    My Success! I feel amazing!

@@Queen P the "bad" stories frequently stick out to newbies et al your story and others like them make people feel good, optimistic lost 90 lbs?? don't look at me, i didn't take them wonderful attitude, weight loss, and pics too high blood pressure gone, joint issues too wrap them both up (other health issues too) and you get "quality of life" as you put it health, happiness, success, what more could you ask for?? maybe those last 12 lbs to GOAL?? (no hurry, patience, last few lbs are hard to get off ) that's ok - you'll appreciate them more when it happens "steamy love affair with hubby?" -_-boyfriend too keep up the wonderful job i know you will kathy congrats
  4. @@tia92 like you - @Kate_UK @Soodoo also live in the UK I "think" living in the UK, it takes a longer time to have to wait for surgery 2-3 years, "maybe" up to 10 years egads I "think" Canada has a long waiting list too other countries maybe if a person in America is waiting for surgery due to approval from insurance - it could take as long as one year, maybe 2 years i was approved in 6 months others are approved quicker, or later good luck kathy

  9. @@grandmaofone sounds like once you were approved and he was denied - your husband went through sad/angry feelings about being denied (i think it's understandable) he didn't want to go to pre-op sessions with you et al but once you had surgery, he was wonderful, acommedating (msp ) staying with you always helping at home, checking on your meds and all your other needs showing his true colors now he is also drinking Protein shakes, going to the gym etc as time goes by, you are loosing a little more weight than he is many of us here are disappointed if they don't loose as much as someone else in the same time period incorrectly compare their weight loss to others as OP said, men do usually loose weight faster than women continue to work, eat with each other help each other with your eating watching what you both eat encourage him to learn similar rules that you are already following Water, etc hopefully he will stay on the straight and arrow too but..........if he changes his mind about eating correctly don't follow his new/old bad habits don't let him sabatoge you you had MAJOR surgery to help/assist you in your weight loss continue to follow ALL the rules for yourself/health/SUCCESS etc As hubby watches how you eat/how little, he will eventually remember this is not "the easy way out" (i cringe when ever i hear that expression ) he also wanted to have surgery (unfortunately he wasn't approved ) hopefully your husband and you can work together by the way i had to highlight the word FOREVER in your post what ever people loose will/is great!!! but weight loss is FOREVER if you continue to follow all the rules - always, always!! good luck kathy
  10. @@Hello new me welcome newbie the more the merrier there is another thread here on the board with OP having a lower BMI (lower than 40) "they" have probably experienced similar comments, looks etc from others many/most people get approved for WLS if their weight is very high and they have many comorbities its like the worse the better how crazy is that? you shouldn't/must not justify your necessity/feelings/reasons for wanting/having the surgery performed - this is your business not up to "them" or anyone else (family, friends, etc you gotta let those stupid comments roll off your back (easier said than done) this is your body and decision "I don't know if there is a place to turn now for guidance and support. Most people on here seems to all be working towards the same goal and are pretty supportive. I decided to post today to both vent and hopefully find a place to turn to during the upcoming weeks, months, and years!" This is the exact place to be preparing for surgery you'll see many great questions that you might have also been wondering about pre-op you e find many/most of us very supportive!!! receive helpful information before and after you are sleeved you will hear questions/comment about having surgery elsewhere (ie Mexico like you) there is a separate forum on travel to mexico (not sure that is wear you are going) you will get good comments/help from OP we are allll working on getting feeling heather and happier learning how to deal with maintenance after goal after surgery keep coming back to this board you will see many wonderful people here (especially me ) post op, ask your questions/assistance from others who have already had surgery you'll find others that have had surgery at same time period than you you are not alone vent away, other good reason to "show your face" August 6th is around the corner good luck with surgery speedy, uneventful recovery kathy

    Supervised Visits Not Consecutive?

@@fluffytofit calling during lunch time might be very hard they are busy at that time, and you''ll probably have to wait along time by then it will be time to go back to work you will probably/understandably get frustrated you must stay on top of calling the insurance company otherwise they might put you on the back burner then "they might "accidentally" forget about you I believe you should initially be nice to authority figures you can catch more flies with honey but after awhile - no results/help you have to dig your heels in so you can/need to get "assistance"/help good luck bud kathy

    Supervised Visits Not Consecutive?

@@fluffytofit My "official" answer is check with BCBS - they can give you the answer my "not official" reply is the following having the same insurance company now and before is great BCBS could/should check their records and verify that you have already gone to two supervised visits hopefully this can be done w/no trouble IF you are required to have those two visits again, bummer, but it will get done "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" good luck with continuing the hoops of insurance you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life kathy

  19. @@Hipigrl welcome to sleeveland sorry about all your physical issues/surgeries with your back, foot etc they should improve gradually as you loose more weight initial 50 lb pre-op weight loss is/was great another 24 lbs post op!! you are doing great!!! continue to read the board and you will get more and more good suggestions (Vitamins etc) at the end of the only listen to your NUT!!! (me too of course) i take the bariatric vitamins these are "horse" pills, but i manage no problem some others take chewable vitamins (flinstones)?? ask your NUT for help, suggestion on what vitamins to buy ask for help with Protein choices too "vegetarian not a vegan" don't know the difference Peanut Butter eggs (can you eat?) glad you eat/like yogurt i love Fage 0% plain greek yogurt 100 calories (5 3/4 oz) i add in one sweet and low 8 blueberries (yes i count them ) mix everything together, yum yum this gives my 18 gr of protein many others eat light and fit dannon yogurt cottage cheese ever popular Protein Bars many buy the Quest bars they are very good 20 gr of protein but they can be addicting (to me, they are so yummy) calories about 180-200 cheese is great for protein is fish ok for you?? tuna fish, baked haddock?? there are probably others here that are vegatarians i always used milk with my Protein shake pre-made (with milk) a shake has 20 gr of protein my GNC has 25 gr protein but.......you can mix the powdered shake with Water i've heard you can also add some powdered protein into various foods (i don't remember what "they" said - cuz i never did that) but it sounds like a good idea helping to get more protein in if you are allowed to drink coffee - some people put in you are to a great start keep it up for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life having your beautiful baby is a great motivator to get/stay healthy good luck kathy

Gastric Sleeve almost 4 years out

@@lisamarie61 welcome to our "club" congrats on your first post i've felt that sick feeling a few times i tried to force the food out by vomiting i stopped doing that as quickly as i started when i feel/felt awful, (i turn red and hot ) i lay in bed fall right to sleep cuz of the horrible way i feel in about 30 minutes i will wake up and feel fine (except for the angry/awful/guilty feeling of overeating ) please don't try and continue to force yourself to throw up not good for you you know that i hope you can get some relief a better way are you possibly eating too quickly?? after 3.5 years i would have thought you would already realized what food was not good for you but food choices do change - something new can disagree with you i think if you are having dry heaves, its your tummy and head telling you to STOP IT some other people MIGHT be going crazy with someone trying to vomit many others vomit - and would probably give anything not to have to vomit hope everything else is moving a long well you were sleeved 2 months before i was or, i was sleeved 2 months after you were congrats on loosing 95.5 lbs good luck kathy
