WOW! AWESOME JOB!! U LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I'm just days shy of my 7 month surgeriversary!!!!! Yay!!!! Ok, so i'm 7 months out and I feel great. My clothes are L/M in Tops and Meduim/ 9 in bottoms (can squeeze into some7/8) and a size 36 waist that's crazy ... even my feet have lost weight from 9 to 7 1/2...
I'm feeling better than ever !!! I've lost 81 pounds and I'm LOVING IT!!!
the 1st pic is hard for me to see hard because i Know how unhappy i was at that weight. I'm so happy that i decided to do something about it ... LOVING my sleeve!!!

Today is my 5 month surgeriversary!!!!! Yay!!!! Ok, so i'm 5 months out and yes i've had some bumps in the road (Thank You to everyone who was there for me during those very tough moments - Diva's Boot Camp Basic really help me get back on track) I'm feeling better than ever now and really looking forward to my 6 months surgeriversary when I'll be updating you again... I've lost 74.4 pounds and here are my pics ... ( in just 5 months still can't believe it) from 247 to 172/ from 3x/2x to L/M from 18 to 9 and LOVING IT!!!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you sis!!!! I can't wait to be there with you! 9 days and I will be on the loser's bench with you! I hope I do as good as you have done!

You know what to do--journal your food, eat Protein first, don't drink your calories, get regular exercise, take your Vitamins and supplements, drink your Water, cut out crap food, don't ignore the scale or how your clothes fit. Get back on track!

From what I know and have read this can be largly beacause you are not getting enough protien. You wouldnt believe the difference it can make, and I say this personally.. Ihave not had this surgery as of yet, but I have battled with protien issues and I am finally regulated and grew back all the hair I lost. Protien is sooo important is my point..
obviously age and genetics can also have play.. I actually went to a hair expert and she said that i had alopecia and had to get used to it and to look for a wig or start on a rogaine. I did an expirement with protien and kept it up as I saw my hair growing in. I had always had a pretty obvious widows peak that had been missing for about 3 years and its almost completely back.
The average adult should be getting anywhere from 60-80 grams a protien a day. Maybe with not being hungary you are not getting enough protien.. Just a thought..but if that is the issue you have to stick with it or it wont happen..

I agree that to lose weight you need to create a deficit, and 3500 less is a pound. Taking into account that I am no doctor, this is just a suggestion, I would calculate her BMR, that is going to tell you how much calories her body needs a day, as you grow older you need less calories. Track what she eats in a food diary like myfitnesspal.com and if she is consuming less calories than her BMR then hypothetically she should lose weight. If she does exercise compare her net calories (food calories-exercise calories) to her BMR.
Example:
Food calories= 800
Exercise calories= 350
BMR= 1400
Net Calories= (800-350)=450
To make it simple, lets say this is what her calories intake looks like every day Monday- Friday (7 days)
All week calories is then 450*7= 3150
What the body needed those 7 days was 1400*7= 9800
All week deficit = 9800-3150 = 6650 calories
6650/3500= 1.9 lbs lost in 7 days
Like I said before, I am not a doctor, I am actually testing my theory this week. This is an estimate, and should give you an idea of how much she should lose in a week. Myfitnesspal.com tracks food calories, exercise calories and has a BMR calculator.

it's not the whole country, it's the doctor to blame. there are great talented doctors in every country, and perhaps they stay in their home country because it's their home! some of these statements are a bit xenophobic and offensive towards mexico.

You will not find any unhappy patients of Dr. Aceves in Mexico. Everyone agrees that the care they received in the hospital there was better than the care they have had in hospitals in the US.
I am sorry you had a bad experience with this doctor in Mexico. That does not mean that there are not excellent surgeons practicing out of excellent hospitals in Mexico.

There are EXCELLENT doctors in Mexico. I hate when people have this uninformed opinion about another country.

Our Dietitian (Kaiser Nor Cal) says that the noises are caused by air moving around in the tummy. Nothing to be concerned about. It just seems louder now because the tummy is smaller and there is less "stuff' to muffle the noises.

i decided not to share with everyone ... just my ex-husband and best friend ... no one else knows ... my decision - i hate being judged by others who have no idea what it was like for me trying on my own to lose all this weight i have tried everything and yes i would lose some weight but always gained it back plus... i don't mind working out, but i love my sleeve THANK GOD FOR RESTRICTION AND EXERCISE OR I WOULD STILL BE 247LBS. So you're not alone yes we are made to feel ashamed, because of people who judge so harshly... but i would do it again in a heart beat and not tell a soul... it's a personal choice- to tell or not to tell- your decision : )

I told nobody except my husband, not even my own mother knows and she is my bff.!!
I think people can be so negative and just down right mean about the subject. Just the other day, I was talking to my unlce's gf and she was telling me about a friend of her's that had lap band and how she "would never" do something like that!!! why not just diet and exercise and do it "THE RIGHT WAY"!! I was so offended. What is the right way is what I wanted to say, but I didn't. My husband sat there snickering and we laughed later. It isn't like I sit on the couch on my A$$ and eat bon-bons all day long and lose 5lbs at the end of the week. It DOES NOT work that way!!!
But, that is how ignorant people are. They really are un-educated and have not a clue that you still have to exercise and eat right. I have worked harder to lose every lb since my surgery than I ever have in my entire life and THAT MY FRIENDS is THE HONEST TRUTH!! There is not a magic trick or pill. Nothing about this is easy!!!.
I may tell my mom in a couple weeks when I see her-she lives in another state, but for now, only my husband knows. I tell people I eat low carb and high Protein and that I exercise. That is the truth, I just omit the part about the VSG.
