bubles089 from the replies you are getting, apparently there are people with your feelings about not liking all the attention concerning you weight loss - and thats fine, those are your thoughts I know all those years past i would get plenty of attention - bad attention - concerning my being overweight now i am down 100 lbs - GOAL do i feel embarrassed, shy, quiet et al when people come up to me complimenting about my appearance and weight loss???? No way!!!! i feel great!! Can't get enough of those great comments sooooo, anyone that receives unwanted compliments about their appearance..... send them over to me congrats on loosing 68 lbs - thats terrific continued good luck with your weight loss btw you look marrrrrvelous -
Please don't laugh at me....
ProudGrammy replied to BuffaloCarol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Carol Giggle at you??? Naw, you are only 3 weeks to the board - we don't laugh at NEWBIES til they are 3.5weeks As far as gas is concerned - many people "from above" such as DanaMomto3, Melissa130, and moregoodtimes and most importantly "ME", never had to deal with the gas "situation" sometimes i think too much time is spent by all, worrying about what "may" happen, whether it be gas or something else take it as "it" comes follow all the rules and do your best certain things like gas (and maybe other stuff, there is nothing you can do to change the fact - whats gonna happen - happens take care good luck tomorrow with WLS speedy recovery -
hey bud i am grinning ear to ear, so happy that YOU are happy how wonderful, - goal!!!! greatest 4 letter word!!!! on your way to the gym now???? show off!!!! you are too good!!!! keep up the terrific work you are a great success story WooHoo!!!!!

Just curious about waiting time from eating to drinking
ProudGrammy replied to fonally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
fonally I have NEVER understood why one dr/NUT will give different guide lines - than another doc/NUT many/most?? times the "words of wisdom are very similar - sometimes i'll read something here that one dr says and i think "what the heck???" i wish there was ONE "rule book" - all docs used - and all sleevers follow to the "T" it would be easier, then we could all relate to each other better, since we all follow the exact same rules my NUT told me to stop drinking 1/2 hr before i will eat (for me though, sometimes i will drink - and then in 15 minutes eat i don't ever drink with my meals then after i eat - i DO wait at least 30 minutes before i drink - sometimes 45 minutes fonally et al DOS??? weight?? one of my major pet peeves are when people don't post ticker or profile make an 'old gal' happy today post your ticker and profile, please (I/we're nosey ) inquiring minds want to know thanx -
i just started to do volunteer work at our local hospital i totally have "put" myself "out there", amongst REAL people would never have been confident/brave enough to do this before i lost all my weight I am so happy since WLS waiting for the "new" next event to happen!!! today, volunteering - tomorrow......... life is good

I am seriously struggling
ProudGrammy replied to apelt001's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
apelt001 i get it that you are struggling with liquids we've all been there, done that other sleever "up above" have given good suggestions on different shakes to help make the constant liquid possibly taste better you just gotta grin and bear it, hang in there (I know easier said than done) you have to be kind to your tummy, thats the reason for Clear Liquids, then slowly "upping" your eating to full liquids, then pureed, soft, and 'regular solids" it does take a bit to get to the "end of the rainbow", but it will happen "God grant me patience, just hurry up about it " good luck continued healthy speedy recovery -

ProudGrammy replied to ladyofdamage's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

lotti i didn't bring ANYTHING to the hospital (clean undies ) no book, phone - texting, posting??? are you kidding me?? I agree with Mutlover's first post i wore sweat pants to hospital - so when i left, i had something comfortable to wear around my new sore tummy i know many people here post on the board til the "very end" before WLS i can even visualize just before being put to sleep "jane doe" says to the doc, "oh wait, i gotta write one more thing on the board!!" sorry, not for me guys i slept most of the 2 nights i was there, tried to drink and walk - but mainly successful with sleeping have a lot of practice with closing my eyes and slee.......oh my, i think i just dozed off good luck with surgery speedy recovery -
I would love love love some popcorn...
ProudGrammy replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dana for years, prior to WLS of course DH would say to me - "i want some popcorn", lets go to the movies doc gave me "permission" to have popcorn a few months post op (sorry, don't remember when) now when DH and i go to the movies he will still have his GIGANTIC tub of BUTTERED popcorn!!!! (he knows he needs to loose about 75 lbs, but he doesn't have the will or the motivation ) i will get a plain SMALL popcorn (i luck out, not big on butter, NEVER butter on popcorn) i know movie popcorn is not the healthiest, and i know i COULD bring from home some better popcorn but..... i don't want to the "mental" aspect of having movie popcorn is great for me for home, i will buy a box of orville redonbocker small popcorn bags that have 100 calories , never have a problem with digestion i know, i know, too many carbs - but as a treat on an occasion - popcorn won't kill me!!! tomorrow going to movies - bruce willis die hard sequil woo hoo - popcorn city -

Cardio after lifting... should I take protein before cardio?
ProudGrammy replied to mikeross's topic in Fitness & Exercise
mikeross yes, i am pretty sure you are supposed to have protein/drink/bar?? after you do weights - "something" about maintaining/not loosing muscle mass??? probably not saying that correctly but the premise is there - important to eat/drink after weights cardio -i don't think its necessary to eat/drink protein after cardio just drink plenty of Water, during and after good for you on "moving ahead" doing your exercises, weights, cardio et al continued good luck -
