@@Margie122 et al you did great!!! i knew i was rooting for the right team 4.2 lbs total weight loss being in the 180's woo hoo party dance, party dance!! congrats bud!!! your slow cook beef meal sounded great - you forgot to invite me!! LOL that's great that your restriction is flourishing!!! i agree - eating/snacking is one of those "old habits die hard" something i always have to think about not doing weighing weekly instead of daily you are not staring at the pot every day waiting for water to boil you are not staring at the scale everyday to see the # move!! ok, drumb roll............. starting weight 140.1 ending weight 136.8 3.3 lbs loss!! could have been better could have been worse!!! i'm living in my happy place!!! never did a challenge on the board before pretty cool doing this!! hmmmm, NSV?? Margie, me, and anyone else congrats on completing this challenge you are now a better person LOL kathy -
@@Mike Dumas hey dude has anyone welcomed you yet?! that's great that you have been reading the board learning good info good luck to finishing jumping through the hoops of insurance you'll get there sooner than later some docs put you on pre-op (ex liquids only) good luck with that!! if you can get through this, you can probably do anything good luck kathy

@@Margie122 et al Day 5 swollen on one side, don't know if that's normal but are you bud? (normal) !! i love tomato soup, maybe i''ll have later coffee sound good too!! i know you have done so well!!! big weigh in tomorrow!! drum rolllll! NSV i have gone on treadmill every day for 30 minutes i have confidence in myself - i will work hard and continue for LIFE or..... until i die from exhaustion which ever comes first i have a confession i cracked a couple of times i ate two protein bars and two yogurts i cheated and weighed myself this morning!! this was against the rules people have been shot for less!!! down 2.9 lbs that's a lot less than it should have been!! but its something!! head hanging low please don't tell anyone, our secret ok? still have today's weight loss to subtract tomorrow maybe i will have lost 37.6 lbs over night!!!! LOL one more thing you washed your windows today!! i'll be expecting you tomorrow to wash MY windows any other takers?!! LOL good luck with tomorrows weigh in i know you did great (hopefully, maybe, not sure, but possibly!!!! no pic after 4 years i still haven't learned how to post a pic!! please don't thrown any Protein shakes at me!! i spray skillet with non-stick i cut/ brown/cook chicken into small strips add/mix 1/2 cup chicken broth mushrooms green peppers leftovers are good yum kathy -
@ pre-mixed bottle GNC Lean shake high-Protein Shake - 25 gr protein swiss chocolate my favorite terrific after i drink this i feel like i've gone to heaven and back!! still drink this post-op good luck kathy

@@FMoore2004 i love scrambled eggs i found, bought a realllly small frying pan for one egg easy, quick to make can't have til you are on soft foods now i have been drinking my GNC 25 gr lean Protein shake (swiss chocolate) on an occasion i have had a bowl of Special K with Protein (solids) - i am a VET - so no one will yell too loud at me check with your NUT - since we're not supposed to eat and drink together, she might say no to cereal with milk if you don't add milk - "probably" ok quick breakfast to grab once you are eating solids - protein bars are yummy can be addicting - word to wise - eat with caution easy to eat too many (kind of like a "candy" bar with protein btw - no donuts allowed at any time glad you realize the importance of breakfast!! keep up the good work good luck kathy -

@@Margie122 you are doing terrific !! you are surviving and doing great i never had to do a pre-op liquids this is all new to me!! went to the movie "mother's day" today with Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston!! cute little movie - no oscars will be given, but it was nice to see with mom and sis big NSV, turned down popcorn from my sister!! she pushed it a couple of times, but I "stayed strong!!" ANOTHER NSV - i've stayed off scale since Thursday!! that's huge for me!! not going on scale daily!! am I great or what LOLOLOL i agree on the staying busy!! i have not went on my treadmill for awhile. i was on for 30 minutes the past three days!! another NSV!! treadmill is in a designated room, so i don't have any excuse not to use i've led a sheltered life i never did Zumba or isopure!! maybe will be NSV in near future!! OP, hope you don't mind margie and i communicating on this group board if you don't like it - DEAL WITH IT!! kathy -

(old expression i don't want to say again) no use crying over spilt Protein shakes!! LOL (i heard somewhere, "what's one day in the rest of your life?) i officially started yesterday (thursday 4/28/16) did terrific allll day 4 GNC Lean shake 25 gr protein each = (56 oz liquid shake) swiss miss is the only way to go!! 48 oz Water (will do better today) today is my 2nd day, off and running............. so far so good as far as staying off the scale that is a challenge for me too that will be a great NSV - i'm going for it too!! holding up a whiskey sour (ahhh i mean water!!) in my hand to our success later kathy -

@@1cutiejulie I never knew anyone who died during surgery (phew ) i never feared death (not even while i was morbidly obese) i feared living life being morbidly obese i've had many surgeries over the years (mainly orthopedic) anesthesia, actual surgery are just another day!! (ew, that sounds awful!!) reading the boards,you'll find OP who had mixed emotions prior to surgery (post op too) normal to experience different feelings i didn't feel the need to say an extra good-bye to loved ones i KNEW i would see them PO i said "see you later" a couple of times if it would make you feel better to say bye, go for it!! good luck next week speedy recovery kathy -

@@becomingmandikaye my initial answer is YES - didn't go out to eat, didn't buy fattening food in "bulk" like Cookies, chips etc saved lotttts of money what nobody told me was how much i would spend on new clothes LOL (instead of food) my "saved" money from food - went to clothes shopping new tops, jeans etc many people wisely go to thrift shops and pick up great clothes cheap prices - some things are new, still have tags on them good luck bud kathy -

@@claddagh66 Dawn heartburn, gerd, does/can get worse for some people post sleeve sounds like you investigated well before your upcoming surgery - you are aces!!! such a smart cookie LOL RNY might work better for you - good decision 4 years is kind of a long time PO - there are OP that have been here 7+ years!!! just to mention, the sleeve was invented over 100+ years ago!!! at the time it was used helping stomach cancer!! @@Jazzcat hey dude welcome to the neighborhood we have a secret handshake and everything!! different emotions (scared, nervous, excited) are all common many of us have feelings change as frequently as we change our undies!! you have another week to loose more weight you are already down 5 lbs!!! terrific!!! you could pack a few things to eat for an afternoon snack when you work ie a bit of cheese, yogurt your doc/nut (nutritionist) will tell you when you can eat nuts, celery, carrots etc dealing./watching others eat - good luck with that! i'm sure you will eventually find a way to "deal" with temptations/people around you!!! i turned 58 years OLD when i was sleeved now, 4 years PO, i am 62 years YOUNG!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy -
