Off post op restrictions, scared to eat regular!
ProudGrammy replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TexasMiss it must be hard not having a NUT to help/advise you can/do you go to a support group - you can talk to people there even though you didn't have WLS in a state hospital - i think you could still call your local hospital, and ask them to refer you to a support group, times etc. worst they can say is no do you know the basic stages???liquids, mush, pureed, soft, solids??? drink Protein shakes protein is the most important part of the sleeve equation, chew very slowly to "shred", eat slowly, putting utensil down between bites - eat small small bites also don't drink for 15 minutes before you eat, NEVER drink with your meals, and don't drink after you eat for about 45 minutes - drink as much Water as possible always!!!!! at least 64 oz most importantly, never, never, ever - talk with your mouth full if i'm saying stuff you already know, ooooooops sorry otherwise - hoped info helped there IS a link to a "pamphlet"/book on the board - that gives many instructions, directions, foods to eat et al concerning the sleeve this should somehow be put on the board "frequently asked questions and answers"???? for all newbies and others to read very informative that being said............. i am so sorry but i don't have that link hope, hope that someone else can put the link of the board that would be great good luck -
Gastric sleeve stretched
ProudGrammy replied to tmesley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gastric sleeve stretched "they" say you can't stretch your sleeve my NUT and dr. say that - and it seems like "most" other people on the board say the same thing (per their doc/nut) when we had WLS "they" say the "stretchy" part of your stomach was removed -

ProudGrammy replied to kacy100plus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kacy Welcome to the board NEWBIE We've been expecting you!!! things will get better - you will loose weight your new tummy is so "teeny weeny" that the weight can't help but come off!!!! your tummy is now 85% smaller than it used to be - you will be eating far less food 5 lbs is great - some loose more, but some loose less weight, or i've heard some have even gained (IV, Water et al) you're not doing anything wrong, really good for you that you started doing a little walking you are only drinking - no bowel movement??? think about it - makes sense!!!! never compare your weight loss, time period to anyone elses stats one thing we all have in common is that "we're all different" you just need to be a little patient God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It!!! -

ProudGrammy replied to BigCraig's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
2 Years before VSG 600 lbs/ 1 year after VSG 360/ 240 lbs lost year one Craig how amazing are you?? "we" all love to see success stories like yours!!!! especially inspirational for the NEWBIES on the block that wonder "hmmm, can i really lose this weight??" keep up the great job, while we keep seeing less and less of you good luck -
Determined_Me sneaking in soft food???? if you had to "sneak" anything - some soft food, oh well its done and over with it could be a lot worse!!!!(chips, dips, Cookies et al ) that being said, eating fish, and a little broccoli??? people have been shot for less!!!! like Sassygirl06 said - we are all human and make mistakes - each and every one of us fess up you know i'm talking to YOU you do need to totally follow your NUT/dr. order to the "T" confession IS good for the sole - do you feel better now??? right now your tummy is still practically a virgin (kindof like being a little pregnant?? ) take care of your new tummy and "it" will take care of you you've lost 19 lbs thats great!!! no weight loss in a couple of days??? thats not a stall - little break maybe - you'll start losing again you will have stalls later - gotta deal with them then but now - put the fish back in the lake you'll be fine - keep up the good work and OP, OP - knock off the pickle jokes - their getting sour oh no, did i really say that??? do what your are doc says you'll be great!! good luck
-
miko losing all that body fat, weight!!!! thats "huge" you started 135 lbs overweight - so the initial weight loss went a little quicker - or put it the obvious other way, since you don't have that much to lose now - things are slowing up a bit sure, i tell tell you to up your Protein, or lower your calories, or maybe even raise your calories - get plenty of excercise - drink more Water but..........you know all this!!!! you've been so successful you will continue to do great keep up the good work congrats "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It!!!"
-
AceyKay you've lost 60 lbs???? WooHoo what sleeve of steele and MrsG said (and probably others to follow) when you look in the mirror - you don't see that difference that others see. ie DH sees the difference and i'm sure other people see too try on some clothes that didn't fit you before - or your present clothes - see how different they now look you will gradually see the difference - but don't look at yourself in the mirror all the time - "check" yourself out once a month keep up the good work congrats on all your success good luck today, tomorrow and always for the rest of your healthier, happier, longers life

