  1. back to work and feeling great!! :)

  2. I only put a pinch of cheese for the taste and it melts right in.
  3. Sounds just about right. Im on creamy foods, and today this is what I had. Breakfast- packet of cream of wheat Lunch- 1/3 cup of refried Beans whipped with a pinch of cheese and picante sauce. Dinner- I plan to have 1/3 cup black bean puree with some mashed avocado on the side No Snacks. I eat my little meals slowly and I do get full. I'm so glad to be off the liquids!
  4. Don't beat yourself up too much. I didn't have a pre op diet and I ate mcdonalds the day before surgery. I'm fine now that its out of my system, plus having the band makes things easier. I'm not so hungry plus I physically cannot eat much. Anyways, a little slip is not going to be a predictor of the future. Good luck tomorrow!

    Chew and Spit?

No way I could that! Once its in my mouth, I'm swallowing that sucker!
  6. Six days post op and I feel almost normal! Thank you God!

  7. my surgeon made me watch a video like that in his office prior to coming in to see me. It helped alot to see what was actually going to happen to me.
  8. who would've thought cream of wheat could taste so heavenly! Im so glad to be in the creamy stage. :)

  9. I can totally relate. How long is your liquid stage? I'm on creamy starting tomorrow and I can't wait to have some cream of wheat. Lol I can't have eggs until next Saturday. Popsicles and naps help alot!
  10. I'm in the same boat. I think the antibiotic is giving me diarrhea and nausea. Im spitting up foam too....feels nasty!
  11. I do have a dropper and try to squirt it fast but the taste is just pungent. I'll force to get it down, but seriously, the nausea from that is really the worst part.
  12. Hi everyone, I'm on day 4 post op and I'm gagging on my liquid antibiotic (omnicef). I swear it tastes like vomit. I can tolerate the pain meds because they taste like cough syrup. I just don't know how long I will last on this antibiotic (I'm supposed to do it for 10 days ). Worse thing is that I'm also allergic to phenergan, so I can't do much for the nausea. I seriously wish time would go by faster! Are there people out there that didn't need antibiotics afterward?
  13. Wow, that seems like a lot of liquid! I didn't have a pre op diet. Post op is 5 days of liquids, then 5 days of creamy followed by soft foods. Good luck to you!
  14. Congrats, that is awesome!
  15. I think im having a staring contest with my protein shake and the shake is winning!

  16. So how are you doing?? I feel better everyday but I hate the antibiotic and hate the pain of getting out of bed. Thankfully im not interested in food but I keep getting nightmares that im eating solid food. Lol

  17. One day post op and I'm really hating the upper back and left shoulder pain. Please time go by fast since I am a wimp to pain.

    OMW to change

Dang, that's great just having one incision!! Right now I have 6 band aids, which I'm assuming is 6 incisions. Hope your recovery goes smooth.
  19. Lmao Melissa! I guess I don't feel that bad now.

I hope it all went well !!!
  21. Its not even the fear of the surgery its self; I am not really scared of that. My husband has been acting like I'm going to the electric chair or something! It kind of creeps me out how much attention he is paying to me right now. Its not like I'm having brain surgery or anything. He's supposed to be easing my fears and now I'm the one having to reassure him that everything will be okay! lol I'm just ready to get this over with and start my journey full force. I hope the next 2 days just fly!
  22. I thought I'd make myself a list of all the things I won't miss after I get this band and get myself looking good. 1. Having to stretch my shirts out once I put them on to make them more comfortable. 2. Not getting on a plane for fear that I will need an extender or worse yet have an airline employee tell me I need to buy 2 seats. 3. Buying something off the rack and assume it fits, then getting home and finding out its too tight! 4. Feeling self conscious of people looking at my grocery cart when shopping. 5. Having men look the other way, or not looking at me in the eye for fear that they will somehow unknowingly attract the fat girl. Sorry dudes, I'm married, you can look me in the eye now!
  23. I just had my surgery this morning. In recovery I was about a level 5 and they gave me extra morphine for the ride home. That brought the pain down to a 2. Once home I slept off the morphine and woke up in about a 7 pain level, mostly to my left shoulder and upper back. I took the liquid lortab, slept again, and now 3 hrs after my pain level is about a 5, but I have to wait 3 more hours before I can re dose. Pain to the shoulder is getting slightly better but now my tummy feels like its been run over. I also had a hernia repair, so I don't know how much of a difference that makes with pain levels. Oh, and I usually have a medium threshold with pain.
  24. Ok, I got a little bit more than four hours of sleep and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm already at the surgery center and waiting for the nurse to start on me. Surprisingly I am calm. The receptionist told me that they have had 16 year olds get banded! Seems crazy to me.
  25. Thanks guys, I appreciate the support! I just wish I wasn't so wound up and could get some sleep!!
