Eating out - What to say to waiters/others
ProudGrammy replied to Teri Barowsky Hooper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Teri Barowsky Hooper after i order - i always ask for a "carry out container" to be given to me at same time as i get my food. when i get meal i immediately put the large portion away - usually will last 2-3 more meals. since food is put away - i don't give waiter the chance to ask any "nosey" questions. "If" he does, i just tell him everything was fine. if you do go out with a friend and really don't want to order anything, (Soup or something else light) thats ok - but - i would leave an extra tip. take care good luck happy new year -
Complete failure
ProudGrammy replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hun, you've come this far, you've done great repeating good advice from above pretend you are a brand new sleever, and go from there. Protein shakes, Water, soft food etc. find a support group- supportive people (family, friends) talk to your NUT/surgeon, tell them whats going on you know what to do, you know proper small portions, put only that amount on plate - no more - then you can't test yourself to eat more than you should(no, no, no on 2nd helpings) try these two exercises push yourself away from the table - push, push, push, your arms will get stronger when food is towards mouth, pull arm/hand backwards - repeat - keep pulling on hand away from your mouth - hard to do, but important i do understand about you being "nervous, scared" - you've worked too hard to mess up now overweight all your life?? - thats all you are are used to - don't sabotage yourself now - please don't!! immediately"'get yourself together", don't wait til tomorrow, and you will be off to a great new year, and you will be so much healthier and happier i have confidence in you- you can, need and will do this!!! good luck -
My stomach is finally smaller than my boobs
ProudGrammy replied to mrs sandy r's topic in The Gals' Room
Mrs. Sandy I sure do know what you mean - my stomach was totally "sticking" out, and my small boobs - well it was awful/ridiculous i didn't realize this was going on, then one day it was like, OMG, theres a good amount of space between boods and tummy, what happened happy new year -
mzrich man oh man, dealing with normal pain post WLS - not getting much physical help/support - problems with mom, you need this like a hole in the head walking will help you feel better, solve gas problems if you have- don't push it though - go at your own pace maybe mom will let up as she sees you walking a bit - but if you are too tired don't push yourself, no matter what mom says !!!! is mom helping at your house/apt - or are you at her place?? if you are there - maybe just go home if she's only giving you grief if she is local - can you "NICELY" say to her something like - "i think it would be better for both of us, if i continued to recup on my own" what do you think, can you stand up to her like that???? sending sympathy your way good luck speedy recovery

scrambled egg, yogurt, cottage cheese hope your recovery is improving take care good luck

Lisathe above salad is delicious - i have had it 3-4 times - vinergette dressing, i think its healthy and a good alternative in a pinch i've never had Wendy's chili but i've heard its good, and a safe choice Snacks such as Protein bars, yogurt, tuna (i buy the one already mixed up in a small pkg) yes its got mayo added it, but i think its still ok on an occassion i'd be remiss not to say - you are starting a new life - doing many new things - new habits - so try harder not to forget to bring your lunch - is it ok that i said that?? but we can't always be perfect not even me good luck

Joy0124 during your early stage of the sleeve (drinking, purees', mush) - many sleevers don't have that "full" feeling. people usually start to feel that "full" "restriction once they start full solids not sure what you are eating at barely 2 weeks?? you can NEVER drink too much. - the more you drink the better good luck

NDN_RN you know that having less ski can effect your reaction to temperatures - whether hot or cold. It obviously is more severe for you i also was never cold, due to my "extra" skin - new world now - just wear a sweater, and i'm happy i'm anxious to see how i will react to my first summer at goal - always was so excessively hot - with less skin now, hopefully i will reap the benefits IMO i would rather suffer a bit with a cold than be "heavy" bundle up, hopefully you will not keep getting sick keep warm thoughts, and then cool for the summer good luck to you happy new year

"No worries Shrinkydink! I lost NOTHING the first week. 16 pounds in 18 days is amazing! You're probably still swollen, retaining Water, about to start your cycle, who knows! Your body just may be holding on to the pounds right now" ___________________________________________ hi ShrinkyDinkMe22 good words of wisdom from Nicolanz weight will come off - 2 lbs up, i get it, you have every right to be bummed - but you'll get rid of that nasty weight as quickly as it came on early in the game - 2 week stall + ?? will get better soon - promise, would i lie to you?? you'll find yourself to be a "big loser" in the new year!! spirits up good luck -
Have Any Of You Eaten Solid Food Before You Were Supposed To?
ProudGrammy replied to ginajet77's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
ginajet77 you have a brand new tummy that you must respect not adviseable to "test" the waters you ate something post surgery while on liquid diet. you were "successful" eating, nothing happened but you shouldn't do this  you chose to have major surgery with the sleeve, new life with the sleeve - please follow the "rules" with drinking, Protein, and eventually eating solids correctly- proper portions et al don't get ahead of yourself with different stages, drink, eat, properly per NUT proper stages per dr/NUT-you can do this this is the way you will be successful sleever, losing your necessary weight, getting healthy for the rest of your life (hope i didn't lecture too much only trying to help a NEWBIE still friends?? good luck happy new year -

Tad Welcome 160 lbs down - 25 lbs til goal - congrats on your amazing weight loss many people who had the lapband gained weight back - glad that didn't happen to you - you will be so happy with your sleeve you will hear wonderful stories from sleevers - "maybe" a couple of valid "problems" from others - but you know risks that come with any surgeries IMO - good, good & more good is the only word to be associated with the sleeve i'm continueing to enjoy my new life with the sleeve - losing diabetes/insulin-high blood pressure meds, sleep apnea et al one year surgiversary - joining century club, - and GOAL!!! you will love your sleeve!! you know how to deal with the eating, drinking et al - so your conversion should be a piece of cake your new sleeve will help you lose your final weight, then lead to continued success in your future best of luck happy new year -
