Newbie 6 Days Post Op
ProudGrammy replied to jasonswartz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jason welcome aboard, its nice to have a man around the house, we don't have that many and always great to have a different perspective. Things should start turning around for you, you are still only 6 days out, and any discomfort will gradually go away. Everyones experience is different. As each day goes by, things should improve. Ask this board any and all questions, we're hear to listen and give advice, but remember your dr.s words are the most important. Good luck - can't wait to hear about whats going on - best wishes kathy WLS 12/15/11 -

Bread/toast Recommendation Please!
ProudGrammy replied to bellabbr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
bellabbr i bought these mini bagels - i measured out in pieces and one slice = 3 measuring cups fits criteria to eat - i had no problem with the digesting or any of that good stuff. Does bread have any protein? Waiting with bated breath for an answer. also kindof switching gears - what about sweat potatoes? ps - can't wait to try your heavenly cheesechake tomorrow! Kathy -
my DH is morbise, he has really never tried to lose weight. he is 55 and i am 58 yrs. young- his weight doesn't bother him/he does support my losing weight cuz he enjoys the "less" of me for different reasons i.e. sex TMI? - but i also for that too reason would appreciate if he lost some weight. i have a variety of family/friends that are overweight also pushing the unreal foods and servings on me wanting to go out to dinner - like i used to. Its like they want me to join the party of being oerweight like they are, so i can be included in the club - just wondering about others - thanx kathy

bethp i saw my php last year and i weighed in at "too much for me" I was so upset I cried. i was all set for having the lapband done too. Went to seminar, doc suggested the sleeve. What?? i had actually never ever heard of the sleeve. Am I the only one...anyways..i'm doing so well w/my eating sinced being sleeved 12/15/11 - and i said to myself - wow, this is easy, i could have just done portion control!! eaten better instead of going through surgery et al, yeah, right!! That would have worked briefly like we all know, then i would have gained all of the weight back plus!! I'm so happy i got the sleeve.. Continued success w/the sleeve - i know i'm really happy. best wishes kathy

Can't Stop Crying...
ProudGrammy replied to Always Actnup's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey actnup wow, surgery is over, and you are still around to listen to us talk about it. Really not taking this lightly, this has been a scary venture, i don't know if you ever had surgery before so this could have been extra difficult. This is quite an undertaking, but a great step towards happiness but more importantly good health. this is a very hard yet bold step you took. i don't think "observers", family and friends realize what a big step forward this is, what a hard decision you made, your new eating situations that will lead you to a new and healthier and happier you. so, try and shed your tears - you might hit some little bumps in the road, but remember - you'll get over that big hump (hope i said that right!) good luck with your journey ahead best wishes kathy -

Sleeved Yesterday And Sick :-(
ProudGrammy replied to jwelk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi jwelk by the time you read this, i hope you are feeling some what better. every minute counts so maybe you are a little better. This is quite normal, being tired especially, nautious all that pleasurable stuff that goes with surgery. But really, this was will be worth it. from the wise word of pasmilton "a storm doesn't last forever!" Your poor stomach has been invaded, attacked Tummy is probably saying, "hey, what did i ever do to you?" You should reply with, "hey you have given me hell all these past umpteen years, and i want you gone, gone, and gone - don't come back ever!!" So Mr. Tummy is rebelling, taking his hurt feeling of pain out on you - don't let him win! This too shall pass as they say. you will feel better day by day, i promise best kathy -

hi sleevers i believe (will verify Monday) my NUT told me that you need to eat your meal over a 20 minute time periodl, After you take a bite, squish away, wait 3 minutes start again, after 20 minutes your are done- can't eat anymore else it is considered grazing. I am remembering this specifically now because i just had a scrambled egg which i could eat only 1/2 of - and i stopped after the required 20 minutes.Am I saying this correctily?

ProudGrammy replied to Disneytikifan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hey disney welcome aboard to the train of success WOO WWOO Glad your joining us - we all are great LOL As far as being overweight since the 5th grade, well i think we've all been there and back. Also lost weight only to gain it back, and just not able to keep it off. My DH and I always went out to dinner, whether it was my b'day or the 2nd day of the month starting w/a J - or my DH aunts cousin once removed, her friend - or of course the very important Ground Hogs Day. Whatever! By the way, we really are seriously saving alot of money. No kidding you will show to your son that eating wisely is the way to go, while i hope your DW starts to feel better. Although April sounds far away, it will be here before you know it. Keep reading this board to get a lot of good information for your upcoming VSG. Ask plenty of questions too. Good Luck Kathy -
fellow sleevers & friends i have a feeling i might have offended some people on the board (post #4) sorry - can't get away with it - but doe the size of my apology, is it accepted here i hope?? sorry again - your shy friend kathy

hi beuti - had to be one of the first to say ,"does size matter" teehee In all honesty the difference between most sizes of bougies doesn't count. One more thing, tif, could you make your font a litter larger too - font size does seem to be applicable best kathy
