    First date is tonight!

MiniMo WooHoo - down 95 lbs starting with pre-op - terrific - betcha you look great kudos on going online and checking your good choice to eat from the menu knowing and talking to this guy for a couple of weeks - IMO i wouldn't mention the WLS yet - if he brings your weight up - thats a dilema we all face you have choices - you can say "I'm on a diet,? trying to lose weight, I'm exercising eating less - you could leave it at one of the above should i or shouldn't i mention surgery??? your choice kiddo if this was me - knowing someone for 2 weeks i wouldn't mention the surgery don't assume that because you chose not to eat much he will think you are "trying to look skinny" ??? he asked YOU out - so he obviously wants to be with you - he likes what he sees still "plus size"?? aren't we all for awhile during this weight loss process but thats ok, because we are working hard, eating small portions and doing great one day at a time have a great time - try not to be toooooo nervous - easier said than done keep doing what you are doing - its obviously working congrats take care

    9 months out

Muffin18 congrats on having your baby - ooooops i mean being 9 months PO!! i wish i could see your ticker or profile then i would know exactly how much weight you've lost??? do you have a lot more weight you want/need to lose - you say you are doing great - so, good enough!!! stalls, we all know what a bummer they can be - sure you can up the exercise, drinking, calories even - but IMO - the stall might just take its course one more you'll step on that evil scale and be down 75 lbs hmmmm, i don't think so but its a thought My NUT (at my 9 month check-op) said i should keep my daily calories between 900-1000 calories - i was at goal. the truth is i usually do 1000-1200 calories a day, i told her so. - and i'm doing great BUT - we/you know all NUTS have different thoughts i am surprised/confused that your NUT didn't specify a certain #?? good luck bud

How I keep from over eating!

UndercoverBariatricGal gmanbat -good quote from another quote "full feeling" after we eat is the effect that stretching has on the stomach.muscle and being muscle it has a limited expanding capacity. Over time the stomach will stretch some, but never get back to pre-surgery size.

    Binge Eaters slow loser?

ArtSong 40 lbs in 15 weeks (AKA not quite 4 months!!) you are right on target, you are doing great you said you feel like you eat more now than you did before you were sleeved?? never understand statements like that (you are not the only one that says that) if at this point your NUT has you at 1/3 cup - then thats all you should put on your small plate. don't put more on the plate, then you won't know you can eat more - knock it off i was also a binge eater. ended up not eating til late in the day like you - then just kept eating- or sometimes i would graze all day  these are the awful habits that i dealt with, and maybe sometimes want to and DO graze on a rare occassion no one is perfect to answer your question about binge eaters being slower in their weight loss??? my answer is no - that didn't happen to me 13 months PO - down 103 lbs GOAL - lost most by 10 months like i said - i think your weight loss is great - you are not a slow loser IMO watch the portions - don't put a larger amount on your plate - then you won't be testing yourself good luck bud congrats on 40 lbs WooHoo

  12. ProudGrammy

How I keep from over eating!

hun great thought on the storage containers but you almost 99.999% can never stretch your sleeve. - its almost impossible to stretch your sleeve. this is a frequent discussion i'm hoping another sleever can jump in with a proper explanation (sorry i'm not good at this explanation ) again, good doing on the storage containers - great idea keep up the good work

OMG Did I just screw everything up?

mysunflower OMG sorry for getting mixed signals from dr. i understand that must sound awful telling you one minute tests came back negative - then telling it takes a while for a problem to show up in my LAYMAN opinion, taking 5-6 motrin/aspirin over 8 weeks - "hopefully" didn't cause any damage. she should have given you better instructions on what to take or not to take i hope your pain goes away i'm sorry this happened - try and be patient (i know thats hard) to hear all your results i will be hopeful that all is ok DON'T dwell/think about this 24/7 - you can't "IF" something happened (which i don't think) things can always be fixed again as i LAYMAN i really don't think you messed up your sleeved take care, anxious to hear how things turn out good luck keep following your program
  16. ProudGrammy

    A big accomplishment for me!

moviemomo05 i'm so sorry "things have not gone well for me" you are not able to keep food down???vomitting, tired et al - whats the problem, whats going on??? no such thing as a "small" accomplishment - any new accomplishment is GREAT big kudos on getting more protein in - that can be hard to do for the record....there no such thing as i "only' lost 1 lb or 2 lbs (many people use that expression) losing any weight is HUGE!!! never belittle any accomplishment or weight loss - its success, and we all want that congrats keep up the good work
  17. ProudGrammy

    I hate this surgery.

