    82Lbs Later

wanderlust good for you - running around, having plenty of energy, playing with the little kids now thats what i'm talking about 82 lbs down - you go girl
  3. funkeychiggen I didn't bring a robe or a nightgown to the hospital- you'll have an IV - IMO using their gown makes sense it was just easier to use their gown, when i walked, robe was sufficiently tied in back - so there were no accidental "peek a boo" besides, me, myself and I - only brought chapstick -wore comfortable sweats to hospital, made my tummy happy post WLS for me, no cell phone, lap top, ipod, book - et al i was in the hospital overnight, slept & walked most of time i see your WLS has come and gone - hope you are doing well, not too much discomfort, snoozing/sleeping - having pleasant dreams of health and happiness good luck speedy recovery
  4. suzqlvp aka NEWBIE i couldn't successfully drink Protein Shakes til week 2. "if" i remember correctly, i had them for a couple of weeks. any time in the future, its ok to drink a shake to get some protein in - couldn't hurt unfortunately, i never get in 80 g of protein in now - more like 50-60 you won't have to have 80g of protein daily, but............its great to have that much. i've heard tell that if you have more than 40 g of protein at a time, the extra protein doesn't count, too much protein??? - sleevers, did i say that correctly??? am i mistaken? protein will always be the first thing you should intake w/your meals, and get as much in daily as possible. nut told me to have so much protein, i asked her if "normal" people eat that way too, she said, yes they "should" for soft foods i ate eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese - laughing cow cheese, baby bel cheese, for example didn't hear of any problems you were having, so sounds like things are going well for - WooHoo continued good luck
  5. its that time of year again. ghosts and goblins, and candy junkies my neighborhood has plenty of kids - i have to buy lots of candy i searched high and low but................i finally found some candy i don't like. i bought these big bags of "smarties" and special type of lollipops. i am "safe" cuz i don't like them!!! i was wondering around the section of candies at Walmart - baby ruths, milk duds, clark bars, reeses Peanut Butter cups, snickers, tootsie pops, tootsie rolls kit kats, mounds, m&m's, mars bars, rollo's, hershey bars, and who can forget BUTTERFINGERS, (I know i can't!!) OH NO, all this candy talk i think i'm having an orgasm!!!

    Don't Want To Wait

skintowin what a bummer that you have to postpone WLS cuz of work sorry about that you'll be busy with work - don't torture yourself for the next 4 months by being angry and wishing you could have had the surgery, saying, "if it weren't for work....." nothing you can do about it even though sounds like you don't have a choice at work - you must be there - your employer might be appreciative towards you that you are willing to work when surgery was being planned - you postponing WLS for work - doesn't look bad on you take care good luck you will be sleeved thats the most important thing

    Non Food Rewards

woo hoo - great reward i am treating myself to getting my two front teeth capped
  12. free samples were in grocery store. they gave me a couple of slices of apple - they put carmel dip on it you should have seen me - my hand and apple were playing a tug of war with my mouth - the mouth won out otherwise, i don't keep any "bad" food in the house, chips stuff like that. the thing i really have to control is me eating a couple of extra Protein bars, cheese, i love these Protein Bars they are like "candy bars" - but not - and they satisfy my sweet tooth - and urge for chocolate - but on a rare occasion i "might" have too many too much of a good thing, is just that, too much - don't want those bad habits to come back - think i'm getting back in control

    Anyone Else Sick Of Leaning?

after my shower i have a plastic chair i would sit in front of the full length mirror to blow dry my hair, use curling Iron, i couldn't/wouldn't try and stand up doing this. i was uncomfortable. 92 lbs down, chair is now put away, and i stand in front of the medicine cabinet and do my hair, luv it. big accomplishment for me NSV? when DH and i went to grocery store, i would sit and wait in the car. various "leg/knee" reasons it was just easier. now, i go into the store while my DH closes his eyes in the car NSV not only am i walking better, i have built up my confidence that it doesn't bother me walking through the store amongst many others NSV

Staisea glad mom is going to have some help from someone who had WLS, knows whats going on - sounds like mom will continue to improve. as far as being a "taskmaster" don't we take over from what moms do when we were kids??? as far as you becoming a 1rst time grandmother - and mom becoming a great grandmother...when this situation happened to me 12 years ago, when i became a grandmother, my mom said, she didn't mind becoming a great-grandmother - she just couldn't get over that i was going to be a grandmother!!!!! (made her feel pretty old!!!) hope things continue to improve and go well for you and mom take care bye

Anyone Eating & Drinking At The Same Time?

neil the drinking rules are hard to follow, but important i never drink 1/2 hour before i eat don't drink with food don't drink 45 minutes after i eat can't tell you what to do - this is my world, and welcome to it, for life that being said, if i have a little Water right after a meal or during, on a rare rare occasion, i am only human - i doubt i'll die hmmmm, i don't think i will anyways
