  10. @Healthy_life2 LOL, that would drive me crazy too! unfortunately I will never have that problem with my DH. I married him 28 years ago when he (me too) were heavy. He doesn't want to change (love him anyway)!!! It should be illegal for ANYONE to be able to eat and eat and..... with no repercussions!!🤣 Your maintaining, look great, but as with most of us - it will always be a struggle. "all of a sudden" i've been dealing with portion control!! Concerning your friends gaining back weight after WLS, that's sad in itself - I understand why they might feel self-conscious to be around you. I can relate to those feelings, but unfortunately all of you have lost your circle of friends. Touchy subject kathy
  11. @Orchids&Dragons hi bud your DH not giving up beer and pizza?!! lol people have been shot for less. weighing less than hubby, great feeling. feeling "feminine", lots of your weight is gone, you feel better about your body. great feeling!! hold on to that!! keep up the great job☺️ kathy

@PALOMA yep, i guess i'm doing ok. 7+ sleeve PO - 105 lbs down w/fluctuations like i mentioned i never had a liquid diet, did a food funeral instead, and gained 5 lbs!!! You could eat/drink better now in preparation for your sleeve. You might end up losing a few lbs. too Do as i say, not as i do.!!! good luck in April speedy recovery☺️ kathy

    Surgery Story

@brittcarter91 OMG you went through quite an ordeal. i think its ok/good? for newbies et al to hear stories like yours. They should be aware of bad possibilities that could/but seldomly happen. Many OP do tell their situations that are bad, telling things, asking suggestions/experiences. It might help them venting a bit. Looking for help. The good thing about your story is that you are showing that there is that "light at the end of the tunnel" things do usually work out at the end. only thing that you will end up losing is WEIGHT. good thoughts and wishes for your continued good recovery☺️ kathy

    Eating & Drinking

@EspeciallyKK don't feel alone - i think this is one of the most common problems many of us deal/dealt with we all have to accept and learn to handle the situation. Don't have to like it/ but its one of the BIG rules that must be followed. Very important!! good luck kathy
  17. @FluffyChix so nicely put, congrats!! working together during this process is great, watching out for each other. but warning, no "food police" allowed in/out of house. DH following in your footsteps, wanting to win by losing, can't get much better than that. getting rid of some meds is always a great motivator. holding a glass of water up to your DH - and you too!! Fluffy, you must be a great inspiration to him, and here too on the board. keep up the good work for both of you.😊 kathy

    Frustrated

@PALOMABELLA my doctor didn't require a pre-op diet either. i wish he did - that would have helped "push" me/force me to eat better before WLS i know i should have had protein shake, or any other better foods. But since doc didn't tell me i, choice not to!! I had a few funerals instead and gained 5 lbs!! kathy

@hpete15 hmmmm, you l know they say about curiosity!!! 😉 my DH continues to be supportive from day one. Butttt after alllll these years, he doesn't want to change his eating ways. BTW - unfortunately he is obese. we used to go out to eat allll the time. Now i don't want to because i don't enjoy it that much. Rumor has it that Taco Bell is now going out of business. LOL - Tom will not eat what i do, but oh well - he is still loving and very proud and happy that he sees 105 lbs less of me!!😉 good luck on your consult and your pending date. kathy

    New post-op er

@ElisaPDX WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME March 4th, you are still a virgin!! sounds like you are on top of the world. Glad you found this site. It is very helpful. Ask your many questions, read what OP ask and say. Hear their answers and experience. You'll find some subjects are similar to your own. also use the SEARCH button. while you are in the early stage of the game/and you are only on liquids, you will feel no restriction - and you might feel empty/hungry. Once you start eating soft/ solid foods you will feel that restriction, and hopefully not feel hunger. But that lack of hunger lasts different time periods for all. At the end of the day, only listen to your NUT/doc - they are the experts. good luck😊 kathy

    50+

@CaribeRidge Everything sounds terrific, things will only get better. the NSV's you mentioned will continue and become more frequent. your DH sounds like a keeper! buying a similar bike to ride with you, what a sweetie. Getting thin so you feel like you "deserve" your DH - hmmmm - i think/hope you know better. he loves you now - size doesn't matter, but smaller definitely will help with your medical issues, diabetes gone - and HBP is lower now. true," personnel" things you and DH will enjoy as you "grow" smaller. True - age is just a number. Every year my number goes down and down and down!! LOL I was one month shy of being 58 years OLD when i had the sleeve. now,7+ years, i am now 65 years YOUNG!! keep up the good work kathy congrats
