@@Katnroyal you look great too!!! when you are a youngun 20's - your body has more elasticity therefore it usually firms up better/more than an old fart of 62!! ProudGrammy replied to SkinnyWannaBee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@SkinnyWannaBee congrats on loosing 15 lbs pre-op!! 40 lbs after surgery!! 55 lbs total weight loss is exciting!! i am NOT in the medical field but i AM a smart cookie!! LOL it will take time for your new little tummy to settle down/heal since you just had the EGD maybe like you are just starting over as if you were sleeved yesterday you are now able to eat a little more food after a while your eating will move forward eat different things hopefully things will continue to improve your new "normal" will be regular "good healthy, nutritious foods you will have variety not shakes only for the rest of your life feel better sooner than later good luck kathy http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/429-gastric-sleeve-surgery-complications-support-group/ -
Any Medics out there?
ProudGrammy replied to FluffyMcMarsh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@FluffyMcMarsh as EF Hutton says "when doc talks everyone listens!!" if your doc gives you permission to go back to work in 4-6 weeks that's great don't go back to work til you feel 100% not good for you or patient!! volunteer paramedic wife here - does that count hubby had surgery on his shoulder a couple of years ago doc wouldn't approve his return for 6 months!!!! but that was his shoulder NOT his tummy normal OP have to wait 6 weeks to lift after WLS each doc is different - listen to him only (or me too LOL) for example you aren't supposed to lift a baby for a couple of weeks or so 20 lbs or so ( i think) baby has to change his own diapers in the mean time! LOL) maybe you will be able to go back to work sooner than later since it's "just" your stomach involved so IMO - maybe 6 weeks or so (just MY thought) you can go back to work maybe 1/2 days? no medical person here just a smart cookie in the house!! LOL hopefully you will be back to work sooner than later!! good luck with sleeve surgery in april speedy recovery kathy -
US vs. Mexico?
ProudGrammy replied to Secretlyskinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@secretlyskinny73 so many questions, so little time!! LOL welcome, welcome and welcome always nice to meet new people lapband, sleeve, RNY etc we're allll great you've been researching for a couple months continue to come to board read and hear other peoples questions and answers you might (probably) will find similar questions to what you were thinking about look at books ie WLS for Dummies others in that series too! Knowledge is Power eating fast, large quantities is in your soon to be past life!!! you MUST learn to eat slowly and very small portions this is essential you can practice the above before surgery i think the lap band works differently than the sleeve so other lappers will have to discuss, explain different things to you (you said sleeve on your post, but lap band is also shown) doesn't take much to confuse me LOL glad you're insurance covers the lapband it takes a little longer to jump through hoops of insurance you've been overweight all your adult life so waiting a longer wouldn't be awful but i get it that waiting is a bitchhh!! waiting to have in the states IMO makes more sense you will find cheaper docs in Mexico many people love mexico i have heard some people don't want to wait for insurance/hoops and do travel very happy with results cost isn't too bad if you have no other choice (ins doesn't cover) repeating i would stay in the states where you would be covered (my opinion) sure you'll have certain things to pay out of pocket i would rather not travel to Mexico or anywhere else not to mention hospital is close to you my reason, for staying in states i would like to see my doc anytime i wanted to face to face talk to him my opinion, and i'm stickin' to it LOL most of us have stress, and LLLOVE food feeling better about yourself might ease your stress i still love and think about food but not as often as before lot of head doing, soul searching you must do having surgery alone will not fix everything you need to"fix" your mind, attitude, lifestyle will take time to put everything together but you can do it!! as usual this post was too long did you take periodic naps LOL i think others do good luck decision are hard to deal with sometimes Mexico vs United State? what to do, what to do!! good luck bud kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Nurse_Lenora i'm saying the below with huggggs (cuz that's what i do) !!!! from the previous good post from OP, i'm sure you realize don't weigh daily a stall means no weight loss for at LEAST 3-4 weeks NOT 3-4 days "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" you need to drink at least 64+ oz of H20 (for the rest of your life) please get out of the corner - you don't belong there you know what to do to help matters move along on the "plus" side you are down 40 lbs! you are approaching onederland! when was the last time you could say that?? keep on truckin' never give up not an option!!! i have confidence in you don't make me wrong (did i say that right) good luck kathy -

Amount of skin removed?
ProudGrammy replied to roundisashape's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@@roundisashape congrats on loosing 105 lbs i see you still want/need to loose more weight after you've lost weight, your skin starts to "settle" down firm up a "bit" after GOAL this especially happened with my rear end "some" skin did tighten up a bit not that significant, but definitely tightened up iMO you should wait till you are at goal giving things time to settle down a bit THEN in 6 months - a year have reconstruction it's worth the wait "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It!!" @@JamieLogical - oh, oh -i just read your post - and saw you said the same thing i did!!! (actually i wrote what you said without knowing it!!!) ooooops you are obviously a smart cookie!! GMTA 6 months ago i was "brave" and had a face lift main issue was my double/triple turkey neck (always had, but got much worse after -105 lbs down) now neck looks great, lots of wrinkles gone too remember i'm "cute as a button" !!!! no weight/"poundage" taken off neck/face but- i lost about 100 lbs in my "mouth!!!!" still have excess!!! good luck kathy -
