    DR KELLY & TRISH -AWESOME!

I will be so glad when these coordinators and coordinator defenders fade into the woodwork here. This site should be about personal experiences and help for others, not sell jobs.
  3. WHAT DO YOU THINK?...what do you think?..
  4. Did you ask for the brand name of the staples that he used? Do they have serial numbers? Did you get a real, written, individual doctor's description of your operation or a form that is pretty much the same for everyone? The horror stories about that clinic, and they're many, come because of the infections and complications resulting from surgery there. Ninety-six out of a hundred of your friends probably have a great and inexpensive surgery there, but that would still be eight times the complication rate of any reputable facility. For just half the price any poker player would say that that is a bad bet.

    Dr aceves mushies question

I would think so if you are tolerating everything that you should be. I was eating fish (stay away from salmon, though, too dense) after about ten days.
  6. Dr. Amanza works out of a 'clinic' (not a hospital) in a strip mall in Tijuana, Mexico. He is the cheapest around because he uses 2nd rate staples, medical practices, medical assistants and recovery facilities. If you absolutely need to go there... then you have to go, but realize the risks there are far greater there than with a more reputable doctor at a real hospital. If you want a recent example check out: http://www.google.co...Gr8n-1A&cad=rja

    how do i move on?

Lol, you're cute. You are second guessing your own best judgement. Allow me to say; STOP IT! That said, I must confess that I cheated somewhat and got my doctor to give me some weak Lorazepam (1-2mg) before my trip for flying and sleeping. Really a life saver; used them in the hospital with some pain medication and slept like a baby. I don't have to use them much any more, but they really helped at first. I still use one if I am getting anxious at night.

    can i have this????

Yes, go for it. Just take a few little spoonfuls to see how your new tummy likes it. If you don't get a clogged reaction, then you've just added a new food.

    VSG & reflux

You don't have calcium absorption problems if you take the 'citrate' form of calcium with your PPI's. Your doctor should know this.
  10. Dear sasicas, I have dipped into your story and older posts and videos. I want to tell you that your story has moved me very much. The suffering that you have had, and continue to experience makes me sad and a little angry that you have been so little served by both the medical community and even the more experienced members of this board. If I can help in any way please just ask. Your uncomplaining, persevering nature is, to me, heroic. I truly hope that these difficulties resolve quickly and completely. You and your children are in my prayers and thoughts.

    VSG & reflux

Fiera121, I had the VSG a month ago. I was on one Omaprezole per day before the surgery and I am on one after surgery. But if I forget to take it, watch out! Especially bad if I am sleeping. Sometimes I take another, because my stomach is starting to get feisty. I also was taking two 200mg Celebrex per day. Since the surgery I have not had to take the Celebrex, but I am not sure why. I just don't seem to have the same level of pain. Whether this is temporary or permanent I can't say. Good luck on your choice and your surgery. These are the most trying days of the process.
  12. Sorry, if I offended, Newday. I'm sure that Dr. Aceves is Catholic, but I didn't ask him.
  13. Yeah, and Jesus wasn't wearing gloves or a hair net either. I guess all that bacteria got to go straight to heaven.

    I'm getting worried...

I believe that a person's WLS and subsequent weight loss (hopefully) is a solitary journey. We are around other people, but that is deceptive. Only WE know what it means. It sounds like you and your wife are both on this solitary journey. I would just respect that, support each other if possible, and plan to reconnect on the other side.

    Sleeve and Bipolar Meds

That is sad and scary. I am on anti-depressives too, and I wonder how the absorption rate has changed. I doubt very much that there is ANY research on this. Unbelievably sad that he was on track with his weight loss, but his doctors seemingly didn't realize the danger of the process on his psyche.

Should I put off dating for a year?

You are already on a journey, why would you want to start on another one?
  17. My PCP thought that if I was going to get surgery then the band was cutting edge, and he had a patient that was having no problems. I think that even really good doctors - such as mine is, can't keep up with every aspect that is being developed for countering health problems. I will be his learning source on the sleeve, and I don't mind.
  18. I have only been sleeved for a month - almost, but already I've gotten prettier and prettier and younger and younger. What are you waiting for, Dearie...Dearie?

    Ok admit it...

I was thinking about making a move on one of the cleaning ladies, but I wasn't sure that I was supposed to be running so soon after surgery...

The truth is that fat is simply not attractive even if you are Brad Pitt or Sophia Loren.

    getting off of the PPIs

I was told by a knowledgeable person (nurse, 2 time WLS) that taking a PPI right at bedtime is not good; I forget the reason why. She said to take it at a least a couple of hours BEFORE bedtime.

    getting off of the PPIs

I can't eat enough volume in food to get enough calcium through food sources alone, so I do take the calcium citrate in the middle of the morning, but it's negated when I take my Prilosec. I'm hopeful this will work out... My understanding is that calcium citrate absorption isn't affected by PPI's like the other forms of calcium supplements. Have you heard differently?