Surgery April 25th! New to forum! Nervous/excited!
ProudGrammy replied to findjoy13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
findjoy13 losing 120 lbs is not too high of a goal if you look around the board - many, many people lose that amount of weight - or more, or much more you/me/us shouldn't EVER listen to other peoples opinion about "our" surgeries you are the one that will have the WLS - you and your dr know your goal weight, leave it at that start losing weight, if you need/want to lose 120 lbs - go for it - if it turns out you end up losing more, or less weight, thats YOUR business!!! I'm not going to tell you to say MYOB - because i think thats going overboard but you can "politely" say something like - "I'm not sure how much weight i want to lose, as time passes i'll see where i feel right to stop" - something like that!!! but the truth is, its none of their business - never let anyone intimidate you (not even me) good luck on your venture -
I feel screwed!
ProudGrammy replied to KatieOkieDokie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
KatieOkieDokie VENT???? thats why we are here silly venting is good for all - maybe even shed a few calories glad you have a DOS April 8th as others have said..... what an amazing job you have done - 62 lbs down on your own!!!!! drinking so much Water - will continue to help - 96 oz - OMG keep drinking the water - you have done so well with that - keep it up - you won't float away, promise you will flush the water and lbs away - its gonna happen - maybe you are just at a "natural" stall We've all been there, done that at one time or another you are so determined - working so hard - you were told you must lose 75 lbs!!!! you did it!!!!! i can tell you will be so successful because you are determined and you "follow" orders!???rules you know this is very hard for the rest of your longer, healthier, happier life i don't have a question in my mind that you will be so successful - I am so happy that you've done so well, and trust me you will lose that additional weight once you are sleeved - the sky is the limit!!!!! up up and away!!!!! keep up the terrific work WooHoo -
kimkai75 so happy to hear all went ahhhhhhh - yet another satisfied customer in the world of the sleeve sometimes the good stories get buried, lost amongst some bad stories most WLS go great few typical problems, gas et al but overall - G R E A T!!!! most part WooHoo for the sleeve the above has been a non-paid for advertisement by/from a happy sleever! good luck speedy recovery
-

MB1217 the one thing we all have in common is that we are all different - check with your dr/nut - some drnut says no coffee at ALL (OMG) others say 1 cup - others might say???? maybe decaf???? i can have one cup a day - lluv it do what ever your NUT tells you (regarding anything) good luck edit - John - too funny

Tenshi you had surgery about 3 weeks after me - congrats to both of us on our success I've heard, there are times when people ask a question, but they already kindof know the answer. you must do your best to stop grazing - people have been shot for less than that you want tough love, kick in the pants???? Pow - there you go!!!! i'm kindof a whimp - afraid to yell at anyone (except my DH sometimes ) hmmmm, there are "some" people that might not have a problem "beating you up" but i'm sure they realize you are in a "hard" place, and they won't yell too hard, just give you more constructive advice "nicely"!!!! its hard when you are in a stall, you've done so terrific, you are almost 1/2 way to goal!!!! don't sabatoge yourself try and stop eating during the day when you shouldn't!!!! so much easier said than done, but you have to!!!! you know that do you work out of the house?? if you do, must be hard around other people - you must be strong - during lunch - take your yogurt for a walk - or just sit outside with it - go on the wild side and have a baby bel cheese too you just MUST stay strong, and tell yourself, "remind" yourself what you are doing is for your future - your health, happiness et al you want to improve your life don't stay comfortable at your present weight, just because you've been there before - you want to change that #, thats one reason you are here, or did you forget???? when/if i graze (which we've all been there done that)i basically really get mad at myself - really upset, so angry at myself ok, getting upset at all of the above is fine for abit - then i move forward - only way to go!!! believe it or not - many times i will come here to the board - just seeing other fellow sleevers - reminding me of my situation, why I'm here. this helps me back on track, puts things in perspective - reminds me where i am, where i want to continue to be for the rest of my life I'm not looking for a pat on the head and a glass of Water to send me on my way telling me everything will be ok good luck bud stay strong even though you might THINK you don't want it here's that pat on the back - and a tall cool 20 oz bottle of water - and yes, everything will be ok, really

CBT WooHoo!!! happy dancing with you!!!!! keep up the terrific job - today, tomorrow and always way to go congrats
