Pelekania If someone asked me "did i/you have WLS???" and i answered "no I did not", that WOULD be a lie - but it still is up to,person what to say ( we are all in agreement about that) No one ever asked me the "did you have WLS" i received the "what diet did you use, did you exercise," stuff like that if that person/aquaintance , friend of yours- is a little shy/ uncomftable to tell their story, and they only tell you "Water aerobics" they are stating one of their exercises that have helped her, IMO its fine that she said that my friends, family - i shared "details" of WLS, my excitement, new found health and happiness they were thrilled not wanting to go into big discussion with every tom, frank and harry, or sue, beth and ellen??? i would say the standby andswer of proper eating et al to others thats it PS i just came back to edit, and where i had referrenced the names, Tom and Harry, and the name that "rhymes" with bic - they "censored" it - putting D***K - OMG do we have "sleeve police watching our every move? LOL

Really Having A Hard Time......
ProudGrammy replied to jaxlaceylace's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
jaxlacelace sorry you are aren't receiving support from home WLS in 9 days, "try" not to let family/friends get the better of you. i'm sure that must be difficult prior to WLS people do have all sorts of emotions, scared of surgery - its unfortunate that friends/family can't be there for you "unfortunately" you are not alone in your situation many people post here in the position you are, that probably doesn't help you though "if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem" - Dr. Phil try not to feel depressed, sounds lame saying - but i'm just trying to cheer you on, this is YOUR new life that , i know you are excited about - you worked hard to get started...don't let others bring you down - you know whats best for you - concentrate on the WLS coming up soon being sleeved , your health will start to improve - co-morbities will improve or disappear, you know all this i can see it in you eyes you are a very strong determined lady - who will get through these next couple of weeks - then start your new improved life down 50 lbs pre-op congrats WooHoo stressed out,?? hard situation you are in - but don't let anyone get the better of you - keep going through your liquid diet - you'll do fine maybeoneday85 put it well "stay positive and stay strong" come here to ask questions, post or just "look around" and "take it all in" see you around the Water cooler take care bud good luck speedy recovery -
Apprehensive . . . Sorry, Long And Rambling
ProudGrammy replied to Cholula's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cholula 255 to 194 congrats great weight loss WooHoo the comment "but that long term thing hangs in my mind" - "mind is spinning out of control"? many, most of us sleevers, have repeatedly gained, lost, gained weight prior to WLS.... "we've" tried so many times to keep the weight off - but the "devil" keeps winning if it were easy to lose the weight and then keep it off - great its so hard to keep the weight off, we try and try, its ok to finally say "UNCLE" you've done great losing your weight - that shows such will power (i call it won't power - i won't eat this, i won't eat that ) shows how committed you are, and you are ready to turn your life around with the sleeve helping you with eating better, healthier - allowing you to keep your weight off "forever" and long as you follow the "rules" you made the wise decision to have the sleeve, you went through alot of preparation, - you are so close, 2 days away from one of the most important events of your life please don't 2nd guess yourself now ok???? good luck with WLS speedy recovery -
your enthusiasm, excitement towards WLS is wonderful - being all prepared, mentally and physically - all your liquids in order!!!!! kudos for your preparation & drive - congrats/good luck - happy turkey day

cokie216 upstate ny shout out [syracuse] have a great day

coki216NORMALl???? Here on the sleeve board?? NORMAL???? Us??? LOL the one thing the same/normal - is that we're all different, physically and mentally congrats on making it through week one i hope you are continueing with a good recovery, and WLS went smoothly post surgery - normal - tired, gas, little vomitting mentally - you are adjusting/ realizing that you have made a life time committment to better your health and happiness you follow the rules in the sleeve 101 handbook and you'll do great "normal" to have many ups and downs - roads get bumpy - but we're all survivors stalls are probably the most common bond we share - but they will leave, sometimes have to be more patient than othertimes God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It scale is different for all - some people lose faster than others, but thats ok - its not a race - this is the rest of our lives if it takes you one month or one year longer to lose weight than someone else.....whats one year in the rest of your upcoming healthier life don't compare your weight loss, the time it takes to lose weight to anyone else, how much weight you lose at a time the scale can be the devil - try not to be a slave to it by weighing yourself constantly, daily etc. weigh once a week, not more often come here for "pearls" of wisdom advise, but.... medically speaking - always listen to your NUT and surgeon welcome to the wonderful world of the sleeve best of luck NEWBIE hope this helped a bit always happy to show off my new stats - i worked hard for them DOS 12/15/11 235 lb 11 months later 11/20/12 137 .9 lbs 97.1 lbs gone forever 2.9 lbs til goal - century club congratulations on the best decision of your life - having WLS good luck newbie

How Much Can You Eat A Couple Years Out
ProudGrammy replied to Bryan Whitson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey newbie hmmmm - after goal you would like to have regular portions - 2,000 - 2,500 calories a day ??? ahhhh, two slices of pizza??? course not as as a regular deal, but you are curious, kindof testing the Water??? hmmm guy - you know what they say about curiousity well dude - no expert here, not a dr, but............. i am allowed to eat 2/3 cup volume of food per meal - 900-1000 calories total a day - for me its usually hovering right in the middle I'll hopefully be at goal sooner than later small portion sizes fills me up - my tummy tells me IF i pushed the envelope too far and ate too much loved what my surgeon told me when i became post op - he said "eat until you're full, then stop two bites earlier!!" i'm 11 months PO and have done pretty well -my "regular" portions are small amounts of food/protein - chicken, fish et al that will sustain my new, but wonderful healthy lifestyle your new stomach - or lack of - will be 85% smaller than it is now - you'll eventually be able to eat anything - in very very small portions, little bites, chew thoroughly, take your time eating, all that good stuff - rules that go along with the sleeve - many different rules with water don't drink 15-30 minutes before you eat - don't drink with your meals - don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat you probably know all this - sorry just babbling on as far as the soda is concerned, diet or not - there have been "discussions" here on drinking soda - my NUT told me to always stay away from soda due to the carbonation all NUTS are different though, another comment that will vary - straws not allowed - some NUTS say their ok, my NUT said no i listen to what my NUT tells me, she hasn't steered me wrong so far if she says "jump" i'll say "how high" noooo, but she knows what she's talking about gulping water - that all depends - you have to take the drinking slow at first - you don't know how you'll react to liquids post op - hopefully you won't have problems - but many people have to take small sips for awhile as with everything else related to food/drink/vitamins / even the scale- your NUT is the one to advise/help you i was lucky with my water intake - my drinking was going well from a pretty early point, I started to increase the sips of water - NUT said "yeah if i was ok with gulping, no problem, gulp away" - but theres no set rule for all we're all different - you shouldn't compare yourself to the guy next door/with his weight loss, how long it took him to lose - if he's able to gulp/guzzle or other stuff kindof jumping around your post, heres my direct answer - works for me an others, but not all i don't think i can or would ever want to eat 2 slices of yummy pizza and a coke - that was my past - can't go there again someone else will hopefully chime in with a more concise answer kindof addressed a bunch of stuff you didn't ask about - ooooops - diarrhea of the mouth acting up, - no meds for that getting punching cuz its 2:09 am - why am i up!!!! good luck with pending surgery speedy recover post WLS - good luck with that too -
