@tahunte YES VSG after knee replacement i was all set to have a knee replacement before VSG told doc about my sleeve planned in December he basically said something like "whoa, let's wait til after you've lost some weight, smaller weight will help with recuperation, doing exercises etc. . i had the sleeve about 6 months later after knee replacement. i had lost 63 lbs, before VSG (my total loss was 105 lbs GOAL) you probably want the VSG ASAP. is hard waiting to have knee surgery - but doc was right - made sense to have sleeve first GOD GRANT ME PATIENCE, Just Hurry ABOUT IT!! ABOUT ITGood luck with VSG and knees kathy

@primrose YES!! Weight Loss-Specific Gastric Sleeve Surgery Support Groups push the above link there are peopled on the board that have lost 150,185, 200+ lbs etc. as proven on the board, it is DEFINITELY doable as in loosing any amount of weight, it takes hard work, /determination/ persistence and patience. don't compare yourself with others, how fast they loose, and how much they loose in a certain time period, any one losing weight must follow the many, many important rules. good luck in January kathy

What should I do ? ...
ProudGrammy replied to sleevemebabyy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@sleevemebabyy I agree. give the scheduler a day to get settled back to work. then go to her office with a cookie in hand. that might encourage her to get her arse in gear hope things get rolling and you get a surgery date sooner than later. good luck kathy -

@beebee17 when i first met with my NUT pre-op, she brought up gum - said you should never have any.! i don't remember her exact explanation, something like it could get "stuck"?? wellllll, i haven't been a a gum chewer in a longgg time. no problem about no gum now. chewing gum must be nice - losing weight??? much nicer!! you are right, liquid diet is a bitchhhh good luck with surgery. kathy

@RetiredDude about 6 years ago, medicare told me NO to the sleeve. it was considered experimental!! A couple of years later, NY state medicare covered the sleeve. it was "around" 2013 good luck jumping trough the hoops kathy

@DK common phrase said here in WLS land..... "we're all different" many OP are aware that having heartburn already, the sleeve is NOT the best option. if you already have Gerd there is a strong chance you will develop it. @sleevedshereen said "feel like i'm cured of GERD" that's great, but not everyone gets that relief. @DK -talk with your surgeon again about the heartburn/your concerns. good luck with your important "life changing" decision. kathy

@Alex Brecher hi hope you are having a nice day. i was "fooling" around with things, pushing this and that, and somehow accidentally changed my pic to someone else on the board. i don't remember her name, i was looking at her info, somewhere it said "change profile pic" i pushed and her pretty face is now impersonating me LOL she might be on the 10 most wanted list!! LOL oh no...................LOL can you fix? if you know this profile - please come out and identify yourself!! LOL also i am an old pro at a ticker. trying to fix ticker, and page comes up yellow stripes over items?? whatttttt? please help kathy

Paralyzed leg with weight gain and Dr freaked me out
ProudGrammy replied to Happyinside45's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
there are many different types of WLS - including the lap band and sleeve and others. they are all great. (covering my arsettttts) in the past lap bands were popular and worked terrific (are"founder @Alex Brecherseems to be happy and continues his success these past !! 10+ years. many other people too. now - many docs/most don't perform lap band because of future possible problems like erosion, slippage. the sleeve has become very successful and done many many times. is the most popular WLS for now. i'm 5+ years PO sleeve -GOAL - down 105 lbs. You sound confused, don't just jump into lap band right away since that is the initial plan. you could easily postpone monday's' surgery. talk to doctor again, get info from the board, U-tube, read many boos -be more informed. "Knowledge is Power" good luck with this important decision. kathy -
@MISSGOGETTEA I am pretty sure @Annette1270 was referring to the initial poster!! - @Brit in Oz BUT even though i can't see your pic, i know you DO look fantastic too good luck kathy
