20 pounds down at 4 weeks ? Why am I so darn disappointed
ProudGrammy replied to Kapu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kapu like others have said - you are doing great, really - would i lie to you??? common statement here.,,,,, Never ever, ever compare yourself to others people have been shot for less don't compare for example the amount you have lost in a certain time period - how much you have lost just be concerned about your own weight - don't listen or "look" at other peoples situations take your measurements - and "temporarily" put that scale away the more "strength" you have not to weigh yourself - the better!!!!! take care good luck continued success -
5 Day sleeve test diet a warning!
ProudGrammy replied to Paulholio's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Paul congrats on dropping 130 lbs!!!! how great are you?? sorry you had such a problem - glad things worked out none of us can tell you if you did any damage - i don't "think" you did?? but give your doc a call if you would feel better since you don't have a ticker or profile (hint, hint) i don't know if you have more weight to lose?? if you do have more weight to loose, more continued luck to you (even though it sounds like you don't need any "luck" ) take care congrats on your success today and in the future -

Richard Griffiths dies at age 65
ProudGrammy replied to Bvl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bvi thank you for posting this I agree its important to hear stories like this seeing someone else's problems, death - probably associated with obesity is good/but sad to have on our back burner of our head medical problems are our initial reasoning for have WLS i think "some/a few" people think WLS is a vanity surgery - but of course we know better the benefit of our new appearance is great though - but not primary reason for surgery now, with our success since WLS - we will be able to live that longer, healthier, happier life that we all deserve to all of us - continued good health with our weight loss - and through maintennance life IS good edit - Bvi if you haven't read this yet congrats on being newly sleeved and losing 33 lbs these past 3 weeks keep up the good job/work!!!!! -

wannalise i am so very sorry and confused at the same time for what you are dealing with i totally understand what you are dealing with, and i hope you and your neurologist get this figured out/get control, very, very soon we are "sisters" - when i turned 16, (43 years ago) i became aware of my epilepsy i have been "controlled" all these years - with a couple of exceptions due to medicine changes my NSV - after i had lost about 50 lbs - we realized that due to my extreme weight loss, i now needed LESS medicine (keppra & lametcal) unfortunately we found this out the hard way - when i had an "unexpected" side effect I became very "dilusional" after knee replacement surgery 3 months PO WLS had to stay in hospital 3 extra days til they could figure out and deal with the prob - getting the right dosage for me I now take 1/2 the dosage that i took before WLS - this is huge for me i hope you and your neurologist get this figured out very soon!!!!! losing 160 lbs - you have done amazing i wish the best for you take care my friend

What If? vila2924 hi there glad you haven't changed your mind about having WLS having the surgery is the best thing you could do for yourself (everyones favorite, but true cliche') don't 2nd guess yourself now be happy with your initial wise decision to be sleeved being scared, concerned, nervous - happens at one time or another to most/all of us but the bottom line is you have tried to loose this ball and chain around your neck for years "they" both keep coming back to haunt you, tighter and tighter "we" people just can't keep this blasted weight off - we have all tried and tried and tried some more, only to regain + if you/us continue with bad eating habits, gaining more and more weight, developing or worsening your co-morbities - what do you and yours do then????? we can't let the fear of the unknown rule our lives unknown??? how will i react to WLS - how will my recovery go??? will i have any complications????? gas, vomitting??? will i have problems PO eating, drinking et al????? if you continue your life as you are doing now ???? then what???? what if you cross the street tomorrow and get hit by a bus??? don't mean to scare you!!!! alittle pre-op nerves never hurt anyone - but gotta settle down about the "what ifffffffs" you made such a wise decision !!! when your kids understand "later" what their mom did to help herself and them - they will be soooo proud of their "mommy"!!!! if you really need to calm your nerves ... have a tall cool drink of Water silly!!!! good luck best wishes take care

Sleeved Twice - My Story
ProudGrammy replied to Canadasleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Canada how horrible good for you for "getting to the route of the problem" knowing something was up i don't/hope things like this happen often - but as you proved, anything can happen at least once repeating the WLS with the same surgeon, have WLS free this time - you were right, not to go there again BUT - i think "something" should be done about what happened to you!!!! you paid for surgery twice - due to doctors incompetence - NOT FAIR i am a very naiive person - i just don't know how stuff like this can happen, and the doc gets away with it!!!! i "think" have heard Dr. Pompa on the board??? he "probably/maybe/usually???might do a successful WLS but that doesn't help your situation i guess i am/was hinting about suiing - but you might just want to get on with your new life putting nightmares behind you - looking towards sweet dreams only starting with your new wonderful life - to be successful sleeve take care good luck -
UK Cathy LOVE that analogy ahhhhhhh, i can see you now walking along the beach, hand in hand with DH not "a care in the world" sun in your eyes I'm jealous!!!! you've done great!!!!! keep up the terrific work btw - try not to feel tooooo bad for us "poor" people in NY that are freezing with 12 degree temperatures and snow - don't give us another thought!!! brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Kendra i don't have any noodles around (wet or dry) since they are Pasta I am NOT gonna tell you what a silly thing you did or the fact that you had WLS to loose 142 lbs!!!! I am NOT gonna beat you silly aren't you glad i didn't say any of the above anybody that "knows" me knows that i couldn't say shi..t if i had my mouth full of it ha ha i'm fooling you adm. police - i said a "naughty" word and got away with it Kendra - you know you screwed up - no one needs to tell you that i'm sure NO one here will yell at you!!! that wouldn't be helpful, since you've already done the deed the future is today and tomorrow the truth is many/most of us had made similar/stupid mistakes - you are not the first and you won't be the last!! you learned the hard way not to make this mistake again 85 lbs down the toilet, FLUSH congrats!!! keep doing what you are doing - except the crueller best wishes good luck -
EYE CANDY I've told you 1,000 times not to exaggerate!!! popsicles are classified as a liquid - helping you stay hydrated po - but they don't really have an "ounce" value you MUST drink your Water your still a little early post up - but you MUST try and push your water - as long as you can hold it down if you are having problems....just keep sipping small amounts many people drink chrystal light if you just don't like water - SUCK IT UP!!! you must drink 64 oz daily-if you DON't get all your H20 in....... people have been shot for less you do have to improve your drinking - this is a "for the rest of your life change" good luck
