50 pounds in 2 months
ProudGrammy replied to Keralian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Keralian what is the "normal" pace to lose weight?? people lose at there own speed don't compare your weight loss (or anything) to others here - ever! people have been shot for less! losing 20 lbs in two months is great but your weekly/monthly weight loss will slow down there have been discussions on board where/when do you start counting your weight loss per your profile you lost 10 lbs pre-op 40 lbs since sleeve 50 lbs total I don't "think" that's too much you are adding lbs you lost starting with pre-op others count lbs starting post-op either way is fine you go your way, and i'll go mine i would tell you to eat lots of Protein 5-6 small meals/portions to get more calories in nutritious meals - you must eat, and drink!!! the less you eat, don't eat - you possibly will be faint/dizzy i'm not the smart one to give OFFICIAL advice then again glad you are going to NUT/doc tomorrow he will help/guide you take care you'll get it together sooner than later!! good luck kathy -

So now I have killer gout!
ProudGrammy replied to GinaCampbell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@GinaCampbell i know GOUT is painful, terrible, no fun!! don't know about allopurinol? effect of crushing?? i do know that crushing certain pills are not good to do, loses its effectiveness?? i DON'T know if that's true for this med any and alll medical questions should always be addressed to your NUT/nurse/doc your nurse is "not concerned" about you being weak???? what is her explanation? having diarrhea can drain you mentally (running back and forth to bathroom, feeling tired and miserable and WEAK) more importantly it will help make you dehydrated! are you physically unable to drink, makes you sick, vomit?? if you are basically ok, just don't feel like drinking (since you are sick) you MUST push the fluids you are supposed to drink 64 oz a day (eventually) force yourself to drink newbies should always sip slowly you will eventually become dehydrated without drinking enough diarrhea/dehydrates you more!! talk to your medical team, feel better your health issues should improve sooner than later feeling regrets 9 days PO?? many people go through this stage hopefully as times passes, your regrets will too don't give up - please!!! give the sleeve a chance to help improve your life!!! have you tried a ready mixed btl of Protein shake?? protein is very mportant, it will help you warning - i know where you live take care good luck kathy -
i am beautiful you sure are!!!! we all must learn to love ourselves keep up the good work for the rest of your beautiful, healthier, happier, longer life kathy

Maybe I'm doing this wrong...
ProudGrammy replied to debd80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@debd80 at 11 days i was only drinking liquids, broth etc (per my NUT) Protein Shakes obviously help satisfy the need for protein they are/can be filling your new little tummy is less than 2 weeks old it just had major surgery, tummy is hurting and a little angry at you for messing with it LOL most NUTS have different rules per their programs I was on a mushy/puree foods for a few weeks then soft phase (yogurt, cottage cheese etc) FINALLY solids you are allowed solids at 11 days!!! in my case at that early time, no way would i eat 2 or 4 oz but that's just my case per my NUT "Maybe I'm doing this wrong..." i would talk to your NUT maybe you misunderstood about your eating plan?? just saying.... at 11 days, if there is a problem with your eating you should be able to fix it, learn from your NUT (unless this is what your NUT prescribed!!) good luck kathy -
@@grammydeb first off welcome to the Bariatric Board good for you testing the waters with this first post i am also 4+ years post sleeve i think tracking your food is very important to do (works for me) do you remember allll the rules associated with your WLS? Water, Protein, carbs, sugar - amount of each to have not drinking water with meals, waiting about 30 minutes after you eat before you drink? eating protein first? any questions, ask! you are a VET with years WLS but sounds like you are a newbie trying to get back on track also go to the right hand corner and do a "search" example put the word "coffee" and you'll get a bunch of areas to look up, info glad you are feeling and looking great you MUST follow all the rules for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy
