    Changing Things Up

Sweetsusie wish i knew how far you were post WLS - no data on profile gonna try and clean my chrystal ball - you are still early PO, about 2 months??? whatever the time period since WLS.... if you are exercising - change order of things you are doing - do one thing instead of another, change your routine - helps sometimes - personally i don't exercise enough, have to work on that reducing calories to 600?? i think thats going a bit too low, but not sure where you are with your eating - i have heard people increase their calorie intake, and this could break a stall, i know, go figure drinking more Water never hurts!!!! btw - there are some people that might not say things in the best way, not aware that they are being alittle insensitive they just might not know better............ like you said, this IS a support group, and if you fall, we'll pick you up as you loose more weight, then we can pick you up easier good luck my friend with breaking your stall sooner than later!!!!!

    Scared Im Done Losing

kmbrlycool back to you and your initial comment glad you wrote, always good to "vent", show concern that you haven't lost weight in a bit. you know its a stall, but come here and scream, thats ok - my windows are shut, but you are coming in loud and clear!! hope you are sufficiently proud of yourself for being down those 130 lb - i am sure that makes such a difference going into your new life - walking towards the light {CORNY } oh well!!! gettingMeBack - hang in there - you might have slowed down a bit, but thats ok. you know, didn't put it on overnight.........will take a little time getting to your final results\ result for all of loosers - we're big "winners" no matter what you've lost kmbrlycool, gettingMeBack - doing great!!!! all of us are - don't be sad about what you haven't lost yet, be happy for what you have lost - glass full/or half empty, all the way you look at it i guess all of us - do our best, and get healthier and happier - thats our goal

    Wait Time For Intimacy

LionHeart I'm sorry i have to be the one to tell you this, but the dr.s office asked me to respond to your post he said - just for you.......... no sex for one year after WLS - or until fish fly or did he mean til fish swim always get those 2 confused!! ask your dr. - hmmmm - remember you just had major surgery on your tummy - i say go for it when you feel you are well enough!!!! not too many fancy tricks for awhile though have a good night

    Post Op Gastric Sleeve

Marie sorry chic - no exact time period for everyone - also take into account what kind of job you have, whether its an office job - heavy lifting - factory - standing all day not to mention that "maybe" your surgeon "insists" you stay home a certain time period per his orders we all react differently to WLS (or any surgery) some people go back to work quickly, a few days, or a week after WLS - they might be a bit tired - but they feel they can go back to work others might start off working 1/2 day's the first week some people are more tired/weak - need more time to recuperate looks like you are pre-sleeve???? your body will tell you when "its" feeling ok, to go back to work, don't rush it! too early for marathon races how did you like my "definite" non-committal answer - sorry bud  good luck much success with WLS speedy recovery you'll love the long venture to health and happiness for the rest of your longer life speedy recovery

    Scared Im Done Losing

kmbrlycool you started at 370 lbs??? when you have a little more weight to loose - the weight often comes off quicker at the beginning same reasoning - when you have 30, 20, 10 etc lbs left to loose, it might take a longer time to get rid of that weight you've lost 130 lb!!!! in 7 months WooHoo your body is taking a "time out" with this nasty stall but the good news IMO you are most definitely not at the end of the rope with your weight loss you've worked really hard these past months, weight never comes off "easy" - but i "see" 130 lbs less of you your body may be saying - ok i need a break, we'll continue this process though, i need to catch my breath whats a month stall in a future lifetime of being a normal weight - healthy, all that good stuff hmmmm, maybe thats what we sleevers need to remember and concentrate on i wanted the weight off immediately - doesn't work that way anyone, NEWBIES et al - we should know by now - weight will come off differently for all of us - stalls along our voyage - but we'll eventually loose the weight you will continue to loose - check your measurements, how your clothes are fitting - that could tell another good story i lost about 85 lbs around 7 months (now i'm 11 months PO) been working on getting last 15 lbs ever since. down 12 more lbs after a long stall - 3lbs til goal, might take another few weeks -but i'll wait am i sad, am i upset???? damn straight i am, but patience right??? God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It good luck my friend

    Family Time

hi chad sounds like things are on an upscale at home??? hope things work out, must be hard for the kids too. but............emotions can be rough - you can't give in to any "bad" thoughts, and over eat a little - you are at a tough time with your sleeve your still getting used to each other - and you are being successful.....don't give in to the devil excess food family is very important to you - i do hope things work out well - so you are all together again but don't let that fridge call you - you are doing great!!!! just over a month PO - 42 lbs down WooHoo the family will probably be happy to "see" less of you!!!!! get it, less of you so silly!!!! take care

    Diabetes

, carbgrl hey girlfriend, what were you thinking???? not being a dr of course, your comment about having trouble digesting/dealing with that sugar in a small stomach - "sounds" like a good thought to me the bad news - you realize that you shouldn't have so much sugar, the good news is that you realize you shouldn't have so much sugar knowing the problem is 1/2 the battle - now you can deal with your answer i doubt very much you now have diabetes it works the other way around usually - i was diabetic/insulin past 20 years - post WLS and a short bit of time, no more diabetes - reason this happens to many diabetics, is we have changed our eating, eat less, then weigh less in the past my PCP always said if i would loose "a little weight" that would help my diabetes - never did we all need to stay away from excess sugar i think your tummy was yelling at you - i wondered what that noise was going back to basics, to "make yourself feel better, get back on track" - is never a bad idea look at your weight loss - you go girl if they could see you now....... love to sing - good you don't have to listen take care

    How Do You Add Friends?

tjohnstonNEWBIES - adding a friend 101 - benefits of friends??? we all need friends!!! go to a persons profile - i.e. JayhawkFan777 from "above" click on "my profile" it will bring you to her info - her profile - then click above "add friend" - simple!!!! add a message is also marked there, you can write a note to someone, but remember - not allowed to pass notes during class glad your family/friends are supportive - but there is no way they can truely understand whats going on with you - post here for questions, help - we've all been where you are - except if you haven't yet you are NOT alone good luck with pending WLS speedy recovery see you on the boards DOS 12/15/11 235 lbs 11/11/12 138.1 lbs don't mean to "throw" my weight around 2.9 lbs til goal and century club who would have thought???? WooHoo

    Blood Pressure Drop Nsv!

Cinders big kudos/congrats on leaving high blood pressure behind 40 lbs gone too WooHoo i was on 2 HB meds - don't remember the names PCP took me off one med first, kept the other for a bit.....basically he "weaned" me off the med, no side effects I'm not sure but..................... when your dr took you off BP meds -meds did get out of your system quickly enough but your body might take a bit of time to adjust to the new you, minus BP meds? i think.. maybe if your dizziness continues - make an appt with PCP - couldn't hurt take care feel better

    Increasing Carbs

SkinnyMinnie2B with your saying you had 20 g of protein and 60 g of carbs - oh no I think you had a brain fart this is possibly a new side effect from WLS that research hasn't shown yet trying to be serious now.... 5 1/2 weeks PO 60 g protein not enough carbs????? at this early point, i wouldn't worry about "lack" of carbs you need carbs to live/energy and stuff don't think i've heard of anyone complaining/ questioning too few carbs? you want more carbs- add a Protein Bar - they have 22g - chocked full of protein too
  24. MzSmurf discussions on the board why friends/family discourage others from having WLS - being jealous they are going to be loosing their "fat" eating/dinner friend - or genuinly concerned about your health etc sorry about reactions you received - i do think they "were" your friends, but.............they didn't handle your news well, fill in the blanks on there thoughts I didn't tell anyone pre-op about my surgery (except long talks w/DH) I didn't want to hear any possible negative conversations concering the WLS, I already had made up my mind on the sleevef PO i told my family and they were very happy and excited for me i was always the "heavy"overweight black sheep" - so they were in my corner about loosing weight Many people say one factor of wanting to loose their weight is for our children. "friends" who say, oh no, what would happen to these kids if during surgery this or that happened??? people can be so stupid and insensitive Being obese is so unhealthy - we all know that - all our co-morbidities - the kids see you dealing w/these problems Losing this excess weight only makes life better for you, kids, family and friends NEWBIES prior to WLS - don't scream it from the roof tops that you are having WLS people might "pat" you on the back saying how happy they are for you, others might have different reactions that you don't need to hear choose people after the fact that you want to tell about your new pending life-when WLS is done and over with, friends who tried to discourage you before, will realize its too late now - so they will either support you - or hopefully keep their mouths shut hmmmm - WLS couple of days after Thanksgiving - either have that extra slice of pie if you are pre-op - i would leave the country, getting as far away from the pie as possible (umm cherry is my favorite) good luck w/surgery speedy recovery

    Real Reviews?

coolmamma73 there was a thread back when - i think a sleever had a bad outcome - "all of a sudden" people that worked in the office - "pretended" they were "real people" complimentating the dr. - responding to negative comments and stuff like that possibly we're referring to the same thread that being said - i "think" its safe to say that this doesn't usually happen - maybe this was the only case????? Now....... as far as being "real " people??? I don't know????? For years and years as a kid and adult, i've tried unsuccessfully to loose and keep my excess weight off 11 months post WLS, i have lost 93 lbs - 7 more til goal - and the elite Century Club with my new health, happiness and lifestyle i won't regain my lost weight, have gone through too much to get to where i am above statement couldn't be "real"??? butttt......its me, and i'm real!!!!!!
