11 months post op and hungry every half hour...I am freaking out!!
ProudGrammy replied to up4challenge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@up4challenge you are at low BMI, (33) this does make a difference in how quickly you will lose weight. this is not a race, don't compare yourself to OP here that lose at a faster/different rate of time. it looks to me that you aren't eating any food!! don't be scared to eat, of course you are hungry. no food/no energy!! MUST up your calories!! eat more food. this probably sounds strange to some newbies - but it's a proven fact that OP have said. i'm sorry you are still having problems drinking your water. You must must force yourself to drink moire fluids. (easier said than done) sometimes drink water at room temp works for some OP. try it. other liquids like crystal lite are good. "they" say you can go without food for awhile, (if you must-but of course that's not good to do) BUT you can't go without water!! you have lost 11 LBS pre-op - 60 lbs post op - that is a great amount of weight - butttt please eat and drink more. (especially the drinking) take care kathy -

Almost one year post op water
ProudGrammy replied to Lise2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Lise2021 every morning i drink GNC/Total Lean Shake (swiss chocolate) - helps get my protein for the day. (25 gr) 14 oz. liquids! the crystal light is an old but true good suggestion/idea. gotta push yourself, you must!! easier said than done. But do it, for me? lol !! @Sosewsue61 - for me too, it's easier to drink when the weather is warm -(referring to different seasons) i am more thirsty. @Lise2021 - drinking to your health! good luck kathy -
Feeling no restriction at all :(
ProudGrammy replied to dzelaya90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@dzelaya90 3 week surgiversary - you are still a virgin!! people will not feel ANY restriction while they are on liquids. liquids pass right thru you. yogurt is a "slider", easy to eat, can eat lots without a prob. (not true for everyone, but for me it is) you can eat yogurt though. stop when you are supposed to stop. cookies, candies, popcorn, chips are also easy to go down, and you won't feel any restriction. so these foods are a sad "no no"!! if you have a meal, and you still are feel hungry - KNOCK IT OFF!! LOL amount you are allowed (even if you feel you could eat more - ) don't do it. People have been shot for less!! LOL there is a saying in WLS land - JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!! Ignore the head hunger (easier said than done) you should/need to measure and ONLY eat the allotted amount per NUT. (nutritionist) Not losing weight for one, two weeks is not an "official" stall. 3+ weeks is a stall . most people do stall during weight loss. stop worrying (you'll give yourself grey hairs/headaches) down 17 lbs - that's great. you are doing fine. good luck kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to MINI-Me's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum

"God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" -
@CowgirlJane EEEEEK, do my eyes deceive me? is that really you? hey sleeve twin - 6 years for me on December 15th. your sleeve is 4 days older than mine, new is better!!! LOL age before beauty LOL (kidding bud) There are some VETS @Julie norton (10 years LB) that are still here, hangin' around, they/me are like a bad penny, or the energizer bunny.!!(like me)!!! We keep on going and going and going etc. - they can't get rid of me - lord knows some have tried being sleeved was and will continue to always be a bigggg part of my life!! (i would never have met you if i weren't sleeved). many times i see OP reach out for help from OP that are older than have more experience -, not necessarily a VET. as you said, maintaining is very hard. Do you have any restriction left? i really don't. i know the sizes i should be eating, or on a rare occasion i will measure. for me its a head game/mental attitude - My NUT told me llllllong time ago - Eat til you are full, then stop 2 bites earlier!! LOL come around more often - it is nice for OP to hear your words of wisdom. Let's meet for drinks tomorrow - i'm buying - WATER of course - take care bud kathy

Im having trouble
ProudGrammy replied to Brebrejonassen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Brebrejonassen @DaleCruse said, "It sounds to me like you can't afford to NOT have the surgery" i agree with the above, probably many OP would also agree. you know that being overweight can/will cause many health issues/ problems (diabetes, blood pressure, joint pain. to name a few. etc Having WLS is life changing, would be terrific for you. turn in copies of ie your income, debts, electricity, heat, food, normal essentials to hospital hospital will/might help with your total bill .hospital would rather get some money from you than none at all (if they don't work with you) then hospital should/might help lower the bill considerably!! monthly pymts? this entire process will probably take quite a while,IMO it's worth the trouble. (and frustration) you will have to deal with. take yourself off the back burner. Go up front where you belong. i have confidence in you - get to work!! "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" best wishes good luck kathy -
