  1. No boards here. I am exit 1 off the NJTP and 295! Hope you had fun at the boardwalk though!
  2. Thanks...I am actually surprised myself beings I have no fluid in my band at all. I think it is just the change in my eating that has gotten me this far without fluid. My next appt isnt for another 3 weeks, so maybe I will get fluid then if I stop losing! Congrats on your weightloss!!! That's awesome!
  3. I was also told 4 weeks so that I would not get an infection!
  4. I feel I am doing well. 30 pounds in 40 days, so I can't complain! I am way south Jersey, like exit 1! =) How about you? Your ticker shows that you have been doing well with losing the weight! Congrats! =)
  5. I am doing well so far. I went to the surgeon on Wednesday and it was supposed to be for a fill, but he thinks I am doing well, so no fill for me yet! I will be glad when I get back to work so I can put myself on a schedule. I just started some resistance training today, so hopefully I can keep up with that. How are you doing with it? -Natalie
  6. I am also from South Jersey and was banded on June 20th!

    Eating boredom!

Your doctor moves fast. I will be 6 weeks post-op on Monday and that is when I will be able to eat soft foods (technically...I have been sneaking them in here and there). I do not have a fill in my band, but I am not hungry at all which is why they did not put one in when I went Wednesday. I find that as long as I drink a protein shake in the morning, I generally do not get hungry through out the day. I do eat small meals every 4 hours though to avoid getting extra hungry. Try drinking a protein shake as soon as you get up in the morning. That is what works for me!
  8. I just called my surgeon about this yesterday and was told as long as they are done in moderation and it dont bother me to go ahead!

    My First Fill!

I was scheduled for my first fill today, but PA thought I didnt need it yet! Go back in 4 weeks...maybe then?

    Bruises

My doctor also has me take the Flintstone Complete with Choline, but I only take 2 a day!
  11. Wow.,.he is really rude. I saw my doctor for my 2 week post-op and had lost 17 pounds. He was happy about that and then told me that if I even lost another pound by next appt 3 weeks later that he would be proud of me because this is my time to heal. I have lost another 10, so we shall see what he has to say on Wed. You really need to tell him that his tone and attitude with you is unacceptable or find another doctor. This is when you need the most encouragement! Congrats on the good work!

Still losing very quickly - no fill?

Your post is a total blessing to me. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I do get 'head hungry' about 2.5 hours later, but that's my own psychological problem (I used to be a bigtime grazer) rather than actually being hungry. It does take about 4 hours to get stomach growling hungry. I am so sorry to hear about your ankle! I'd be miserable... I really hope you feel better soon! My ankle is actually well now! I was able to walk today! Thanks...I wish I was only getting head hungry, but my stomach is really growling and I try fighting it for like 30 mins (so that I dont drink), but by then I am really hungry, but I am able to deal with it! I guess I will see what my doctor says next Wednesday when I go! Congrats on all your hard work!

    recently banded

I was like that at first well. I was banded 4 weeks ago today! I wish I could have soft foods. My doctor still has me on mushies for another week! It took me awhile, but I am now actually starting to like the protein shakes for breakfast...it makes things really easy in the morning before work! Keep trying... it will get better
  15. I bought a bracelet from Lauren's Hope and no one knows that it is a medical ID bracelet which is great! What I also like about it is that you can change out the actual bracelet beings they are clasped onto the id, so I can buy various bracelets to wear depending on the occasion, but only had to purchase one medical id thingy! I have actual received compliments on the bracelet without any knowing it is a medical ID one beings my ID usually falls to the underside of my wrist! Also, when I ordered it, I had it 3 days later! It was nice and comes with a little velvet bag to keep it in!

Still losing very quickly - no fill?

I was also thinking like you! I have lost 25 pounds in less than 4 weeks and my first fill appointment is next week. I am also watching my calories and protein intake. Only difference is I am not really exercising! I was walking everyday for about a week and then I rolled my ankle last Friday (I needed new sneakers which I got), but the swelling and tightness in my ankle is still there. I am thinking I am going to try and go walking again tomorrow though. I am hungry in between meals now. I can get to about 3 hours and then I really need to eat. It is only something little that will hold me for another 3 hours. I am unsure if he will fill my band or not, but I have nothing in my band now! I really would like him to put something in the band, but will also go with what he says!

    scrambled eggs

Eggs are the only thing I have a problem with right now and I love them! I went to visit my parents yesterday and they made sure they had something I could eat for lunch. It was egg salad. I ate it just to make them happy because this was the first time they went out of their way to help me with this. It did not work. Oh well....lots of other ways to get protein!

    Weighing Yourself

Hello...I wa banded on June 20th and I find myself weighing myself everyday. I only "count" the weight on Saturday though towards if I am losing or gaining weight because I know there are various reasons for 0.5 - 1 lbs. I hope that helps!

    Any june 2011 Banders???

Hey Kristi! Thanks for the welcome! I am also enjoying actual food even if it has to be pureed. I have not had scrambled eggs, but I did eat egg salad and chicken salad and it was quite delcious. I just started this stage yesterday and I am also enjoying mashed potatoes. I was not really on a pre-op diet, but for 2 days before. I did lose 7 pounds then and 14 since surgery. I also do not have any fluid in my band, but I really have not been hungry. I have been walking around 30 mins a day. I go for my first post-op appt tomorrow, so I will see what the doctor thinks! It is nice to have someone to talk to who was banded on the same day. My surgery went really well. I did not have any pain really after except in my throat from the incubation. That is the only reason I took the pain medicine once. I didnt really need it. How was yours? -Natalie
  23. Congrats. I was banded 2 weeks ago and feel totally awesome! You are going to love it. Good luck to you and your wife!
