StefanieT sorry you had problems in the hospital with the pain meds glad that was finally resolved glad you aren't in pain now and don't need to take meds at home you should speak with your NUT she can help you with info concerning calorie intake, drinking, Protein requirements - her assistance will hopefully help your anxiety issue right now just concentrate on getting as much Fluid as possible - essential many of us have gone through the experience of dehydration (raising my hand ) no fun!!!! have to go to the hospital for iv to get rehydrated don't worry about the protein yet (course the Protein shakes would be great if you can keep them down) drink, sip - but really make yourself drink!!!!! protein will come soon you will gradually feel better - hopefully each day will be easier take care good luck

"MOST" dr/nut says due to carbonation you should never, ever drink any type of soda (diet or not ) don't think about what you can't drink or eat concentrate on what you can have, and enjoy that!!!! since you didn't say otherwise - sounds like you are doing "pretty" well??? take care bud

OMG you are such a lush!!! ohhhhh, you mean your just drinking lots of Water??? thats ok then!!!! maybe.........you might be cramping on an occassion though cuz you did drink something too fast???? but if "this" cramping is very infrequent - then don't listen to what i just said not getting nauseous??? doc is pleased, and says no prob with how much and how fast - you are drinking don't look for trouble!!!! I think we all feel bad when we see other sleevers suffer with problems concerning eating, drinking, gas et al you didn't have any problems - how great is that!!!! the fact that others unfortunately have/had problems shouldn't "cloud" your happiness, success!!! enjoy the start of your healthier, happier, longer life with the help of your new best friend, the sleeve!!!! continued good luck during recovery

    Ghrelin and hunger

Tink12/26 i have heard/seen many other people on the board who also comment on being hungry i see many responses that its "just" head hunger i agree - that might not be the case for all, nobody should automatically tell you that they know you have this or that!!! were you always hungry since WLS? or did it just start up now at 3 1/2 months???? my hunger did increase "slightly" at about 6 months maybe try eating more often, small meals with a snack I DID hear some noise the other day!!!!! was that YOUR stomach??? OMG - put a lid on it congrats on your weight loss good luck take care keep up the good work
  11. Marci sounds like you have made the wise decision to go with the sleeve???? all docs/NUTS do things differently - many many many people have pre-op diets my dr did not require one good luck with WLS speedy recovery
  12. Ashlie Marie Hope/sure you are feeling better now, right??? not sure what happened to you??? - high blood pressure?? as you/we/all were heavy - physical problems and being overweight go hand in hand at your young age of 20 - how wonderful it is to nip "your situation" in the bud having WLS - helping or stopping any co-morbities!!!! no heart attacks allowed in this community glad you will see your doc soon - you'll discuss your immediate problem - and more about your future with the sleeve maybe it was a "sign" reminding you that "yes" you made the wise decision to have the WLS ahhhhhh, what at wise chic you are at 20 years young people here always say "they wish they had the WLS years earlier" in your case, if you had the surgery any earlier - you would have had a pacifier in your mouth hope your surgery is soon take care best of luck speedy recovery
  13. ProudGrammy

I don't know what to do...

1stBabeBorn5th welcome first thing you can do is post your ticker - show your weight - when you will be having WLS - projected date (when you find out from doc of course) profile too is always great to post you have been a member here for less than 2 weeks keep reading info on the boards - and ask more questions good book to buy - Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies there is also a WLS for Dummies involving cooking twiddling your thumbs???? you are very excited i'm sure good luck gathering plenty of info - meeting with doc - submitting to insurance then of course after all is said and done...........have a great surgery, sooner than later take care

