  1. jen you have quite a bunch of kids and DH that you feel responsible for. DH doesn't get home til late hoping you have family/friends/neighbor to help you for awhile during recovery - even though DH comes home late/tired from a long day- hope he can still help by picking this and that up, doing laundry - even men can do this just a joke men, don't throw your dish towel at me being excited, nervous, excited, nervous again, scared, questioniong yourself about your decision to have the WLS, All perfectly normal thoughts you do read "crazy stories as far as recovery pain and issue after surgery" unfortunately they are true, you should be aware of these stories. All surgeries have risks ....... that being said - ALL the people, most of the sleeve community have good tales to tell. But people don't usually talk about how the good stuff. WLS was great, recovery too, no problems s with recovery etc. - BTW for me -no problems with my WLS or recovery. all went smoothly, support etc. there is a good thread somewhere on the board asking people to address their good situations, there are so many wonderful stories/ or simply saying how wonderful their WLS went, recovery - and "OMG, I love my sleeve" , so very happy, etc. etc. take a bunch of deep breathes speedy recovery good luck

How Long Does It Take You To Eat?

Nessa hi there from the beginning we're told to eat slowly, chew - put utencil down after between bites, butttttt....... an hour to eat???? are you intentially taking so long to eat, cuz you are thinking you are eating too fast, taking an hour to eat - IMO, thats a little too slow i never timed myself - i will have one bite, put utensil down, chew to death, and continue to eat slowly. 1/2 hr total time maybe? I'll try and remember to time myself out of curiosity tomorrow good luck you'll be fine

A1C Level To High For Surgery

MsInzee2010 my A1C level was always good, surgeon never mentioned anything about trying to improve sugars pre-WLS surgeon told me that the longer you've been diabetic, your chances aren't as good that your diabetes meds and stuff will be gone. that being said.......... 20 years i've been diabetic - hospital took me off meds - telling me to see my PCP within the month, see what he wants to do next - my A1C labs, were 6.0 - even lower now so guess what? took me off meds, insulin completely FYI - no more high blood pressure or cpap Anxious to hear your results - you will post them, ok? hope your numbers have improved a little and dr. will give you a break, and things will be good enough for you to have the life saving sleeve it is true of course, you have a good chance to have your meds be lessened or eliminated totally with the help of your SLEEVE good luck my friend

    Stupid Cravings!

refuse to watch live tv since they have soooo many commercials i tape everything on my DVR - watch later - fast forward through all those nasty food commercials for Cookies, pizza etc. i don't need that torture - and i do save time by "bypassing" way toooo many commercials "hearing" all those distractions with food - who needs them, not me good luck
  18. SicChl you are doing great, you are going at your rate which is terrific since you are a "veteran" you know that we are NEVER supposed to compare to others - ie how much or how long it has take to loose X amount of weight. People have been shot for less as far as munching and stuff, not stopping, -btw my NUT/dr always jokingly tell me to eat til i'm full, then stop 2 bites earlier in the movie Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicholas Cage - NC tells Cher - he loves her - she slaps him and says "SNAP OUT OF IT" so girlfriend thats what i'm telling youj - snap out of it!!! LOL - you are in that rut, its great to vent to anyone that will listen - me extending and raising my hand to you i hope you don't mind me joking around alittle - laughter is ok, right? did you know it takes more wasted energy to be upset than happy?? but...on the flip side - ALL of us need to vent, and mmmmany of us fall off that wagon that tilts sometimes. Include me with the other tilters Ok, seriously now - don't worry about others with there weight loss, if after 8 months you lost 50 lbs, that would mean you weigh 50 lbs less than you did 8 months ago - BUT, you are down 84 lbs - head high - you can complain, especially being upset over the few munches and stuff, but you know what to do and what not to do to improve yourself I (we) all on the sleever board have confidence in you - as well as each other - get better, feel better - you'll be back on track sooner than later good luck hmmmm, can i get arrested for once again writing a mouthfull - if that were true - i'd be serving a life sentence - no chance of parole ok - here i go - push send
