what a mess!! you went through all requirements then they turn around and say NO!! IMO - best thing to do is appeal, appeal and appeal!! know from the board that some OP have fought hard for a win. some OP have appealed up to 3 times!! finally won!! please do not give up. (that's what insurance wants you to do put your fighting gloves on and knock them out til they hurt!! you pay for insurance - and then they say NO!!!! they just don't want to pay YOU, after you pay them. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY makes the world go around!! don't give up!! good luck - kathy

ProudGrammy replied to xoxococojay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i reached GOAL in 2012 (maintaining my 105 lb loss) i rewarded myself with my first tattoo on top of my right hand!! It has the 1rst letter of my three (3) grand-kids Morgan Andrew E than little red heart under each of the three letters promised hubby i wouldn't do again for another 58 years!!! six months later i had the word survivor above my right ankle (i am a proud CA Survivor (now 18 years) couple months later i had a colorful butterfly above the word survivor my 87 year old mom loves butterflies, have butterfly pics, stationary, statues, checks etc - i had this word to always remind me of mom. i again promised DH - no more tattoo!! hmmmm - we'll see PS sorry not good at posting pics!! kathy -

Update your Profile for better Results?
ProudGrammy replied to DropWt4Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@Alex Brecher directions, how to make a ticker, edit a ticker, profile etc explaining to use the @ sign before the persons' name you are specifically addressing - ie @Alex Brecher then the person will be aware that you are addressing him/her!! PS - if your app doesn't show things, like having a ticker et al, maybe you could use your lap top and post, then go back to your phone - i know this is an extra "step" to do, but it would be very helpful. OP, add other things here i'm forgetting @DropWt4Life - great thread, thanx kathy -

Sleeve surgery internsl incision torn
ProudGrammy replied to Cambridge narrows gal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Cambridge narrows gal OMG - hey bud i hope you don't mind, but i am using you as an example of what newbies should NOT do. At 2 (two) weeks PO. docs will usually tell you not to lift anything. (except a glass to drink your shake or H20) LOL.. light housekeeping....I don't think so. you are in the healing process. even if you are feeling ok to clean - please don't. you should rest, take care of yourself - take yourself off the back burner - ask your DH/family/friend etc. to maybe help you. or - you can always let the house go to potcall your doc - betcha dollars to "donuts" he'll tell you to stop, take it easy, rest - and then carefully walk to his office. best of luck - kathy -
@Sophia Duran i would contact a NUT about a necessary plan for proper eating, drinking, all things pertaining to bariatrics. she could help set up a plan. if finances are an issue, try and find a way to go at LEAST once, you must gather info from NUT to help you learn about what to do next. sorry you were left in the dark with no plan/ help PO. There are so many docs out "their" with their own plans that OP here will talk about. you would blow your mind trying to figure bits and pieces from here and their to follow. if/when YOU get your own NUT - that's who you listen to ONLY. (or me too of course) the two things that are said by most docs etc. - get plenty to drink, as much as you can - hopefully you'll accomplish the 64 oz you are supposed to drink. Also get in as much protein as you can at this early point. most docs tell you at least 60+ grams of protein. right now, water is the most important of everything. you don't want to get dehydrated!!! good luck bud kathy
-
@Melesg ooooooops just realized you were asking about the ESG don't know if restriction and things are the same with sleeve. sorry bud kathy
-
@seeme1954 not meaning to be harsh, spoken with good intentions, daughter maybe is eating frequently when no one is around. chips, dip, cookies etc. also drinking empty calories from too much alcohol. i agree, discussing the situation "once" is fine. then don't bring up again. you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. good luck mom (daughter too!) kathy

I have 2 mths of sealed bariactiv chewable vitamins -anyone want them?
ProudGrammy replied to carla817's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
@carla817 thanx for the info. i'll check it out kathy -
@Melesg short answer - YES reached my GOAL (105 lbs down). couple years PO, still had some restriction but not as much as when i was initially sleeved. for me (and some others too) restriction gets less and less through the years in my case, (almost 6 years) it's more of a mental thing. i continue to try and follow all the rules i learned as a newbie. to me, water rules are the most important. protein, carbs, moderation, being aware of your portions. You work with your sleeve (or whichever WLS you had) - and it will work with/ for you. BUT - YOU are in charge. good luck bud kathy