  15. 6 months today down 153 and feeling like a new man Kurt my eyes and ears aren't as good as they used to be did you really "say" you lost 153 lbs???? OMG thats amazing!!!! and what, what do i see?? holy moly - i am seeing a neck too!!!! you are doing terrific!!!! keep it up or should i say "keep it down" (the weight silly!!! ) ticker, ticker - profile too - come on - strutt your stuff proudly big congrats
  16. libearzomom looked up NPPV mask (non invasive positive pressure ventilation) that you were wearing in the class reminded me of CPAP that i no longer wear ventilator used as mask instead of a tube (mask is tolerated by patient better than a tube) just want to share - not off topic - similarity (I think ????) just to mention - i saw a dr tv story the other night - dr. had lots of trouble putting a trach in the patient - because the patient had "no neck" due to his obesity!! doc finally did a successful tracheatame - almost couldn't, and patient would have died from not being able to have a simple surgical procedure only tv show - but the story is true - the names chanaged to protect the innocent anyways, back to you liberzmom!!!! great pictures showing your success keep up the good work congrats
  17. rtaylorel there are so many revisions from the lapband to the sleeve why would people feel the need to have another surgery, if the lapband was good?? i bought this purple dress years ago - it was the fashionable thing to buy - everyone was buying it - looked nice for a long time eventually problems started - the colors ran - just didn't look pretty any more everyone was having problems with that brand name -only a few people want to buy that colored dress anymore there was a new and improved red color that looked much better, and everyone seemed to like it people switched to the red - now i'm finding out that they are making very few blue dresses now people seem to switch from the blue to thee red - much happier congrats on your "soon" to be wise decision having the sleeve out with the old - in with the new!!!! good luck!!!!

elpaso73 down, down, down, down 22 lbs - thats great!!!! glad you saw the dr and he told you that you are "just" dealing with gas this will pass bloating, night sweats - what were his comments?? are you still feeling pains in your tummy??? you are 1 week post-op - things will improve daily you will be happy to know you will get back to normal!!!! happy being normal??? hmmmm, depends what your "normal' is hope you are able to sip/drink walking as much as you can will get rid of that nasty gas you are your way to a bright new healthier, happier, longer life continued speedy recovery enjoy the "ride"
  20. ProudGrammy

    Half way!

920amy that is terrific!!!! theres a well known 'fact".............. when you/anyone does the "happy dance" you burn about one million calories!!! you also burn one million calories when you smile no frowning allowed!! keep on dancin' and smiling 1/2 way til go??? Congrats

    Newbie Here

annette0117 wecome get yourself prepared mentally - to start the ride of a lifetime "prepare" yourself - telling yourself you might have some ups and downs initially - but hard times (if you have) will pass sooner than later things might be a little rough at the beginning little nautious, extra tired, gas - but you'll get over that any "little" situations that might happen - throughout this journey - you have to deal with, but you will succeed!!! anything you might have to do is worth the new healthier, happier, longer life you will be starting walk as much and as long as you can so you get your strength back - and yes it will help get rid of gas drink slowly - but get in as much as you can - very important drink as much as possible- when, how much - is one of the most important rules of WLS you must follow keep the excitement in your head going!!! see you on the "otherside" I know you will do great, and "it" will be so worth it - starting your new wonderful life!!! good luck with surgery speedy recovery

  23. ProudGrammy

    Do you regret?

LonghornNiner to answer your question - any regrets??? are you kidding me no regrets - 105 lbs gone - goal = one happy camper I've never felt this terrific, healthy - going here there and everywhere - enjoying life hun you are only one month post op the side effects, being tired - no energy - trouble drinking - or not wanting to drink/eat - these are common problems that will work out - hopefully sooner than later people react differently PO to any surgery - whether you had your appendix removed - or your tummy you are recuperating from major surgery - this is not a walk in the park many people have your "feelings" - eating/drinking/tiredness (I know that doesn't help you much ) you do need to make yourself drink/eat as mentioned you don't want to get dehydrated if you do, then you will have to go to hospital for IV and be rehydrated this happened to me 6 weeks PO - happens to others too taking your Vitamins - great!!!! but you need nutrition - are you able to hold any Protein shake down??? every one needs their Water et - but having diabetes (i had it too) you must take extra care of yourself i hope you have a NUT/surgeon you can talk with - help you take care - feel better soon life does/will get better!!!! i promise!!! Would i lie to you???? congrats on your weight loss good luck
  24. WooHoo glad you are feeling better i know you'll do great you are beginning your new healthier, happier, longer life good luck bud continued speedy recovery Let the games begin
