    Questions For Long Timers

Hi Kate i had my WLS because i had tried any all "diets" hate that word. I also lost a zillion lbs over and over, and then gained the weight back + congrats on loosing your weight again through proper eating & exercise if you think this is the time you can keep the weight off, thats great - no WLS necessary but...............if once again you are afraid you might regain the weight, the WLS sleeve is for you IMO the sleeve gives you alot of help to loose your weight, but.............you have to work with the sleeve by eating properly, small portions, following many rules, esp Water drinking before, during and after meal good luck DOS 12/15/11 235 lbs 10/15/12 145 lbs down 90 lbs want 10 more so i can join Lissa and others in the Century Club good luck on your decision

    Bcbs Alabama (Waiting Game)

hey slim now you must be patient, you can't call them every 2-3 seconds. call every 2-3 MINUTES trying to be serious , which is no easy feat for me, i would wait 10 days I would wait til Tuesday the 23rd, that will be 10 days for me, its more frustrating calling too early, and still being told to be patient. IMO giving it a good 10 days before you call is hard but good. GOD grant me patience, just hurry up about it Who knows, BCBS might call first, stranger things have happened!!! then they can surprise you with the good word. good luck my friend

    Sleeve Experiences - Negative?

Mike i am 10 months PO. i had no problems pre-op, during WLS, or after WLS. There are ordinary brief side effects, such as being nausious, having gas, being real tired. didn't experience any problems recovery was great complications do occur - bad stories that are posted are beneficial to read, NEWBIES should be aware of possible problems. If a sleever writes of an unfortunate experience - that sticks out like a sore thumb to people reading the board. But there are so many, many, many other stories of the wonderful experience people have with the sleeve. i hope you make the wise decision to have the sleeve, the results are wonderful, and the journey is great good luck

  25. GregI know exactly what you mean with above statement had my sleeve 12/15/11 - - been on disability retirement past 5 years since i was 53 - thus medicare. BCBS is my secondary from my office. dr.s office told me they didn't accept Medicare, but my paperwork would have to be sent to them after WLS - they would then automatically deny, then send to my dr.s office (wasn't covered at all last year) then my dr.s office would submit to my 2ndary BCBS - who does cover the sleeve - i was a good candidate because my BMI was 40, and i had diabetes, HB, sleep apnea so..............i had to have the WLS without being "officially" approved - without knowing for sure if i was covered i did feel pretty safe that i'd be covered so i proceeded to be sleeved 2 months PO, after all paperwork was sent here and there, I was approved by BCBS - WooHoo fast forward.... from DOS 12/15/11 weight 235, i'm down 90 lbs to 145 lbs WooHoo i look and feel great - been stalled past couple of months, trying to loose 10 more lbs so i can say i lost 100 lbs!!! wish medicare could have accepted me to begin with - but i'm glad they are joining the 21rst century and now working with the sleeve too for you NEWBIES - good things DO happen to those who wait. God Grant me Patience, Just Hurry About It
