hi Blackanese25 i'm oly 3 weeks post opt too . I am only weighing myself every Monday morning. i know some of of you weight yourself daily but that would drive me crazy. (my DH says thats a short trip) Your weight might fluctulate do to Water as others said.daily gained weight might be due to water, that will probably see your weight fluctulate a little.. Or if you just had a dream about eating a Big Mac, fries and a soda, that will do it Please don't drive yourself crazy. Things will work out in the long run. You still might have gained a couple of lbs in a week, or stalled, but that wll run its course too. Continued good luck kathy

hi favoredone sorry about your slight fever, w/headache, but at least your mending thats great. i have to tell you that i'm jealous of you and your constant "naps" i could not sleep well cuz i had my big incision on my right side, and thats where i sleep of course. Laying down for me was totally terrible. It got better within about 5 days to sleep at night, but no way during the day. My 5 star menu consists of Protein drink, popsicles, broth & Water Glad you're coming along, glad you could go to church and see your friends - i don't know about having a friend that's a chef though that might be a little dangerous Continue to get better, can't wait to see you around the water cooler happy new year kathy

Hi Laura, Why would so many people have the lapband, and then go to the sleeve, if they were happy with the band. Going to the sleeve to be successful is the way to go. Good luck Happy New Year kathy

hi Lola43, The best advice I can give you is to consolidate all of the above, and use everyone else' s advice. I hope that doesn't sound like a cop-op. But its true, listen to all, and use pieces here and there. I think LongLife said it best "I think the key is to keep calling your surgeon constantly": Once the Dr. puts down their scalpel there job is only 3/4 done. They should answer all questions, give you more info, and help you deal with any problems, doubts you have etc. Don't let him intimidate you. If you go to see him possibly bring a friend or family member with you for support. Continue to call him for answers, if a nurse tries to help you, great, but you should talk to the dr. Be persistent . This was a very important major surgery, you've had problems and now you need their assistance - thats his job. Good luck towards the best year of your life Kathy DOS 12/15/11

hi all i spent 2 wonderful nights in the hospital By the end of 2nd day, the nurse asked me if i had a bowel movement? I was thinking about saying yes, but i told the truth and said no, she said ok, tomorrow ( 6:00 am) you are going to have a suppository . Oh joy i know that due to all those pain meds you can have a problem in the bathroom. (just like you said JoyGerm ) BTW, if we can't talk about "bowel movements" amongst our family, who can we talk to ' I'll be toasting 2012 with my DH and a Protein shake. kathy

hi 5DogMa,Best to being on the road to recovery, you will continue to be on the mend. I agree that one of the scariest things for a dr. to say "I could die from my obesity and related conditions" I think that is why we are all here going through this surgery, doing whatever we can to get better for our health, loved one, friends, but primarily our extended good health and our lives turning for the better for ourselves. Good afternoon all, i just went to my local grocery store, they have some baby supplies there. In one pkg there were 6 itsy bitsy teaspoons. I also bought little bowl w/matching covers. Besides being really helpful - they are the cutest things you ever saw Amanda that was a great suggestion about the cup warmer. I'm going shopping today. As far as eating w/the family - my DH feels funny eating in front of me. i tell him it really is ok - but he still feels weird eating what he does in front of my delicious oatmeal. kathy

please help me i am computer illiterate - i would like help w/my blog, ticker and my fitness plan my ticker is finally started - but i don't see it on the computer my blog has also been started, but somehow i've enterred and now have 3 blogs set up fitness plan i have password - but not able to do whats next i want to work on my blog especially, but i want to be able to post my food too on my fitness plass my ticker has been established but it never shows kathy

hi andrea, The one thing that is the same about all of us, is that we're all different. In my case i was able to swallow my pills right away. I was a little afraid to drink so much Water since it was only a few hours after surgery, but i managed to get all my meds down. good luck to you kathy

Hi livelaughloveme if you have not spoke w/a nutritionist at the Bariatric Center - please do so. It is their responsibility to give you all that information, what to eat, what Vitamins to take, how much food intake, etc. etc. You must get this info from the Bariatric Center. This is your new life. Walk don't run so you can learn all the answers to your questions. These are all the proper questions & more, they need to help you and be there for you. hi all i'm curious, i was also very tired post surgery, but i was unable to lay done. i couldn't lay on my right side (where my big incision was) and being on my left side hurt. too. No recliner either. How did you manage to rest/lay down. just wondering. thanx kathy

we always say follow the d instructionr. - at my 2 week post-op . at check-up doc told me i could take off my steri-strips. But if your dr. says keep um on...follow what he says. kathy
