I Feel Like I Can Eat Anything Is This Normal
ProudGrammy replied to lowe1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lowe1961being able to drink more than sips is great - but you are early WLS - so don't gulp yet - at a later point you can drink faster. i think many people can take more than sips - i know i could if you are feeling full at the proper time during your eating - great, stop when you are full - than stop one bite earlier my drs. joke sounds like you are doing fine - you are doing things properly keep up the good work kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to GoState's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GoState haven't experienced this situation, but i hope you start to feel better I don't think think this is caused by lactaid milk maybe others will come up w/a better explanation good luck kathy -
deborahg glad to hear your fever is gone - and you are feeing fine i think a few of us were concerned about you, you were just out of the gate, and infection or whatever other problem might occur. knowing we are layman - dr. does know best - especially in this case it turns out doc was right. i still think it is strange that being 3 days PO - your dr. wasn't concerned more about the fever. best health kathy

hmmmm learn something new everyday when i came home after WLS i had some aching problems with my stiches, lasted 3 nights, so by the end of the day i fell asleep easily-sleeping was never a problem usually woke up a couple of tiimes at night (bathroom break) but i had no trouble falling back to sleep, that was just me - i should listen to my words - we're all different in things for ie sleep sweet dreams kathy
-
hey newbie - 11 days post WLS - you deserve the title i never had sleep problems - sorry this is going on with you. not sure if you can attribute the lack of sleeping to WLS maybe others can chime in with a better answer wishing you have sweet dreams soon kathy

i'm glad your fever has gone down the fact that your dr. said he "doesn't think there is anything to worry about" well, we all listen to our dr.s i just know the word fever to me, doesn't sound great a few days after WLS, or any surgery since your fever is going down - sounds like all will be well - and you can continue on your journey luck kathy

aw wow these words are so true - little girl is so cute out of the mouth of babes kathy -
Girlfriend egads in my case "being fat was the same as being miserable" i'm sorry you have these problems ater WLS - as everyone says, things will improve as far as drinking Water at a slow rate, thats good for you when you first start out, being mindful that you did have major surgery, and now a new tummy - which might be a sore for a bit verify with NUT, when you should be drinking a little more at a time - remember, all NUTS are different i was drinking water "faster/but still carefully sooner than later, because NUT told me i could do so as long as felt comfortable enough, not hurting how long will I be sore - common question - we all respond to pain in different ways, heal at our own speed. here's to a speedy healthy recovery feel better good luck kathy

many diabetics get rid of diabetes shortly after WLS wishing you luck in getting rid of the nasty diabetes that plague many of us after 20 years i was lucky enough to get rid of all my meds and insulin too. good luck on your pending surgery kathy
-
Morticia welcome 8/14 - your surgery being right around the corner, i know you are getting so excited. there are a lot of people on this board that love to respond to any and all questions, right at your disposal. for now you are the Newbie needing so many answers to your questions - before you know it, you'll be the old timer with many answers, continueing the cycle all over again helping others. good luck on pending surgery kathy
-
vin294 let me be the first to welcome you aboard if your dr. never mentioned preop "liquid crash" - then you don't need to do it. You might want to lose a little weight pre- surgery, but thats up to you. all drs. are different, some tell their patients to do the pre-op diet, others don't. My dr. didn't require it. good luck on pending surgery kathy

Lissa i thought they wouldn't perform any plastic surgery til about one year out post WLS - could be wrong (good question to maybe ask L'l Miss Diva) you will be seeing plastic surgeon end of next month, he'll explain about everything. great that your dr. took pictures of your different phases - that is totally helpful/necessary to be approved by insurance. dr. commenting on how great you look is terrific, suggesting its not necessary for you to lose any more weight how nice to hear, but.... If you would feel better with 10 -20 lbs more lbs, go for it. What do you have to lose from reading all your past posts, i know how much you exercised to help prevent/alleviate a lot excess skin from showing its ugly face. i know you will continue the exercises for toning and just...to keep being fit ps - i never exercised - have mainly hanging skin from my behind was too embarrassed to go into gym. i should have gone to gym, but i'll work on that now theres always tomorrow sounds like insurance will pay for tummy tuck - totally terrific - i would definitely have the procedure. as far as your rolls with tummy - have the operation - but i don't think your tummy weighs 20 lbs or so,, again could be wrong (always cover my ass) congrats on all your hard work great job kathy
-
my butt has "down sized" a lot thats ok, as with everything else on me, it was too big, was glad to lose a lot in my caboose Just wish that excess skin wouldn't hang around kathy

Nsv - While Driving
ProudGrammy replied to windycitymom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
i haven't been driving much in the past year or so. last month i got into my car, sat down for the first time in months in the drivers seat, i said WHOA, as i was "falling backward" i said, "whats going on?" i realized due to my weight loss my body went all the way to the back of my seat - far away from the wheel OMG - i used to fit up at the wheel pretty snug , things do change kathy keep on truckin', or should I say "keep on driving" -
A1C Level To High For Surgery
ProudGrammy replied to Mslnzee2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Msinzee this doesn't make any sense to me either. my diabetes was always controlled with my meds, A1C never higher than 6.7 usually much lower - talk to your PHP about this problem. what does surgeon want you to do so you can have WLS yes one big reason to have the WLS is to alleviate some of those high numbers, or in my case after 20 years, of being diabetic i no longer take any meds or insulin WOOHOO i hope this gets solved and you will have your WLS sooner than later good luck kathy -
polandspring hey hey hey congratulation on getting the AOK for surgery you just found out your going to have WLS on the 30th woohoo get a hold of yourself, take a bunch of deep breathes - then jump up and down & start screaming, come on, we all want to hear you good luck kathy

On Surgery Day..
ProudGrammy replied to Half~of~Bri's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
brianna there are so many questions to ask your surgeon pre-WLS. This is one question i forgot to ask i did have a catheter, it was removed almost immediately in my room after WLS all dr.s are different though - ask your dr. "will you" or "will you" not have a catheter? good luck kathy
