  1. Your making changes though by going to see the eating behavioralist. That's the first step in making changes. If it's something you shouldn't be eating cake, cookies, or candy get it out of your house. This will and can still work for you. You fell off the wagon stand up dust yourself off and move on. Don't beat yourself up. Also every day is a new day! Best of luck to you!
  2. Hello all! I was banded Febuary 16, 2011. My starting weight was 231.8 and I am now at 130. I love having the band it has giving me my life back. I'm happy, and actually enjoy being around people. Where before I was happy just staying at home all the tome and didn't want to meet new people. Its going to help now that we are getting ready to PCS to Hawaii in April. I have been in the green zone since surgery I didn't have to get a fill. I have appointment on October 18 with my doctor to see about maintenance. I enjoy walking, riding my bike, and just feeling young again! I feel great!
  3. Hi and welcome! Congrats on your upcoming surgery on Tuesday. I didn't share with family that I was having surgery. My husband of course new I was, but I have four small children (6,7,10,&12). I didn't see they needed to know at this point or would completely understand what was going on. I did tell a few friends not many though. It's a personal decision and I didn't want all the talking behind my back. I have found my biggest support comes from my husband and the support group that the hospital has twice a month. There isn't very many lap band patients that go, but I learn things from the other people. We are all going through the something no matter what surgery we had.
  4. I live in Texas as well. I'm in the Killeen area. I was banded Feb 16,2011. Good luck on Wednesday! You'll be so happy that you had this done. Good luck on your journey. Something that helped me was I took before pictures and at each month marker I take new ones. So I can see the difference from where I started.
  5. Thank you! I have made appointment with my dr for October 18th to see what I do now. I'm nerevous if to see what he has to say since I didn't have to have a fill and I'm at a normal bmi. If you want I'll let you know what he has to say on the 18th. I'm a having the same questions you are having now. Your doing awesome by the way!

  14. Happy bandiversary! Your doing an awesome job!
  15. The hospital I had my survey at has support group twice month. I go at least once a month. I feel that it has helped with my success. Even though I'm one of a couple that have had the lap band. Most of the people have went with the sleeve or bypas. I can still learn from them and get support that I need. I don't see that it matters what we choose we are all trying to support each other and are going through the samething. I'm actually getting ready to go to a support meeting in the next hour. It also holds me accountable by going to support group. Good luck with your journey!
  16. Hello! I'm checking in at 133.8 for the week.
  17. Hello Traci, I live in the Killeen area. My psych eval was about 30 to 45 minutes of talking to the psych. Then I was placed on a computer to answer questions that had nothing to do with weight loss surgery.

  20. I had my surgery on Febuary 16,2011. I choose not to tell anyone about my surgery other then my husband of course. He's been my rock and hugh supporter. I do not work well I'm a stay at home mom of four boys. I didn't tell any other family members. Just for the fact that I didn't want to hear them complain about what I had chose to do. Durning the post op liquid part. I was not hungry didn't have any pain at all. I had a couple of surgeries before my lap band. I had 3 c-sections and had my gallbladder removed. My doctor put 3 cc in my bnd the day of surgery. So far thats all in my band. I finally told my mom that I had the surgery in August. She wanted me to come visit her and was talking about eating out all the time. She has turned into a big support in this process as well. She has been heavy all my life. I have lost 96 pounds so far. I'm 5 pounds away from my goal weight. I have found that going to the support groups that my hospital offers twice a month very helpful. I go to one of them though. They are all in the same position you are or have been. I have also found this group and the chat part of it very helpful. It's normal to be scared. I wanted to live and be happy with my life so I decided to have the surgery. It's been the best decision that I have made in a long time. I finally decided to put myself first. You will find the support you need. Let your new life beginning. You will be so happy that you did. Good luck!!!!!