Mason, as always, well put!!! AussieLady - I'm going to "try" and give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't realize your words might be interprettated harshly - unfortunately thats how they were received Alley-Gator is scared, upset about the WLS - regrets WLS like many OP do at first IMO she is looking/asking for a little reassurance/help that this surgery wasn't done in vain most people here are responding with positive thoughts - encouragement thats what we're here for, to answer some questions, but to support each other Alley-Gator (and anyone else) - please don't let the words of a select few - keep you away from the board, we want and need you this board is invaluable - especially for NEWBIES hope your feelings do sway more in favor of the WLS As everyone says - it will get better we're all trying to tell you that the WLS is terrific you made the wise decision to be sleeved - don't second guess yourself, ok we 'all" hope you come back to the board, and you will feel better/more optimistic about your sleeve take care bud good luck

    6 month hunger

Fiddleman you've done amazing - now in onederland - you must feel so much healthier and happier, and thinner!!! sorry you are having a couple of problems now, feeling a little hungry a couple of hours after you eat sometimes. i know this isn't the best response to your response but......... i'm 13 months PO - goal - i sometimes get head hunger too as *weird as it sounds - i just "yell" at myself reminding me of my heaviest weight, how i can never afford to go back to that weight i have too much going on with the plusses with my life, health, and self-confidence, just plain happiness no more diabetes/insulin meds - high blood pressure meds - no more CPAP - and my knees are feeling good too "yell" at myself, talk to myself, convincing myself to stand up straight and stay on plan - might sound silly, easier said than done - working for me now, and hopefully always i also know i'm a newbie as far as being at goal - just 13 months po...but you gotta start somewhere - i plan and will stay on plan, and proper weight good luck to ME YOU and ALL!!! DOS 12/15/11 235 lbs 5'3 1/10/13 131 lbs GOAL still 5'3

    Lost

SyRose glad you have spoken with a NUT - but, IMO i would definitely seek another NUT - sounds like the help you've been receiving has been pretty vague - not helpful at all i would definitely get a new NUT - and keep coming back here for good advice good luck things will turn out congrats on weight loss btw - i hope you can open the manuel, it will be helpful
  21. ProudGrammy

    Lost

SyrRose Welcome to the board, the more the merrier congrats on your weight loss glad you got info/food info for the first month I could be mistaken its sound like you don't have a NUT??? the link/ manuel that JerseyGirl you too will be extremely helpful can you find a support group around you?? people that have had WLS it doesn't have to be the sleeve, someone that had surgery and knows the eating and drinking process - it could be helpful to meeting/speaking to others like you do you know the Water rules? don't drink for 30 minutes before you eat - do not drink with meals, do not drink after you eat for at least 45 minutes drink at least 64 oz of water daily chew thorougly, slowly these are the most basic rules, if you have a NUT listen to her specific directions where were you sleeved??? Mexico?? where do you live?? curious i hope you do have a NUT - or get some more info now that you have some guidelines from the manuel, read, absorb, and come back for anymore questions. we aim to please take care and good luck

    WOULD U DO IT AGAIN?

chicha2012 i see now that you are still in the deciding period most everyone on this board will continue to tell you how wonderful and life saving the WLS has been. most just regret not having been sleeved earlier if you've tried to lose weight many times only to regain the weight, if you have medical problems like diabetes et al if you want to feel medically and mentally healthier, be able to run with the kids, or grand-kids, or just be able to run for yourself - IMO the sleeve is the way to go big decision to be sleeved or not - must get mentally prepared for all the hard work that you would be starting - the weight will come off with the assistance of the sleeve - but this is not an overnight quick weight fix as they say all good things come to those who wait best of luck on coming to the wise decision of being sleeved btw you might hear some unfortunate stories about people that had bad outcomes with surgery, but all surgeries have risks most people here are biased, we love our sleeve!!! good luck
  23. ProudGrammy

    WOULD U DO IT AGAIN?

chiccha2012 you are still probably a virgin sleever???? some people do have problems here or there with WLS - i was lucky - i had a great surgery, recovery, and now, still, and always plan on feeling great thats not saying everything came easily, successfully over night all of the Water situation at first was a little "trying" - getting all my Protein, maybe other stuff, can't remember, so obviously it couldn't have been too bad DOS 12/15/11 235 lbs 5'3 1/10/13 131 lbs GOAL still 5'3 no regrets here, would do WLS again before you could say "I love my sleeve " good luck
