trying .
