  1. you know, ive been reading from a few ppl that your bmi has to be 50 but she never mentioned my bmi and where it has to be and if they start by your first consultation or what. thats a good question to ask. my bmi is 46.6 (i thought it was 49.2 because i was always told that im 5'1 but they are saying 5'3). :/ a good question is, if they start with the bmi in your initial consultation, then gaining the weight wouldnt even do me justice since i started at 46.6. i need to definitely find this out. i have health issues so i pray thats not the case. id hate to have to purposely gain weight.. :/
  2. its really confusing. :/ my primary dr told me not to lose weight but then why would the nutritionist put me on a diet? lol. im scared to really come straight out & ask my nutritionist if i should "try" to lose weight because of course, shes going to say yes! but will it help me get approved is what i want to know. she seemed SUPER nice until i went into her office for my appointment. she had an attitude & was doing a whole lot of eye rolling. it took everything in me not to ask her "what the hell is your problem?!" she was more "talking at me" rather than "with me". i wish there was a 2nd nut. in that office i could go to. so i think i want little conversation with her as possible. also, my issue isnt losing weight. i drop weight quickly which is what im afraid of. the only thing is, i put the weight on twice as fast & i end up putting even more weight on. so now im confused... should i lose weight for 6 months? or drop here & there? my bmi is 46.6 (since they claim im 5'3 & not 5'1). i thought my bmi was 49.2 before.
  3. thats GREAT! congrats to you and good luck on monday! keep us all posted!
  4. well i eat the samething every single day lol. very weird, i know. im the routine kinda person
  5. well im glad i know this because i thought i wouldnt be approved if i didnt lose any weight. lol. ive always been told that im 5'1 & now theyre saying 5'3 so my bmi is 46.6. i def dont want to go below 40.
  6. ohh ok! thank you for responding!
  7. makes much sense! my nutritionist wanted me to cut out soda & i think after cutting soda & juices out & adding Water & exercises but not cutting food, i think ill be down about 5lbs a month. at the end of 6 months, thats 30lbs. do you feel thats reasonable? or is even that too much?
  8. i visited with my primary dr today & i was advised by him not to lose any weight because my insurance will not approve me if i do. now im confused.. lol. do i try & lose the weight or do i just keep eating as ive been eating but just take in smaller portions so that if i do lose weight, itll be very minimal?

    12 things...

    LOVE #12! get em girl
  10. i decided only to tell very few people. i think ppl are so judgemental & id hate for ppl to look at me funny. i feel like i could lose so much having vsg but i would be the "fat girl who had WLS" instead of being "healthy & smaller". i only told my ex who him & i just broke up after 9yrs. he used to be 500lbs & became a body builder and lost all the weight thru diet & exercise. my mom who is my support system & my bestfriend of 12years. oh & my employer who had the surgery & i looked into it as soon as i saw her weight loss! for those of you who have had vsg already, did you feel like telling more ppl after losing the weight? i started a vlog (video log) on youtube but made all the videos private. im going to keep them all private & im going to keep making more until maybe after dropping the weight. if im comfortable enough, i will put them out for the world to see.
  11. thats great! ive heard shorter times. im so anxious that i wish i was going in tomorrow lol
  12. thank you very much!!! i hear my insurance pays for plastic surgery to fix the hanging skin. i wouldnt mind a nice tummy tuck! lol. >_< i will definitely keep you and everyone updated! i appreciate the kind words. youre awesome.
  13. thank you for responding & thats great! i have been over weight my entire life so i plan on gathering history for the last 5yrs. ive been on weight loss meds thru doctors & will be getting my personal trainer to vouch for me. hopefully, all this will help! my bmi is 49.1 which is extremely high. im only 5'1 & 22 yrs old. :-/

    Not telling family about surgery?

AWESOME!!! only word that could come to mind. stay blessed<3
  20. nicely put. im not sure of your age but i know at my age (22), people tend to be a lot more cruel. i think the part that made me decide to keep it a secret from most ppl is the fact that i dont so much care for ppl saying, "wow, she lost a lot of weight. the WLS really helped her." but i can see people snickering and making fun that i had to go as far as WLS to lose weight & keeep it off. its unfortunate that people in my family are so cruel but i guess its something i cant change.
  21. thank you very much! i meet with a nurse practioner, nutritionist & go to a seminar all on july 5th. im very anxious & excited. i know this is the surgery for me & with Gods help, ill get approved thru my insurance. i know for a fact i qualify for it. its more of a matter if they cover vsg. im praying! i was completely agaist weight loss surgery until about 2-3 weeks ago when i went to babysit for my employer (im a nanny & cake designer) & i saw her. i knew she had been dieting (which turned out to be the pre-op diet) and she had went from a size 22 to a 14 in 6 weeks. after that, i was maybe 10-15% on board with the sleeve. after doing HOURS and spending days researching, i became 95% on board. now, im 1billion% on board & cant wait for my lucky day!
  22. very well put! ive had both my tonsils & gall bladder removed & im getting my wisdom teeth removed next week! haha. i guess im so used to being over weight and people OPENLY commenting on it. the one comment that SERIOUSLY gets under my skin is, "omg!!! i didnt know you were pregnant!! congrats." its a double slap in the face for me since im not & i have pcos (irregular periods, very difficult to get preggo) due to weight gain. it makes me so depressed & 10 times more embarrassed than any other comment. then they used to do it in front of my bodybuilder boyfriend who wanted kids! i felt embarrassed and like a complete FAILURE!!!!!
  23. i think id tell strangers to help but never distant family members. ive made that decision
  24. just today, i was anxious to open up to my aunt who is by far the most negative person in the world but as quick as i was about to tell her is as quick as i changed my mind. i may as well go on my local news channel & broadcast it myself.
