Should I change physicians?
ProudGrammy replied to teedsg's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
@@teedsg have you met with office/dr yet?? are you a n official patient yet? if you haven't done anything official yet with doc - i would look for another doc not a good sign being unable to reach office you might have a physical problem you have to talk about PO immediately or any basic question, or possible problem in action nutrition problems etc they don't reach you - oh no imo -not a good sign if they don't act quicker to a "cry for help" of a phone call many good docs in the sea - and operating room LOL good luck kathy -
I had to share...
ProudGrammy replied to luvelye1101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@luvelye1101 Congrats on your approval - oh happy day but..............being realistic Money situation can be hard for many whatever you have to pay, its worth the money 10 times over talk to medical office about payments drawing from 401 K is NOT the best idea "they" say you are just repaying your account so it's no big deal not true - there will be A LOT of tax situations/problems borrowing from 401K is not advisable !! use 401K as a last resort i would GIVE you the money if i were a millionaire, unfortunately........... check all over for help - look under rocks too good luck kathy -

How often do you weigh yourself?
ProudGrammy replied to spunkyheather's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@spunkyheather many newbies get extra frustrated if they don't see scale move daily if you weigh daily you will SEE the scale not move (if that's the case) upsetting!!! if you weigh once a week - hopefully the # will change after one week in other words you won't see that you haven't lost weight one day the first year i didn't do scheduled weigh ins every 2-3 day i would weigh in 4++ years later GOAL now i weigh myself daily for ME, that works i have heard from OP that weigh before and after going to the toilet !!! ) not kidding!!! LOL whenever you get on the scale, it's your decision don't listen to anyone else (except me of course LOL) good luck kathy -

Birthday cake, I'll pass......
ProudGrammy replied to Armygalbonnie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Armygalbonni i think for many (me) not drinking while eating is veryyyyyy hard i always drank while i ate since i was a little newbie 62+ years ago!! LOL i remember mom's breast then baby food like it was yesterday help for not drinking while eating?? Just Say No !!!!! easier said than done don't have Water et al around you while you eat if anyone else around you has a drink.... throw it in their face then duck!!! LOL in all honesty, don't expect or ask others to follow how you eat or drink OP reducing their intake around you is helpful/easier for you - buttttt there is no reason for them to HAVE to eat, drink like you (except their health!!!) not drinking while eating - the more you do it the easier it will get (kindof ) at 4++ years PO - i will have a few sips while eating, and drink sooner than later Do as i say, not as i do!!! LOL happy November surgery day speedy recovery good luck kathy -
@@bdejong LOL !!!!~ been their done that!!! its the "little" things in life that make you/me/all happy!! bless those little things!! I see many more funny/good/"interesting" NSV's in your future kathy congrats

How long were you out of work?
ProudGrammy replied to ALittleMe0914's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ two weeks off sounds like a frequent response works for many your body will be the official "leader" telling you when you are able to return to work many OP don't have the luxury to take as much time off as they want/need if you must return to work sooner than you like - try 1/2 days i returned to "work" the next day i am happily retired!!!! good luck to you and your new sleeve speedy recovery kathy -
@@northstar9148 many people don't like water (i love it) i'll tell you what i would say to them Deal With It !!! Get Over it!! liquids are essential in this program "normal" people should also be drinking 64 oz a day I have heard here that many people drink Chrystal Lite i guess it does have "fake junk" in it, but..... my NUT says to count my 11 oz Protein shake as a liquid it also has 25 gr protein, so that's great milk, tea (no soda of course) hopefullly you'll get other suggestions constipation?? never had that problem - good luck with that scale not moving is a bummer but that problem can happen periodically clothes are fitting better / great take your measurements about once a month you'll realize that you are losing inches - even if not weight but it all comes out in the wash - you will lose weight too good luck bud kathy

ProudGrammy replied to Armygalbonnie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Armygalbonnie exactly right!!! you are doing great practicing before your WLS!! losing necessary weight is great!!! working on when to drink, when not to? you said "haven't had any sugar since August 1st" good for you at some point, you can allow yourself a bite or two of cake if you can control yourself to stop then many abstain, not sure they can handle a JUST little bit i frequently will abstain from a goodie i love don't like to tease myself with a little bit - but that's just me did you know that patting yourself on the back is good for you too you are exerting arm around back and motion hitting back LOL must count as "some calories"??? hmmmm!!! keep up the good work, attitude/determination you've got a lot going for you kathy -
@@BobbyMacNCheese no expert here don't think it's possible to gain 10 lbs in one week just because you haven't exercised hopefully you are feeling better get back to your normal routine of Water, Protein - exercise etc things will "probably" turn around for the good sooner than later!!! don't worry tooo much it causes wrinkles!!! as @InnerSurferGirl said ..,.,,... (she is one of our registered smarties !!!!! - (seriously) " "Not knowing what your illness is, if you are concerned, you may want to run this by your doctor." btw - 400 to 185 (195) is amazing that's terrific kudos take care good luck kathy
