    Mexico Safety

TaraBugz if we could loose the weight on our own and keep it off - there would be no need for the sleeve if you feel "this time" you can loose the weight and keep it off - great, no need for surgery but if you have continuously lost and gained, yoyoing all these past years - IMO the sleeve being used for assistance only, would be the way to go good luck w/your wise decision to continue and get the sleeve as planned on 11/17 speedy recovery

    Carb Question

Sweetie all NUTS give different responses to questions check w/NUT pre-op carbs??? Post Op - My NUT says no more than 40 carbs a day - I try and follow - sometimes i go over though. i have read other sleevers take in as little as 20 carbs but...........listen to YOUR NUT only - she is the one working directly with and for you. true also with your surgeon You are down 35 lbs - good for you good luck take care

    Post Op 8 Months On

dyoungy63 sorry you've been in a stall - i'm also curious how much weight you lost if you've lost a lot of weight, maybe your body is yelling "uncle" - be patient, take a breath, i'll let you start to loose weight again at my own steady- pace continue to do everything you can/know how to do successfully these past 8 months - you've done great i know you are looking into other options? not sure why your looking to try something else yet, don't give up on the sleeve - whats 8 months in a life time? you look like a very intelligent person, you know the sleeve works - whether its 8 months or 8 years, you have the sleeve as your best friend, threw thick and thin - it will always be at your side give the sleeve more time - drink, eat, Protein, exercise - you know whats involved....it should happen..... God Grant me Patience, just hurry up about it good luck my friend

    5 Weeks Post Op

leahandgracey hi, sorry your NUT was useless to you, tuned you out sometimes you gotta assert yourself - stand up on the desk screaming and waving to her "help, i am new to this and i need you to help me"!!! drinking cantelope and watermelon juice are liquids, great, but you need to drink water too. if you hate the taste how bout adding chrystal lite - many sleevers seem to like that your NUT is only allowing you to eat once a day? not sure i get that how about eating yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs - soft foods for now are hopefully ok - ask your NUT and maybe she'll listen you didn't mention the exercising - so i'm hoping you have temporarily put that on the back burner til you get your surgeons blessings. tips????drink all day long - protein shakes, crystal light, water, take one day at a time....slowly how many calories do you take in? you'll get more to eat gradually, more meals et al others can jump aboard this train too - i can't be the only one with all the answers good luck to you

    5 Weeks Post Op

leahandgracy hi there NEWBIE congrats on making it through these first few weeks with your new sleeve 30 lbs lighter - you go girl/guy first rule in the 2012-2013 " sleeve manual" is to always follow the words of wisdom of your surgeon & NUT - sleevers get dr. permission when he feels you can start back to exercising - its good to heed their advice. many dr.s let patients start exercising at 6 weeks, some later, some earlier, - IMO its best to listen to the guy with the degree - even though you know better!! maybe start slow with a little walking - don't think anyone would object to that eating food once a day - this is per your NUT??? not sure why that would be the case, but if those are her rules, you should go with em - or are you physically unable to eat more than once a day?do you vomit?can't keep food down? do you have success getting in 64 oz of liquid a day? good luck congrats on loosing 30 lbs see you in the gym "later"

    Stupid Candy!

jennrus yum yum - m&ms's its so hard to stay away from the trick or treat candy - i understand you being angry at yourself - its done and over with, don't do it again or 100 whips with a straw gummy bear!!?? it was really hard, but i finally found some large sized bags of candy that i don't like - i love all candy - but i bought those stupid wrapped dum dum lollipops - and rolled up something or other, i won't touch them can't stand the temptation of the "good" candy, babe ruth, snickers, all that i love hope you don't have to pay the consequences of your brief "ooops" - or maybe that ghost will come out to scare you saying no more candy!!!!

    No -One Responds!

Chicago1962, aliasmith I believe a couple of other sleevers mentioned they were I & 0 and all was well, no problems, but for me.......... theres no way i could/would have gone home a few hours after surgery. I was out of it, tired - my DH would have stayed/helped me at home, but i felt having nurses, staff around - dealing with IV's - was the better choice for me good luck with WLS speedy recovery
