  1. Best of luck, lady. I haven't been feeling quite 100% myself for the past few days, so perhaps there's just a bug going around.... and not a leak!

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

I started with just over 200 to lose, and I'm so glad to see some successes in this thread. So many sleevers seem to have far less to lose, it's reassuring to know that I'm not alone!

    Water...tmi

When I was in my all-water-all-the-time phase, I would pee about once per Nalgene bottle, or after every liter (32oz). I took this as my body getting used to my water ingestion and using it how it was meant to be used and my bladder working efficiently.
  4. Looked at pre-op photos and post-op photos today... and saw a difference! This might actually happen. :D

  5. I feel super crappy... I've had a MASSIVE headache all day. Suspect I'm coming down with something. Damn it.

  6. Nothing like a screaming match with mom to get the week started right. @#*&$^.....

    Anyone Have Dyspepsia? Frequent Heartburn?

My reflux has gotten noticeably worse since being sleeved. I'm taking 150mg Zantac every morning and usually another dose in the evening. I'm hoping that it settles down once my stomach figures out that it's not there anymore.
  8. Got it! A day early! Down a total of 32 so far. :)

    Swallowing Pills Whole

I was cleared to swallow capsules and gelcaps at my one week post op. I was told to split tablets in half.
  10. I had Lovenox both pre and post op in my lower abdomen... I got huge bruises at both sites and now (almost two weeks out) my entire lower abdominal area feels both sore and numb (it's odd).
  11. Really pushing for a 30 pound loss (2 weeks pre-op liquid + 2 weeks post). Come on Monday, don't fail me.

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Tif, I never had to sip, right from the start. The nurse gave me a 1oz medicine cup for water once I was in my room and said I had an hour to drink it. I drank half of it. And then the other half five minutes later. No repercussions.
  13. A South Beach diet blogger just finished up a month of "phase 1" friendly recipes, many of which would be perfect for us sleevers. High Fiber, high Protein, low fat... it's a dream! http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2012/02/south-beach-diet-phase-one-recipes.html

    Unpopular Comment

The Captain was after me in a thread i posted, too. I don't know what you're referring to, Kathy, but really, just brush it off. This place is supportive 95% of the time... that's a pretty good ratio.
  15. Already worrying that I'm going to be a slow loser. Hmph. Boo, body. BOO.

  16. Yep! I just finished a pack of pills that's in the list of 'bad' lots and my cycle was all kinds of ****ed last month! I thought it was because of the pre-op liquid diet and then the surgery, but apparently not! Or at least, not all of it! And I have two more packs from the same lot. Yeesh. Thankfully, mine aren't really for birth control, per se, just regularity.
  17. Congrats! I noticed an immediate change when I moved onto something a little more substantial, too, as far as restriction goes. It's great to finally know it's there, right?

    Great Recipe Site!

    That site is awesome. Thanks!
  19. I'm six days out from my surgery and have been making an effort to get out and about in the world. I'm lucky that I have a pair of elastic waisted sweat-pants style pants that I used for work trousers, and I've been wearing them when I have to go out in public. I was wondering how long after surgery it was before you tried jeans? I have an incision on my right side just above my belly button which falls in the roll my pants usually sit in, and I'm concerned about rubbing it. Not necessarily that it will hurt, just that I'll irritate it or slow the healing process.

    Jeans?

Thanks, everyone! I guess I'll just have to try a pair on and see how they lay.... trying them on at home at least won't be problematic!
  21. I was cleared for shakes the day I left the hospital (they made sure I could tolerate the Protein drinks). After I woke up from anesthesia, I was given a one ounce medicine cup of Water and an hour in which to drink it. It took minutes, with no pain. I feel like my sleeve has been very forgiving thus far. I suspect that may catch up with me, although it's not like I've been sitting here chugging half gallons of fluids at a time. I'm looking forward to feeling like I couldn't possibly stomach more than 2 tablespoons of something. Anything. It's what I was expecting, after all!
  22. The soup I was eating wasn't pureed... it's a very thin/watery soup from a carton that just tastes like a lot more than broth does. I did definitely feel full (uncomfortably so) for a while after I finished that. I certainly haven't done it again. I think that maybe I'm starting to get more feeling back in my stomach in general, because I've noticed feeling uncomfortable more easily from shakes or Soups.
  23. I'm definitely not "hungry" in the way I would have been pre-op. I'm planning and putting things in my mouth because I know I'm supposed to (and am able to, much to my surprise). I think I could very easily go all day on nothing but a few sips of Water if I were so inclined! I just had an 11oz Atkins shake for dinner over... 15 minutes? Maybe? The liquids are just pouring through.
  24. Four days out from surgery, and I'm feeling pretty good. I think I'll be able to go off the pain meds very soon. Yay!
