  2. hi you have a double edged sword. 1. good for you, with all your morbities, weight, diabetes you should pass for the insurance, so try not to fret. 2. bad for you, with all your morbities, weight, diabetes - you have all these problems that will qualify you. - you should pass qualifying you for the insurance and the projected sleeve - which we all are here for and the end results, so i think having #2 is good for this situation. good luck best kathy

Hi all, i've always "liked" the taste of Water. I can "chug" water to a point, but i never seem to get enough water through the day. definitely not 20oz in a 1/2 hour period. (i know that was just an example.) i'm doing ok on my journey, but....if i i drank more water daily i probaly would show better results of weight loss., am i right? kathy

    So Frustrated With Eating Out!

hi all - it is so hard dealing w/others who actuallly have the "nerve" to eat alot. in front of me when/if we go out. Some people are average weight, others are so thin - these 2 groups can eat and eat with out gaining an ounce. Then there are people like my DH who are over weight and enjoy eating.. I will be trying to convince DH to get sleeve later after me. But i know it will be his decision, and if he finally does get the sleeve, but really doesn't want to do it - he won't be successful. But yeah i still can't help but to love him :tongue2: Then there are people like me who will eat and eat, look at a plate and gain 20 lbs. not fair. Two weeks before WLS i had my food funeral, i just ate alot and alot - which was really wasn't hard for me to do nothing new, but i even ate more than usual. I was amazed at how much weight i put on in that short time period - it was so easy, in other words, yes - i "smile" when looking around sometimes as people overeat, cuz i know if i did the same (eat alot) i would just continue to gain and gain and gain. So yes all, i do miss the excess food while i see others eating, but i also feel relieved when i tell myself - no you don't want to ever look heavy again.- so don't even think about that piece of apple pie. try to over eat like that. basically i know i know , i will have to eat properly on my journey only fotat of continue work to do, but its only for the rest of my life. boy is it hard - and yeah - my WLS was only 12/15/11 - so i have alot in front of me on my PLATE. man it takes me so long to say what i think everyone else knows and said, but you knowi sometimes i write it out, i convince/ and tell myself - i do really mean and understand what i say.- do you? man oh man -I just re-read above, if anyone took a nap while reading this - i understand.. ps sorry my fonts keep changing. trying to work on that. kathy
  11. HI all, like many, i had to go to 3 support meetings before my WLS which was 12/15/11 Most everyone though at the meeting were pre-op, I know, I know, so whats wrong with that!! Nothing of course!!!! Oh well - i should have stuck it out and gone to other meetinings to meet others. i'm gonna try again, maybe i will find some others who have already had the surgery. It is true meeting other people that already have had the WLS so you could talk face to face would be nice, sharing your experiences.I would love to pick up pointers. BTW SKCUNNINGHAM - great new picture - you are basically at goal now - you look mar......rvalous :tongue2: Best Kathy

    New To The Page

Hi mama All doctors are different. I was't required to have a pre-surgery diet either. But follow what your dr. says allows, today, tomorrow and like i said always. glad you are getting a "hold" of yourself and realize you should be #1 too. I was told the reason many dr.s want you to lose some weight prior to WLS is because of your fatty liver that we have. i think i said that right. OMG march 28 is right around the corner best wishes kathy

    Help!

hi minismom sorry for your weight gain, BUT don't worry. don't beat yourself up over it. My WLS 12/15/11 - i considered the beginning of the month my funeral, and i went crazy on wild and nutty things to eat, cuz i figured i would never be able to eat them again, or in very small quantities. I did gain weight, but i was having the WLS in a couple of weeks. so i figured.... Was treating the world like it was going to end tomorrow. i wasn't required a pre-liquid or anything diet., i wish i were. I really didn't take the time before surgery seriously enough, and try to lose some weight, Some others do the same....wrong.....but mistake is done and over with. Can't change whats already happened. You on the other hand are so wisely aware of what happened with you gaining weight. You'll do better. Don't kick yourself for gaining -you'll probably lose the weight and more before WLS Surgery is not til July. I know you will work hard and probably lose some weight will come off before the WLS. Regardless, like i said, its over, can't change, sounds like you will do great. See you around the site in preparation for WLS July will be here before you know it. Best Wishes Congrats on your pending WSL kathy

4 Weeks Po & Not Losing

hey teambrown4 i can understand you being pessimistic (for now) but give this a much longer chance. All those other groups, jenny craig, ww - yes we have all been there. But usually the weight comes back - least for me. With the tool of the sleeve - you should do much better. It is discouraging not to lose weight yet. Hope you will have a good talk with your dr. I can tell you are doing all the right things with food and exercise. You took the most important step, the WLS. It wasn't in vain, be positive. good things will happen to you best of luck kathy
