    Just Curious

jen i had a wonderful surgery, terrific hospital stay - and great recovery many times you hear more of the "bad" stories because people are calling out for help and support - thats what many people seem to remember and take note of - people with problems telling, asking others for help and support is why we're here many times those stories stick out in your mind - when the reality is that most people have only good/great things to say there are regular problems like gas/nautious/being extremely tire. - but they are normal - and shouldn't count as a horror story good luck kathy
  3. hey dude you look great you must feel so much healthier and happier, and all that good stuff luv to read success stories congrats kathy

  9. dooteryou are right about people not talking about the good things. we do come on this board asking questions, reporting bad things that have happened that day, being sick, all that good stuff. ******************************************************************************************************** Birdy18 i was in hospital 2 nights - no major problems/or surprises with recovery. "little" nautious at home, didn't sleep well first night cuz of stiches. other than that - smooth sailing since WLS almost 8 months ago when i'm on this board , i would just feel silly saying "hey guys I'm having a great day" but "hey guys I am having a great day. a day in the life of me DH is home telecommuting - our small heat wave has settled down to 75 - and i bought a wendy's almond/berry 1/2 salad - um um good for lunch- also went to kohl's and bought new gym exercise clothes - can't get much better than that kindof boring - but i'm loving it continue "enjoying" your pre-op diet 8/20 is right around the corner woohoo you are getting excited, and nervous too - we can all feel your vibrations congrats on being a soon to be sleever good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy
  10. carolcthe fact that you got an earlier date is super wonderful., good sign not having time to worry as much is great, now you can be real excited, and of course maybe a little nervous too - all feelings are typical/normal 9 days before WLS, i was told dr needed to reschedule my WLS i was so upset - it was a 3 week delay good luck on WLS speedy recovery kathy

    What I Won't Miss....

Renea77i always avoided the camera like it was the plague When i wasn't that heavy yet, stiill didn't want to have a picture taken of me - didn't want others to see what i looked like, i think they already knew thats why i don't have any decent, old pictures showing how i looked , before and after i will not run away now when i see a camera kathy

  13. ssehol, correct, if you test positive for sleep apnea "its good", then you have yet another co-morbitdity for insurance purposes - one more "bad" thing that the insurance company "likes" so you can be approved for WLS good luck kathy

    Taking Care Of Myself

LouiseC i think its great that you are taking better care of yourself , treating yourself better, feeling good - just for you nice that Facebook friends are giving you encouragement with their heartfelt compliments, always nice to hear. i don't know how common it is for WLS patients to start taking better care of themselves. when anybody does their "grooming" better, it shows that you care for yourself more, and feel better about yourself too - so with WLS i could understand this happening in this case you've had WLS, lost a lot of weight, (or anyone at anytime of their journey) you are looking great, you just want that good feeling from inside to show on the outside too you don't need WLS for this change to occur - this happens to "normal" people too btw your new picture does look great keep up the great work kathy
  15. GoState newbies (veterans too) should be drinking all the liquids they can after WLS - broth, popsicles and lots, and lots of Water for example - the Protein shake is great too not sure about the juices your drinking its great that you can get all those liquids in - drink and drink - i don't think you can drink "too" much there are people here that have trouble getting in all their fluids - example ME  when you drink at this early stage, your tummy might not appreciate if you drink too fast. drink slowly, "they" say - sip - you need a minimum of 64 ounces daily - you are doing wonderfully good luck kathy

    Soooo Hungry

jennruslike an alcoholic in a bar, right? stuff like that "broke up with food yet everyone else is still dating" - love that **************************************************************************************************************************** hopefully after you've been "officially" sleeved - family et al might be a little more considerate seeing what you are going through your working hard now concluding your pre-op, maybe it just doesn't seem real til they see what you are doing Post WLS you are being strong, and not faltering - congrats good luck tomorrow with WLS speedy recovery best kathy

  20. to my buds in Sleeveland starting Water aerobics next week, can't wait,. bought a one piece nice bathing suit that looks good on me. haven't gone to gym , in a long time do to ortho problems mainly with my knee - wish i had tried to go to gym earlier - i think others have knee problems or whatever too and you go exercising - but tomorrow is a new day besides swimming, i am gonna try the eliptical, very slowly, to see if I can do? i use to be a wiz, and i loved it so much - wish me luck i know i should have started the water earlier, but here i am, better late than never i even bought a couple of nike shirts and 3/4 length stretch pants - they were on such a sale, plus i had a coupon too. it would have been a sin to pass up these clothes - people have been shot for less than that all above i bought at Kohl's the weight you lost has to go somewhere this hanging skin looks so bad, and you can't hide when you are in a bathing suit only about a handful of cover-ups left, end of season, so its just me and the bathing suit - in person - "hanging" around i've been enjoying life a lot more these past months, do to the help of a certain new tool that you can't buy in a hardware shop 81 degrees & sunny here take care all kathy

    Regret

RissyRoesorry you are feeling miserable buyers remorse happens at times to other sleevers too you made the wise/smart decision to be sleeved, don't second guess yourself now. take only those tiny sips of H20 per Dr./NUT. - you've found out the hard way that you will experience pain, if you drink too much at a time. Getting 40 grams of Protein - and 32 oz H20 is fine, you'll eventually be able to do more you will be able to gradually eat your favorite foods, but a very very small amount new tummy won't allow you to eat too much - thats the beauty of the sleeve. remember - sleeve assists you - like a tool you can't go back in time - you can only go forward enjoy your future with the sleeve sooner than later you'll realize that the sleeve is your new best friend good luck kathy

    Sodium - Daily Limit?

mesausedo sodium (salt) is in most foods, your body needs a certain amount of salt to "function" correctly i don't think theres a certain amount of sodium you must have - amount of Protein thats required - with sodium, don't go overboard kathy
  24. my dr. told me to never ever drink from a straw - your NUT might be different - IMO its good that you no longer use straw All that air and stuff does intermingle after 7 1./2 months i'm still burping - it doesn't bother me or DH, sometimes we get a good laugh over it i might continue to burp forever, oink oink what a piggy small price for losing weight with my partner the sleeve good luck kathy
  25. ProudGrammy

    Drinking Slowly

suzjag at an early point, i was able to drink Water quickly no problem per my NUT, i could start gulping my H20 - as soon as i felt i was ok we're all different though, remember thats what "they" keep telling us kathy
