  1. I am a patient of Dr Cywes. My procedure was done at Jacksonville Surgery Center. They are a very busy office and have the process down to a science. He's a decent guy but he talks fast so you gotta pay attention. He talks about how we are addicted to carbohydrates and focuses a lot on that. He's a good guy and I recommend his practice.
  2. Wow. My surgeon will not allow me to eat carbohydrates like Pasta. I am supposed to have less than 30 grams a day. It sucks. Carbs are in everything.
  3. I feel the same way! I had surgery on 7/07 and only lost 3 pounds in a week. My surgeon was not happy with me. I really didn't eat too much. I am wondering if my metabolism is shot.
  4. It's called a port, and it sounds like you might have an infection. You should see a doctor about it as soon as you can.
  5. I am 7 days post-op and am having terrible gas pains. I didn't even realize they were gas after days of complaining. It moves all over me, from my neck, to my shoulders, my side and yes even my boobs ache. I had the band, plus a plication and hiatal hernia repair on 7/07 and I'm still suffering from gas pain. I've taken lots of gas relief stuff and it doesn't seem to help. I've walked around and been to the store. Still have gas. I notice it a lot more after eating too. Will I have to deal with this for the rest of my life?
  6. If you use gas x strips it says a dose is up to 2-4 of them. Not just one. I hated learning that after days of dealing with gas pain.
  7. Probably didnt want to lose you as a customer.
  8. How much does that procedure cost? Does insurance cover it?
  9. I am having a banded plication on July 7th! If you've had this procedure, please let me know what to expect. Thanks!
  10. Go for it! Insurance is a pain in the a**!
  11. I heard that you are given a catheter during the procedure. Is this not true? I sure do hate the idea of someone messing with my "junk" while I'm out of it. All around, just sounds terrible. I try to shave, but my mammoth belly is in the way, so I'm kinda like a yard that someone couldn't finish mowing.
  12. Wow, ONE jelly bean? You have incredible willpower!
  13. I also feel like crap. My pre-op appointment is Wednesday and that is when I'll officially start dieting. But before that I was instructed to stop eating carbs now. So I've been drinking Protein shakes and eating cheese, soy products and so on. I got a hemorrhoid flare-up which hurts and hurts more when I have to go to the bathroom. It feels like hot lava coming out of me. I know gross, but true. I am also fighting a cold and am now freaking out that I'll be sick when my surgery date comes. I have fears of having a fever on surgery day and they delay it! This cannot happen. So, you are not alone.
  14. Wow, you are lucky you didn't have to diet prior to surgery!
  15. Is anyone else out there suffering from a hemorrhoid flare-up? I know it's gross but I haven't had one in a long time and since I've eliminated carbs I noticed it. Please let me know if you have any tips on how I can get them to go away. I'm trying to drink as much water as possible.
  16. Hello everyone, I am new to this board. My surgery is also on July 7th! It's coming up fast. Before it felt like an eternity away.
